SASAS reacted to Dbrennan in IR-1/CR-1 Montreal DQ'd private message group goes public
Just got an email from Cheema’s office saying my medical results were sent to the consulate today! My medical apt was November 26th, hopefully this gives anybody else worried about their apts being close together some peace of mind!

Hey everyone!! Just finished my medical this morning with Cheema in BC.
I stayed at the civic hotel autograph collection (definitely recommend this hotel also!) about 15 mins away from the medical office. Took an Uber from the hotel around 7:40 am and made it to the office a few minutes before my 8:00 appointment. They had me fill out some paperwork of basic info like name, phone number, PHIN, addresses etc. The receptionist photocopied my immunization records and I believe also my passport and drivers license and returned them back to me. I went into the examining room maybe around 8:40. Dr Cheema was super nice!! I brought along my discharge documents from a few surgeries I’ve had and he just verbally asked me about the surgeries and said he didn’t need to see any of my discharge information (I would still bring them in case though). He checked my breath sounds, pulse, blood pressure, weight and height. I was only in the room for him for maybe 5 mins and he said “okay you’re healthy I have nothing to worry about” haha. I left the office at maybe 8:50 and Ubered to the xray office, maybe a 10 min drive. X ray didn’t take too long either. After the x ray the lab is just down the street, maybe a two minute walk away. The lab was a 30 min wait, and I ended up finishing all of my stuff at around 10:15 am! If anybody has any questions about my experience or about the office or anything let me know!!

Husband did his medical with Dr. Mascarenhas last Tuesday 11/17. The results were sent electronically to the embassy today. Im so relieved! The doctor’s office said they would need 10 business days and they did it in 6. Interview is in less than a week!

Approved! My son and I are on the train heading home now.
When the interview notice came through my son's interview was actually listed as 15 minutes after mine. I explained to the security guard he is a minor (at least for a couple more weeks 🤪) so he let him in with me and instructed me to tell them upstairs why he was early.
I only gave them the documents they specifically asked for. The lady took my originals first and then my son's. She only wanted one photo each which she scanned and gave back to us (I gave her the stamped ones but she did not appear to check for this). As we had to update our police certificates I only gave her the new ones. (Mine looked like the sample on our spreadsheet and was accepted).
Likewise, when she asked about the I-864 since I brought a new one she only wanted that one. I did not have a 2019 transcript but the copy of the 1040 and W-2s was accepted with no issues. I did notice the main thing they were looking for was the new I-864 was actually signed by the petitioner. (Also, for anyone who is required to file form 8938 they DO want a copy of this if you are providing tax return copies).
We waited about 40 minutes to get called back up for the actual interview. The interviewer was very pleasant and nice. I think I got asked every question others reported combined and then some lol (who is your petitioner, when did you meet, where do each of you live, what does he do, have you been married before, when did you get divorced, do you have any children together, any other kids for each of you, have you been outside of the US, have you been to the US, longest time in the US, any trouble with the law or immigration, etc).
Since my son is 17 we didn't know what to expect as I couldn't find reviews talking about older children interviews. They did ask him some direct questions as well (is he in school or finished, what does he plan to do, is he excited to move to US, has he had any trouble with the law or immigration and if he was married now or ever had been married. She explained they ask this because it impacts the type of visa he would be eligible for. )
At the end she said she was going to approve us. I got the welcome to the US paper. We were in there about an hour and 40 minutes total. When we got back to the hotel I checked our status on CEAC and it has already changed to ISSUED pending further processing.
Sorry for the lengthy post; I found other reviews helpful in preparing for today and hope this is of benefit to others.
To everyone else still waiting hang in there. This is a horrible process that tests your nerves, patience and perseverance. Your time will come (even if it feels like it won't) . For those with their interviews in the next few weeks best of luck!

I did some research on my own and checked with Dr. Zatzman on this as well. Getting the first dose of the vaccine will suffice for immigration purposes. I think this might be worthy to include in the FAQ!

The monthly Visa and Non-Visa Issuance Reports are out. Just food for thought. Even though only 5 persons from the Spreadsheet got IR1/CR1 interviews in October of 2020, the Consulate Issued 16 CR1's, 90 IR1's and 18 IR2's. They issued 61 K1's the same month. It will be interesting to see the November Issuances Report in late Deember.

You’ll need another form of Canadian ID to get back home

Usually you have at least 3 weeks notice for your interview but my husband only has 2.. so keep in mind you may not have time to get another pcc when you get your interview letter.

My wife had her interview Wednesday October 28th. It was very straightforward and she was told she was approved. Tracking number issued Friday October 30 and Visa Received Tuesday November 3. POE Wednesday November 4 at Plattsburgh NY. She said it seemed so strange to see no cars and it so quiet as we have driven back and forth for years when we lived in the US before. It took about an hour and she said mostly because most of the agents said they had not done one of these before. So it became a training event for about 8 border agents watching the Senior Officer. There was also about 20 minutes waiting for the fingerprint machine to work. They looked at her declaration form but never looked in the SUV.
Arrived Charleston Friday November 6th. Reissued Social Security card arrived November 16. Green Card arrived yesterday Nov 21!
Such a totally different and painful experience from the first time we lived in the USA. In hindsight me coming to Montréal to work was a train wreck on every level. I worked for a very corrupt international organization. When I found another job back in the US I had to leave my wife behind in Canada. Now it’s all over. I wish every Spouse is reunited soon!

This afternoon I drove South in my U-Haul to the Coutts/Sweetgrass,MT poe. Pulled into secondary. “Paperwork” took about 30 minutes. I handed them a typed out list of contents of my truck and approx value. They skimmed through it. They did not search the truck. All were friendly and professional to deal with. Interesting thing said was that greencard would take 8 months. (But recent forum members have received theirs in 1-2 months).
anyhow: 2700km of driving left to reach destination.
