  1. I submitted my husband's AOS/EAD/AP on October 8, 2019. I still have not received anything. Finally on the 11th of March, I faxed USCIS my husband's job offer to have his EAD expedited. Still nothing and called the the USCIS today and they said because of the virus, all offices are shut down and it could be up to 50 days before they even get to our case and it could take longer than that. I feel so frustrated and at a loss. It's been 7 months now that my husband's been here and they basically have done nothing on his case. Anyone else having any luck with expediting their EAD?

If no I-9 was requested, I doubt there would even be an HR department.  Legitimate US businesses do not omit that step, because of federal laws and all.

It's a private own company. I talked with the owner's wife today to get an employment offer letter to have the card expedited. She has mentioned something about filing out the I-9, but I know for a fact my husband didn't fill anything out. As far as just have a job offer the only reason, I do have medical for my kids that I really need a second income to help with that would hopefully speed it up.

He can ask for the expedite for sure with the job offer.

USCIS does not approve EAD expedite request unless you have a real emergency other than job loss. You will have to provide documents to prove your claim. The final decision to expedite the request rests with USCIS.

Just read that👆. So will just asking for it to be expedited for the basis of having a job offer not work?

He will have to not work until his EAD (not his AP, that is advance parole) is approved to work.  Not just approved but have the card.  They can't do his I-9 without it and an I-9 must be done by first day of work.

Yeah, they never asked for that. But I know he can't keep working. Just worried what will happen that he started working. I'm not sure how cases got mixed up but yesterday they said the combo card was approved. It's a mess and not I'm freaking out.

  5. Long story short, somehow I had the wrong case number and it showed my AP case was approved on the 11th of February. Turns out my husbands actual case is still pending however he just accepted a job yesterday. We had called immigration twice yesterday and they said it was approved, however, that was for the wrong case. This morning we called back and got the correct case number. What do we do? How much trouble can he get for working and how to do I speed that process up?

That is weird. I just entered a case of my own that has the status "Approved" and I get the same responses as before and the wait time is only 3-5 mins!!!

Finally got through to someone! Basically, for some reason, my case is mixed with this Alejandra person and she said she has no idea why and it's mess but will fix it and had to send me to the higher up's and now I'm waiting for a call back.

Hi, Yes. was a real human being. Wasn't a smart human but a real one. Dialed the 800 number above. Once answered pressed 1122, then entered my receipt number and press 1 to confirm receipt number. Tells you that all calls will be answered in order and then a wait time........

I did the same thing. It's just an automated message saying my case was approved. I waited on the line and it just says to check on another case, to enter that receipt number. I'll try again, but I called that exact number this morning and did those same steps

I have just been on a call with them!!

Dial 1-800-375-5283. When they answer press 1,1,2,2 and follow the prompt to enter the receipt numbers. Hope you have more luck than I!! :)

Were you ever able to talk to a person instead of just getting the automated message? I guess USCIS called my husband this morning but he was unable to answer it. I received another email (this time it was actually addressed to him) saying that they called and to call that number and when I put in the receipt number, it just says my case approved and they sent notice in the mail. I tired doing another e-request but it says Existing Inquiring Found and I can't do another one. I really need that combo card but I'm at such a loss on how about going and getting that card resent to me

I may have missed this answer but has your case status moved passed "Approved" to "Card Being Produced"? The case update system can be very bad but if not it may be worth calling and speaking to a Tier 2 officer asking why.

Do you know how I would go about getting a hold of them? I just get an automated recording. I've sent it 3 e-requests and today I received a reply back but it was addressed to someone else stating the case type being inquired about is not supported by the USCIS. I'm getting super frustrated because I'm getting no results

I just sent another email. I will keep at them until I hear something back. I understand they're busy but this is people's lives they are messing with. It's super frustrating and after over a year of doing nothing but waiting, I'm getting irritated lol.

  11. My husbands AP case was approved on February 11th. I was told his is normally a combo card of EAD/AP that comes in the mail when the case is approved. I have not received anything in the mail and on USCIS website, it says if nothing has come in the mail by 26th of February, to send in a e-request. Has anyone else done this and if so, how long did it take to come in after you put in the request?

I think it took just over a week, but that was 18 months ago so it may be taking a little longer. There was a holiday last week so that will have slowed your husband’s up a little too. I hope it arrives soon!

Never mind, I send in a request because I read on there if I haven't received the approve notice in the mail by February 26 to send a request. Hopefully they send it out quickly!

Do you know if there is a place to call and check the status. It was approved 17 days ago and still nothing in the mail.

So, this is news to me.

To clarify, they wanted proof of earnings for the year before you came to the US from your former UK employer?

I'm from the US. My husband came here from the UK. For tax purposes, you have to report his income for the tax year. Once your k-1 gets approved and the beneficiary moves to the US, the k-1 is at that point done and then you move onto the AOS to adjust to permanent resident after you marry.

That really sucks, I'm sorry. What was the RFE regarding, if you don't mind my asking?

The RFE was about income. My tax transcripts only showed my income from July to December since that's when I was hired. I had my employer write up an updated letter of employment with my annual income.
