  1. I am really interested! I've been looking for flights, and right now doesn't seem super financially viable for me(the pragmatist in me says I need to keep working since I'm able to and save that money, haha). But! Just having the availability and the option to go takes so much pressure off because I know that I COULD go. So any information you could send from them would be super appreciated! 🙏 💕

My fiancé just told me that Norway will be opening borders for loved ones of Norwegian citizens. A form will just have to be filled out with evidence that you’ve had a relationship for longer than 9 months. So atleast I’ll be able to visit if the embassy doesn’t start processing K1s soon!

I hope it's not just talking about this link: https://www.udi.no/en/about-the-corona-situation/eueaa-national-or-family-member/#link-18188

Because that still only counts for EU/EEA citizens, and excludes fiance's who aren't planning on getting married in Norway(excluding 2 year cohabitants and people with children).

Crossing my fingers they open it up so we can go visit. I've been worried about mailing my documents anyway, with how shipping delays and stuff are still going and it would be a lot less nerve wracking to be able to just go give my fiance the documents in person(and also see them-wah!)

Does anyone know what happens with NOA2s that are about to expire? We haven't been able to book an appointment and the NOA2 expires June 24th. I have emailed the embassy, but got an automated response saying they are not answering any questions at this time... Will the validity be extended automatically then?

Was this one the one that started with

You have reached the Consular Section of the U.S. Embassy in Stockholm, Sweden. Please read the following information carefully.

    [ ... ]

Please only e-mail stkivinfo@state.gov if you have received an e-mail from the U.S. Embassy, already had an interview at the U.S. Embassy in Stockholm or require assistance with a lost green card. We reply to e-mails in the order they are received.

I got this automatic reply when I extended my NOA2 again a month ago. We got a reply surprisingly fast (2 days) after sending in an updated proofs of relationship chat pictures pdf from the last 3 months.

  4. My fiance and I got our medical for the K-1 done at the tail end of January before things closed up about a month and a half later, so we're probably going to 'expire' for the 6 months validity to enter the US with...

Has anyone been able to see anything about how they're handling those expiration with the COVID shutdowns? Kinda hoping they extend it, but also not holding my breath.

Physically going there is impossible for me right now cause i am stuck outside the US and there are no flights available. What else option do i have to get it asap

I suggest you try to see if you can get one online from here.  You may be able to print it from this website! I wasnt able to, and that's where a lot of my issues come in.
I suspect there are bound to be a place you can go without having to come back to the US to do it. If the above website doesn't work try calling their number at: 800-908-9946

Available from the IRS by calling 1-800-908-9946. Non-filers can expect to receive a paper IRS Verification of Non-filing Letter at the address provided in their telephone request within 5 to 10 days from the time of the request

you are still the main sponsor so a letter saying why you do not file is probably needed (examples would be attending college, etc)

To piggyback off of this,  since you never filed, you may have to physically make an appointment at your local tax office and go to request one.
I had to wait several months of going back and forth with the website, and phones before I was told this, after being told over and over that it was fine and I would receive a copy in the mail. But when I went in person, they printed them out for me and I got them same-day.

This is the email I used back in 2016, likely they're still using the same one. stkivinfo@state.gov

This is the email I've been using to extend our approval with Stockholm's embassy.

When they email them, they will request proofs of ongoing relationship.
This can just be a varying snippets of text messages or online messages in the last 3-6 months. (Our last one we sent 16 screenshots of conversations from different days)
They will extend it as long as they need to, 4 months at a time.

My fiance and I have gotten caught in a bad place with his work where an important project he's on has needed to be extended before he's been able to come, and we were finally scheduling the interview. But we're having to put together another one, so if they have any more specific questions, feel free to message me!

Be sure they put their STK#######Blahblahblah in the title for the email.

Does anyone think they're going to be letting us extend the medicals? We got ours at the end of January, and it kind of sucks we're going to have to pay that fee again.

  8. Hello! [k-1 visa extension question]
I've emailed the Stockholm embassy asking for an extension on our approval notice which expires in 24 days. In return they'd like proofs of long term relationship over the past year and 3 "affidavits sworn to or affirmed by third parties having personal knowledge of the bona fide of your relationship". Asking three people in our lives this isnt a problem and we intend to ask a friend, one of my coworkers, my mom, and maybe one of his coworkers for good measure.

We havent had a trip this year, since I came back from visiting Norway for 3 months from October 2018 - January 2019, and we talk using the app Telegram instead of texting or calling(it uses tickets, photos, and phone bills as examples for information). How much information, like chat logs should I piece together to prove we intend to keep going forward with this process? What kind of format should we use for the letter?

And most importantly, will they accept this information via email, or do I need to express mail these documents to the Stockholm embassy? If anyone knows any of these, I'd really appreciate it!

We intend to move forward with this process, but life got a little hectic(moving, some medical stuff, new job and projects) after we got our NOA2.

  9. This might seem like a bit of a weird question, but is there anyway to "slow down" this part of the process and get an extension on your Approval Notice?

It's my understanding you have until the end of the "Approval Notice" date on the NOA2 to get your interview scheduled, medical, and DS-160 done.

We currently have until 09/28/2019 according to our NOA2, but my fiance(the beneficiary) hasn't been able to get some of the dental-work we wanted him to try and get done(much cheaper than here with his income)/ We'd really like for him to get his wisdoms done, but it's looking like that's going to be the beginning of September before that could be finished.

So I'm trying to find out now if there's a way we could potentially push it back so that we would have enough time for that to get done before any dates get close, or we have to cancel anything.

I have most P3 if you hit me up with a request, I will post back the links.

If I could bother you for the Swedish Embassy's P3 I would be most appreciative!

Edit: We're "In Transit" but I had to update an address today and the representative said it hadn't left the office yet, and that it would be most likely leaving tomorrow for me! :)

It can be done but the first requirement is to have been living in the new location for six months. You're better off to fly back for the medical and interview unless you have the time to put in to meet the requirements from the new embassy.

That's what I thought, thank you very much!
He may not even have to go, but I wanted to ask just in case.. but even if he has to go, the difference in the rent will probably pay for the plane ticket anyway 😄

  12. Does anyone know how easy/difficult/horrible an idea it would be to have to switch the intended embassy for the interview at this stage?

My Beneficiary may have to unexpectedly travel to another country(South America-not sure the country- from Norway) for a few months for his current job.

Does anyone know how the process would change or become more complicated if his address changed to a country pretty far from his current one?

  13. I want to say thank you to all of my February k-1 friends who have been giving support and help to all of us through this leg of the journey. I feel humbled after feeling so down to have received my NOA2 today, dated May 29.

Neither the old website, nor the new website has updated for me, so if it hasn't for you that doesn't mean it's not in the mail.

I hope that this is the beginning of another week of acceptances, and lighter hearts!

    Is there a June 2019 NOA2 >  NVC thread?

  14. I'm also still waiting, we wait together!

When I get anxious about it, or the patience runs low I try to think about what my original date was when I signed up for this site in February was, and I'm trying to base my expectations on that.

"You can freak out a month from now", is kind of my mantra for this waiting stuff... I'd actually even prefer a harder, more in-depth process on my end than all of the waiting. 😔

We got our NOA2 in less than 3 months of submitting the I129f, on it there are valid through dates, does this mean he has to have his interview by then?

Does anyone know how much the physical costs in Norway?

Also the interview is in Stockholm not Oslo now?? On the I129f I put Olso, will that cause problem?

    So many questions! Lol :)

It won't cause a problem that you put that, and the reason they do it in Stockholm is because the embassy in Norway doesn't process any k-1 visas.

Super good luck to you! We are anxiously waiting for our NOA2!

I sent itinerary of flights , Airbnb bookings for both of my visits. Her itinerary for her visit here to the U.S. but no photos. I was a bit skeptical after I sent that but heard that pics where secondary proof. So I was not worrying too much. This time around I'll send passport stamps copies and see if I can find my actual boarding passes. Along with many pics.

Depending on the airlines, you can view your old boarding passes still if you have a login, or be sure to check your emails!

  17. Even if you didn't have to worry about your mother and ever think about doing it the other way, the income requirement for immigrating to Norway is even more than the income requirement to bring them here, and there's no system for joint sponsorship there. Joint sponsors don't have to be family or people you live with, although it helps.

What sort of job did you do before taking care of your mother? Perhaps there's a way that you can remote-work using those skills to be able to take care of your mother and make something.

Who cares for your mother when you're doing your trips, or is your person the one who always comes here?
