My interview is due to take place in London on 23/9
however I will not be attending as I filed for divorce here in the UK a week or so ago.
short story - emotional abuse and infidelity on my “husbands” side.
he evidently couldn’t wait a couple of months for us to get there 🥺
anyway, I need to withdraw the application, so can someone please advise the best way. I don’t want a refusal as I would like to renew my ESTA and still holiday in the USA or visit my daughter.
Do I simply email the embassy in London and ask for them to withdraw without refusal? Or do I just not go?
Help please

very sorry you went thru all this work and now find out he did not respect the marriage
please remember your son
my daddy was in the Air Force and i loved every move -new friends -new adventures
i am sure your son felt the same and was excited so to him the disappointment may be as much (or more) than yours
help him thru this
and God bless you
sorry you met a jerk
Luckily my son wasn’t so keen on the move to the USA! So he’s happy to be staying in the UK. He can of course see his dad whenever he wants. And his dad can come here. Will not be staying with me though I can say that!!

Guys
i wanted to say good luck to everyone no matter what stage you are at.
my interview is 23/9 and I will not be going as i filed for divorce last week.
after months of emotional abuse from my husband I found out the reason why he was treating me so appallingly is because he has been cheating, with someone who knows he’s married. So basically they deserve each other.
Im so glad I found out now and hadn’t given up my life, home, Job, stability and pulled our son out of school.
I’m finding it tough as this man pursued me to marry him for the second time for two years and promised us the world .
Im grieving the life I thought we would have and of course him. Although I realise it’s for the best, it will take time to get over the betrayal, lies and deceit.
thanks for the support on the posts I’ve submitted
good luck everyone x

They only tell you not to bring photos if your case has gone online, which they can confirm if you call. If the embassy hasn’t uploaded your case online, you’ll need to bring pictures.
Yeah I got an email yday tellin me they will take the photos
dont know if that’s good since I have an overnight coach ride to get to the 9:30am appt 🤦♀️
Best take some concealer 😂😂

thanks for the reply!
it’s for my husband who already does have a tourist visa and has come and gone correctly multiple times with it.
With the embassies closed and with brazil only getting worse, i have no clue when interviews will start again so we started discussing if visiting would be a possibility.
I emailed CBP to confirm that I as a UK citizen married to a USC, could enter the USA on an ESTA, and that i could in fact renew my ESTA. I checked due to the current proclamations about UK not being able to enter the USA unless exempt
they confirmed yes I could do both enter as the spouse (take marriage certificate) and also renew my esta
i have entered previously since we got married and took
a letter from my employer stating my return to work date
a letter from our sons school confirming return gonschool date
return itienrary
copy of NOA1/2
marfiage certificate

Yes I think so. Is the medication name and dosage listed anywhere, like maybe added to your health care summary? I think they will want to know what meds you take.Yes it’s on my GP medical summary ☺️

So the GP has me on 100mg sertraline
ive been on them for about 5 weeks now
he kindly did me a letter for the medical
its very short and succinct
it says
this ladies anxiety does not cause her to be a danger to others or herself nor has she reported suicidal thoughts
is that ok?

Sometime ago but when I did mine it was all on same day, medical then wander over to the interview, we seem to be going backwards.
This was the process back when I did this in 1997
medical in the morning and wander over to the embassy in the afternoon with the medical pack/X-ray
5 hours ago, hannahjsf said:I had mine 6 days before my interview. The medical team told me I could email the day before my interview to check if everything was submitted.
When I emailed the morning before they said it was in the final stages and not done, but that they’d try to push it through for me. Then they emailed again a few hours later to say it had been successfully submitted online.
I’d recommend emailing them to see if they can help get it done in time. I was emailing with a lady named Hannah V and she was really helpful.
Edit: Contact them through the email address on one of the sheets they give you. Message me and I can send you it 😊
I emailed them last night, am waiting on a response ☺️

Visamedicals website says at least 5 working days to be between medical and embassy appt
my medical is 14/9
appt is 23/9
is this enough time?
I’m not unduly concerned but I’ve a friend panicking over his saying it must be 2 weeks between them.

For the consulates who allowed petitioners to attend with the beneficiary, anyone still been allowed during COVID era??
London usually would, but the reports I’ve seen, they are requiring spouses to wait outside.
even if the embassy have had an email and put the spouse on the list to enter.

Nothing at all. I'm gonna try not to get too crazy about it and also not get my hopes up.
So how is everyone doing in this heatwave in England? Is Scotland getting it too? I saw the flooding and awful train tragedy on the news! My DH and I FaceTime regularly and he is really struggling with the heat. Told him to get a fan, so at least the (hot) air is moving around. Oh, and to stay hydrated.
I think I have heat stroke 🥵

I went in on Monday and by Tuesday they called and told me to pick it up - Normally my doctors office seems to run by the "You want it when" attitude but this was less than 24. In 48 Hrs I had the extra statement which cost me £10.80
Remember to also get your Vaccine list, too.
Matt
My doctors is the same
they said just call when I need it and they will email it to me. I need a letter about anxiety though as that’s current.
And of course vaccinations

If things are not good, do as you plan. Work on it and then get the visa. No point spending money on something that may be a waste of time. Are there 4 visas you need or just yours?
Now as a mother I would not take my kids to the US when my marriage maybe falling apart.
I can only see all sorts of trouble. He boots you out keeps the kids (if they are USC the courts may never let them move back to the UK). Not horrible if you want to stay in the US but horrible if you are trapped living in a place you hate. (just my train of thought not saying this would happen)
If he wants this to work then he needs to step up too not just you working on it. It takes two. If you saying this is your 2nd time around is with him, do as you planned and think long and hard.
Oh I know but it seems it is just me working on it. I can’t fix it on my own. I’ve looked for one good reason to continue and he’s giving me every reason to not.
the two eldest are over 21 so not concerned about them. I’m concerned about our 12yr old. They are all dual citizens and I am well aware of what could happen if 6-12 mths in he decides it’s a big no.

Are we supposed to upload our expedite requests as part of the standard online document submission mechanism for the NVC ( my wife and 2 children are all DQ’d) or is there a separate email address we are supposed to send them to ?
Any advice appreciated.

Ok for anyone in the same situation, the Embassy advises I just don’t turn up the scheduled appt and then it can be rescheduled in the link you register on

If things are not good fix it... Just know if you stop it or cancel it can't be undone... You can get your visa and still have 6months to clear your head... If you decide its over then don't get on the flight
Oh believe me I’m trying. I don’t even know what’s broken. 🥺🥺 it’s a complete 180 by him not me. And this is no flash in the pan relationship. We’ve got 3 kids. This is our 2nd time around.

Does anyone know how to postpone an interview at Embassy stage?
ive registered my appt,
booked a medical (which I can cancel for now)
and I’ve paid for courier
except things are not good between my husband and I
im not willing to pay out more good money on a whim.
if I cancel the Embassy interview, how long do I have to take it ?
-
So today I registered my appt, paid for the courier service and booked my medical.
All my docs are in order
I just need to get my medical summary from my GP and I’m going to order the 2019 transcripts when I can “just in case”

If NVC assigned you an interview date, then you register that appointment you already have (choice #1) and it will take you on to courier arrangements. This one won’t take you to a calendar of open appointment dates to pick your choice of dates because you already have been assigned a date by NVC.If you are DCF that never went to NVC and the embassy provided you a case number so you could go online and pick your own appointment it’s #2.
If you got expedited out of NVC before they assigned your interview and you have no appointment date, then you have to schedule an appointment, meaning pick a date yourself online. #2
Fab that’s what I thought
i haven’t even tried yet as I was leaving it until next week to look! But someone in a FB group tried already and was confused so I said I’d check here 😊 tbh my gut was to register the appt, the others two didn’t make sense

Based on the experiences of a handful of people who have had their IR1/CR1 interviews at the London Embassy over the past few weeks, the DS-5540 Public Charge form has not been requested. This may change in the future, but it looks like, for now, you don't need to submit one. The only question related to this that people were asked was about their plans for obtaining health insurance.
They can’t ask - a judge over ruled ruled it

Do they ask for w2s on interview? If yes, for which year? Everything was uploaded successfully but I am not sure if they can ask again.
They can ask for the latest one.

No need to think and consider
infidelity is a big no, paired with months of emotional abuse. I’m done.
and I’ve filed for divorce already.
I haven’t been to the medical, I’ve cancelled it. It should have been next week.
I’ll message the Embassy this week and eat them know I’m withdrawing the application. I don’t want a refused as I still want to renew my ESTA.
Thanks all
