We had our interview this morning! It was a smooth process. We arrived about 10 mins early and were called about 20 mins after our scheduled time. The officer said she was ready for us at the scheduled time actually but nobody informed her we were waiting. She swore us in, then basically said she had no questions for us as our evidence was strong and there was no doubt as to the validity of our relationship. She asked if we had any updated evidence we wanted to include and I provided our documents and then she went over the questions on the I-485, made a few updates like our address and my husbands work history. She confirmed when we got married and asked why we moved to Virginia. We also have a pending I-601 which she did not really ask much about either because once again we provided a very detailed statement and evidence. Then she said she would approve us right away if it were not for the waiver and she just needed to review a few documents and both applications would hopefully be adjudicated by today or tomorrow. The whole thing lasted about 20 mins and was a pretty painless process. Good luck to everyone still waiting! Hopefully we’ll have that GC in hand very soon

Hi All! We need to renew our EAD I wanted to know do we pay the filing fee or is the fee waived since we are in AOS status?
No you don’t have to pay the fee if your I-485 is still pending. Just send the form with the passport photos and copy of the current EAD.

I guess the looming USCIS furloughs are not affecting interviews? Anyone got more background info on this?
I’ve just received word at work that the furloughs are cancelled for the time being.

Just an update for those who need to renew work permits. My husbands renewal was just approved a little over 2 months after we filed. His previous EAD expires in early August and we mailed in the renewal application jume 4th and it was approved on August 18th

My early April AOS interview that got cancelled due to pandemic has just been rescheduled. Haven't received the letter yet, so no idea when it will be.
Anyone else on the same boat? How much further down the year are they scheduling in NY field offices?
Same as above, Washington DC Office. We were originally scheduled for March 19th. Got the notification that it was rescheduled on August 6th and are now waiting for the interview on September 3rd.

That's great news!
When did you receive your EAD Card?
And in case this was meant for me, my husband filed in April 2019 and he received his EAD IN August 2019 but we spent about 2 months trying to get it expedited so not sure if it would have taken longer had we not done anything.

Was this a rescheduled appointment or is this your first appointment
This was a reschedule. We were originally scheduled for March 19th (the day USCIS shut it’s offices)

Out of interest, I assume when you did biometrics it was in Alexandria? Did they update your status online afterwards? I did biometrics this Wednesday and still no updates, so kind of wondering if that's typical for that ASC...
Sorry, we actually filed while living in Florida and then moved to nova months later. But the ASC was in Miami and my husbands status never updated to show anything about his fingerprints so I think the case status is not always reliable

I checked my emails this morning and our status was also updated to interview scheduled as of yesterday! Originally scheduled for March 19 and cancelled due to covid19. Good luck to everyone still waiting!

I have not heard of anyone on here getting a new interview date yet, nor have any of our clients at work who had interviews cancelled. Apparently there is a huge delay in printing green cards and work permits at the moment as well. Good news about the ASC’s though. Hopefully things will start moving again soon however slowly.

We just applied for my husbands EAD renewal and also got a receipt number beginning with IOE... our interview was also scheduled for March 19th but no sign of rescheduling yet.
I’ve heard the same about the oath ceremonies being the priority right now. It appeared for a while like they were going to adjudicate straightforward green card applications without an interview but I have not heard of that happening since early April so don’t know if it was just a rumor.
The waiting around is starting to get frustrating.

Hi Guys,
Wondering if anyone moved after the interview ready to be scheduled. I am a bit nervous and calming my fears with the hope that Northern Va and DC share the same office. We moved from DC to Alexandria and are wondering if anyone has had a similar experience.
I believe they are both processes at the DC field office which is in Fairfax. You have to update your address but I don’t think it will have any impact on your wait.

Yeah. I work for an immigration attorney in northern VA and this info came from another attorney we work with. He’s had 2 clients get new dates in September after having their March interviews cancelled at the Fairfax office.
Also, just some random info in case it helps anybody. As long as you file an application to renew your work permit BEFORE the expiration date, then your current work permit is automatically extended for another 6 months.

From DC?
Yes

They were closed until at least April 1 but they’ve already extended that until April 7 and will likely extend again. Really sucks but nothing we can do now but wait. Hopefully those of us who had interviews cancelled will have our interviews some time this summer.

My interview is on Thursday 03/19 and I have not received any messages or calls.
It feels surreal that it may get rescheduled after all the waiting.
Mine was supposed to be the 19th as well. They are all canceled now. They will send us a letter with a new date. What a bummer!

Baltimore Field office just closed.... not looking good. Has anybody had a call to reschedule? Up until now they have been rescheduling only some appointments each day to minimize the amount of people...

Hope so too! Ours is next Monday. They haven’t said anything about closing yet! They just asked everyone who’s sick to reschedule. Hope it doesn’t change
I know our field office in Fairfax has opened up an old section on the first floor to make a larger waiting area and keep people separated as much as possible... hopefully that’s enough to keep them open for a bit longer. Seems like they will inevitably have to shut down for a while though.

There has not been much activity on this thread lately but I wanted to update anyone still waiting that my husbands I-485 was approved today! We had our interview last Thursday after having it be rescheduled due to Covid. New card is being produced.
