How accurate is the USTRAVELDOCS status checker when you log in?
Long story short, we went to our interview, got an AP / 221G notice with a short list of documents we needed to submit to continue our case. Submitted all them to CEAC and physically to one of the official drop off locations, a few weeks ago. We got an email from USTRAVELDOCS stating that my spouse passport was ready to be picked up from the location I selected when registering for his visa.
My hubby never gave anyone his passport since it wasn’t checked on the list nor did they ask for it. So what is there for him to pick up? Confused!

If you submitted the requested documents all you can do now is wait, and hope for the best. Good luck!
Thank you! Yeah, I was just making sure that’s what the process really was and I wasn’t suppose to do anything else.

May I ask, how you managed to add them to a US bank account if they aren't resident in the US and don't have an SSN? I've run into this recently.
One of my banks allowed it after I filled out a W8BEN for my spouse. My spouse has a us taxpayer ID # since I filed joint with him this year.

This isn’t a refusal.
What did they ask for and what did you submit?
WeChat records, relationship photos and a notarized letter describing our relationship.
We submitted all of that and on top of it, I added him as joint owner on one of my bank accounts and beneficiary on another.

It says the documents you need to upload are listed on page 2 so it sounds like missing docs. What were the documents listed on the second page? Upload whatever they requested on the 221G to where it tells you to listed on the paper
Yeah, we did that already a couple weeks ago. They were missing more relationship evidence. Haven’t heard anything since. I’m not sure how accurate the case tracker on ustraveldocs is but for some reason, it says his passport is at the consulate.. but he still has his passport as they never asked for that.

Has anyone received a refusal for under section 221g at the interview? What is the process after that?

What did they request? And what did you send in?
They originally requested my/petitioner’s latest tax transcript and then thru RFE for my w2.
Also my spouse’s police certificate, birth certificate, our marriage certificate and copy of his passport, all translated and notaries copies.

Finally got CC after not one but two RFEs at NVC. 😅😐

At my i130 stage, they requested my name change order so I sent that in. Got approved a month later.
NVC originally requested my current tax return and my spouses police certificate, marriage certificate, birth certificate and passport.
They RFE’d me and asked for my W2. So I sent in my W2 and also the official IRS tax transcript.

Definitely something is going inside Nebreska. Management there for sure is not giving priority to US citizens. If you see the USCIS timelines in their website permanent resident has given the more perference over US Citizen. They are approving i -130 spouse petition 4 months ahead of US citizens.
- currently they are taking 2 months to finish 1 month of petition.
-even in USCIS case tracker app shows that i-130 is the only petition which is left behind since June 2018. Rest of other petition like i-140, i-131, i-765 are getting approve in just few months after petition is filed.
- a lot of RFE’s are being sent .
Something is going on there... 🤔🤔
I’m at NVC stage (thank god), BUT I got RFE’d twice so far at NVC (once during my i130) Anyone one else experienced this? Lol.

Good luck to everyone on ILs this month. I’m still patiently waiting. 💁🏼♀️🙈

Thank you. ☺️
It came from an email with the subject “Immigrant Visa Interview Appointment” and both my husband and I received it.
Guess nothing new for me then 😅😂 I was trying to give myself false hope! Hopefully I’ll get something in the next couple weeks or so,
that’ll be my one month mark from CC.

You are right but I started being impatient for waiting for the interview date as it has been over 13 months since we submitted our I-130. Truly hope we all will see the interview flood in this week. 🤞🏻
I see you got your onto your next step, congrats! Does it come as a letter or email or what kinda notification is it? And who receives it?

You finally got your CC, congrats!!
They usually start scheduling interview from about 10th to 18th each month from what I observed for the past few months. So you may still have chance to catch this batch of scheduling. I’m still waiting my date and I have been waiting for 3 weeks. It is really like forever 😞
Thank you! I was about to start getting worried if I didn’t 😅
Looking on the bright side, at least this wait will never be as long as the original i130 wait!

Called NVC just now and got on hold over an hour but no helpful information is available.
The lady said she can’t see specific interview scheduling info for my Consulate. She just told they have started scheduling for June that is I know it already.
Just wait of time for calling.😞
Feels like this wait bout to be forever! Is it normally about a month after CC for them to send out a letter scheduling your interview?

What document is that?
So it just took 6 days for them to review your documents which is quicker than mine. It seems NVC have reviewed the documents in a shorter time recently. Sorry that you need to resubmit documents and hope they will also review and accept it shortly. 🤞
It was his birth certificate, I think it was because I only submitted 2 pages (original + translated original) and they might of wanted the notary certification and translated version of that as well, 4 pages 🤷🏼♀️

Our timelines are almost the same again. Wish us luck! I think our 2 cases may be the last 2 cases among the April filers. 😅
That’s true! They’re giving China filers such a hard time 😅😂
best of luck to us and of course everyone else😇

Just like my case, assuming NVC will review and approved my case in 2-3 weeks, I would get the CC in 1st or 2nd week of May. According to my consulate’s schedule, it usually takes 1.5 months from CC to interview. So I think June is my interview month. LOL
You can check your consulate’s schedule updated by other VJ users in the CC to Interview thread. There is a spreadsheet to keep track other users’ schedule.
Sweet! Thanks for the info! Just submitted all my documents! Waiting for the next stage 🤩

What’s the process after the NVC stage? Does my overseas spouse receive a package with the required checklist prior to the scheduled interview?

Yeah, I also received the case # by email and have just paid! I’m so surprised we got the case # less than 5 weeks! Hope our coming process will be as smooth and fast as this. 😄

Sure hope so! Our case has been seeing updates at literally about the same times! Such a coincidence.
