    Hi everyone,

I'm considering applying for a citizenship myself, but I was wondering.. can we get out of the U.S. as soon as biometrics are done? It looks like many of you got that appointment immediately. Is the actual date for biometrics pretty soon too? I know that when your case is approved and have the ceremony, you will have to be in the U.S., but I read somewhere that as long as you come back to the U.S. by then, you can go to another country after something is done.. am I understanding correctly?

I'm asking because I want to be able to attend a job fair abroad and I don't think I can get sworn in before then. Please let me know!!

    Yes you can travel.

Hi Congrats on the interview date.

Due to Covid they want you In an out of the embassy quickly, I doubt they’re going to ask you all the details for transcripts. However for your preparation you can print out tax filing papers instead. It took them 2+ months to mail the transcripts to us, in the end CO didn’t even ask a single things about the finances.

Yeah we have the filing papers, so thats our plan for now. We did get a hold of the IRS, they said they will make an exception and mail it to us! I hope its going to be here in time! Thanks!

Do you have the most current Tax forms and W2. That will suffice.

Unfortunately we have nothing, my husband hasnt been working in the Usa for over 6 years. We called them as advised, and they will send it by mail this week, I hope it arrives before we have our interview and otherwise I hope the joints papers are sufficient enough.

we just got our interview letter!! August 25th! I will update your form. :)

I feel like you shouldn’t have said you’ll have them by the interview, but explain you are unable to get them until IRS resumed normal operations. That’s what we did and we got DQ, I didn’t want to say I’ll get it by the interview because I knew IRS will take a long time to open back up. Write them another explanation or call the embassy directly and explain your situation so at least they can let you know if it’s ok or not,

if your husband has tax returns or he can get them online, bring those instead of transcripts, just make sure to also have the corresponding W2 as well.

I know that now, but I cant change that now. We gave them a call yesterday, they told us they will do there best to send it by mail this week. It was someones advise in here.
otherwise we indeed will call the embassy and explain.
we just received our interview letter for the 25th of August!

Hi, I just read your msg and it reminded me that I needed to request the transcript. I live overseas, so they will have to mail it. I can´t get it online.

I called the number on the website:  267-941-1000

They picked up in less than 1 minute and were SO NICE. I ecommend you call this number and request a transcript by mail. They also mentioned that they can fax it. So you might try that, if mail isn´t an option for you...

    Good luck!

Oh I hope your right here, that will save us a lot of troubles.

  6. Help!
I know a lot of us have issues with getting tax transcripts. I hope to find someone in a similar situation as me and probably others.
We filed including a joint sponsor, who is able to support me enough on his own. We have all the sponsors tax transcripts. We dont have my husbands due to COVID and he is living overseas. His online account is not accessible because he lives with me. But they are also not sending his transcripts by mail. (reason: due to lack of transportation)We uploaded an explanation in CEAC stating this issue and got DQ june 1st. But we did mention that we would bring the transcripts to the interview (we thought the IRS must have gotten a solution by now). Do you think it is an issue if we dont have my husbands transcripts, but we have the joints who makes way over the averages or do we risk being denied? Any thoughts? Thanks all of you!

I feel you on this one... ours never prepares us for the next step, just waits until it is upon us. It's maddening honestly.

I asked our medical clinic. They said it is not an issue if the results aren't in before the interview takes place. It will take longer for them to process the visa after the interview, because they wait until the results come in. They even said that sometimes it is not possible to have a medical exam planned before the interview and it has to take place after, also that is not a problem.

    Hello,

Our case is just missing the police clearance certificate for us to complete our AOS and IV at the NVC.  My wife went to the MIS (Ministry of the Interior Service) office in her hometown on May 14 to apply for the record (it was the first week they were open after Covid-19 lockdown).  They stated the record would be ready on May 28.  On May 28, they stated that no records were available due to technical problems with their computer system.  The actual explanation was on a handout they gave my wife, which she translated for me.

She has applied for the police cert online a day later, but the website gave her the same error.   She has tried every day since, with no success.

Ukraine is easing lockdown restrictions for most regions, but her oblast is among a handful that is still under harsher restrictions.

I am wondering if we can submit a letter explaining the situation instead of the PCC, with a promise to provide the PCC during the interview.  When her region's lockdown restrictions are lifted she can travel to Kyiv and apply for the cert at the main MIS office.

Has anyone submitted such a message to the NVC and have received their DQ?  A letter that PCC is not available due to Covid-19, instead of the actual PCC?

We did it for our taxes, we were unable to loging due to an error in our account. We uploaded an explanation letter stating we will bring the missing docs to the interview. Got DQ a few days later

Plenty of people have with an existing visa or VWP.  So if you already have one you can use it.  Be able to show ties back to "home".

Pretty hard to get one once you have announced your immigrant intent.  $160 and an interview is all it takes to find out.

I renewed my ESTA during the CR1 process, it wasn't a problem at all. Maybe when you reached the NVC stage it is I am not sure of that.

  11. Traveled multiple times to the US during my still pending CR1 process.

Just bring a copy of your Noa1 and if you have it your Noa2 and make sure you always book a return ticket. I even had my employer writing a letter stating I would come back to my country because I still work there.

I never had to show the documents, but if they do ask questions you can always show that you are returning and your filing the right visa.

"Should we 1) Mention that the taxes are pending ITIN on part 11: Additional Information of the i864, or just attach the 2019 tax form/W2 and move on?

Also 2) should we attach w2 from previous years (I know previous years are optional!) With the previous year tax transcripts or just the tax transcripts enough?

Thanks in advance for all you do!"

    - W2 are only necessary if you filled jointly that specific year.

    - Not sure if I understand your first question correctly, but you can't upload the 2019 tax transcripts and the W2 in one document. If you have the 2019 tax transcript, upload only that form and upload the W2 in the additional doc section.

    We did:

    I864

Explanation letter that we don't have 2019 yet, but will provide it with during the interview. (since its not July 15th yet, 2018 should be enough)

    Additional docs:

    Transcripts 2016/2017/2018 Beneficiary

Make sure that all documents are uploaded separated, don't create 1 file with all the documents.

For NVC phase, when my husband (sponsor-US citizen) has to submit his last three years of taxes, we have tax transcripts from IRS for 2016,2017,2018. But since we are filing married joint for 2019, the tax return will be delayed waiting for the ITIN process. He has sent his 2019 taxes to IRS at this point, but we won't receive a transcript for quite some time as first the ITIN process must complete, after which our taxes get processed.

The US deadline for taxes is July 15th, but I'm concerned I will be at the stage with NVC after that date, which means I need to submit my 2019 taxes.

We read the instructions and it seems we can submit tax transcripts for 2017, 2018, and just the personal copy of our tax return for 2019 since we won't have a transcript? Just wanted to confirm if:
    1) we can submit the personal copy (not transcript) of 2019 return
    2) do we need to make note of this on the last page of the I864 where it asks us to note any specific info potentially like this?

Thanks! Responses will be highly appreciated ❤️

we were unable to get the transcripts too because of covid, you should upload an explanation letter. Not in the supporting docs area but actually the finance option. Explaining why you don't have it and that you will bring it to the interview with your. We were scared for an RFE, but got DQ in 5 days.
