At the moment ours is in administrative processing, it has changed a few times the past few days from AP to ready then back to AP again, i think they've been touching our case or updating it each day except the weekend too, but nothing has actually happened yet, well see tommorow. Im so sorry to hear that yours has taken so long though- i cant imagine- thinking your at the last week or 2 and turns out your waiting through the holidays too! Wishing you Good luck- keep us posted!

My status changed to Issued this afternoon! Your wish of good luck obviously helped so i will return the favour, hope you get the news you've been waiting for soon!! :D

Hello everyone! Hopefully some people are still active on here! I had my interview jan 2nd - they were awaiting my medical - even though id done that 2 weeks prior to interview haha- but i called on monday and the medical people said theyd sent it that day and yesterday and today i checked ceac and it said our case had been touched today and yesterday.... i suppose what i wanted to ask is how many weeks/ days did you guys wait from interview to passport in hand? Because im MISSING my love AND there are some great flight deals but i dont want to book till im sure i can make it!

    Thanks guys

In my personal case I'm still waiting to get my passport back after having my medical on November 15th & interview on November 26th. My case was approved at interview pending medical results which i know were sent to the embassy on November 22nd (confirmed by Knightsbridge).

I assume everything was fine with them as i haven't been contacted to say otherwise but i haven't had any information to say the embassy received my results (actually emailed them yesterday to see if they could confirm).

My last case update was January 3rd and i've been in 'Ready' on the CEAC page ever since i started checking it on December 5th, I’ve only seen my case update on the following dates - Dec 3rd, Dec 13th (prompted due to email my lawyer sent on my behalf) & Jan 3rd.

Not really sure what the hold up is with my case but assume there is a pretty big backlog of files without medicals on day of interview, i've also seen on here people being handed 221(g) forms for no medical results with their case, for me this wasn't the case.

I'm sure the days the embassy has been closed due to holidays hasn't helped with my particular case, so fingers crossed they start issuing the assumed backlog (no evidence just my assumption) within the coming weeks. My visa type is an Employment based Green Card so i don't know if they get processed differently than K-1's.

Is your current visa status in 'Ready' or 'Administrative Processing'? I'll be interested to see how your case progresses compared with mine.

After a long month I finally have the visa in hand.

All I expect the delay was, was me being put to the back of the line after my medical not being there on the day. They will get to it eventually and as soon as they do the process takes a few days at most, I booked my flight before getting the visa (this isn't advised) but I managed to get it when they said they would deliver it (today) and everything is good.

So I'm on my way Jan 4th, thanks for all the help in this forum!

    Congratulations, and safe travels!

My status is still on 'Ready' but after seeing your process progress as it has, i'm hoping mine will get going after New Years Day. Will update as and when.

    Also, Happy New Year! :D

Issued today around 11am. I'm so relieved after that huge feeling of being trapped in limbo. If your case is behind or slower than they said it would be, best to assume they have a backlog but I'm sure they get to them all.

Congratulations! Mine is still in 'Ready' but as we had exactly the same situation i imagine mine will change in the not too distant future. Just going to forget about checking the CEAC website and enjoy the holidays for now :D.

Sent up an email asking if I'm missing anything or if anything is wrong. Hopefully it prompts them to do anything, hoping next week it starts. Seeing the word ready gives me nightmares

I know the feeling, just hoping the process starts shifting on Monday. Seeing other people with this problem and getting resolved before me is strange to say the least, especially when they were interviewed after our interview date. Feeling pretty hopeless in this whole situation!

Hi @pknick, yes I received my passport a few days after. The status quickly changed from Ready to AP with a new creation and case updated date, then to Ready again and then to Issued. I then checked status on USTravelDocs website by entering my passport number and it said ready to pickup, so I just went and picked up my passport from the pickup location that I had selected.

Hi @ds2did your status change from Ready-AP-Ready-Issued over the course of one day or over a few? Thanks!

We have been in AP since we noticed. We didnt start checking for a week or more after the interview as I was there in the UK visiting but of course with no update since Nov 19th it might have gone straight into NIV AP or it could have rapidly changed as many do and then become stuck in the secondary AP.

Understood, I hope you (and everyone else that's been waiting more than the norm) get issued early this coming week. I don't know if it being the week before Christmas will benefit or hinder us 😕.

Same thing as us, 10 days prior on Nov 16th we were approved at interview but sometimes a name can hit in their last check before issuance and with all the holidays and closures and vacations everything is slowed way down so even something that has normally taken a week or two to clear up is taking way longer. We are at 4 weeks now and this is an email we received yesterday when asking if they have all needed documents?

Damn, sorry to hear that. Very strange it seems to happen to only a select few. There are a few differences I see between your case and mine though, one of which is that you're in 'AP' whilst i'm stuck in 'Ready', was that the same case for you for the first few weeks then you got changed to 'AP' or was your Visa Status always in 'AP' since your interview? Thanks for sharing your info btw :)

    It's happened before.

I thought I had read somewhere that some peoples status had changed during the weekend, thanks for confirming. I'm not going to hold my breath though. Seeing as my interview was approved on November 26th with no 221g I was expecting at least a shift from 'Ready' by now. 14 working days and still not issued is starting to worry me slightly, especially as my intended travel date was marked as December 18th at the Embassy.

No updates since the 11th, was hoping there'd be one today. This is killing me, last day of work at least

No update for me either mate. Embassy closes at 5.30pm so have a few hours at least for something to shift. Not sure if CEAC status's change after the embassy closes / on weekends?

Thanks for your response to my previous post also. Not only did we have our interview the same day but also our medical! They must be unlucky dates 😐

No update for me since the 11th, glad to see they're looking at yours. Hope it comes soon

Case update seem's to be prompted by the response to my lawyers email. The response being the generic "Average processing time is 7-10 working days". It also said my "Case is still under review with the consular officer". I'm sure you received a similar email when you contacted them?

I see they located your medical on the 28th and put it with your file, what was the date of your Medical Examination? Just trying to work some sort of timeline out for when they would have received mine. Thanks!

  13. @DeclanW this morning my case was updated from 3-Dec-2018 to 13-Dec-2018 but it's still on Ready. My lawyer did send an inquiry to the embassy yesterday evening on my behalf so don't know if that has anything to do with it but i noticed from your previous posts that it normally takes a couple of days to get a response from the embassy via email. Hopefully this is a step in the right direction!

Yes sorry, I forgot to mention it.

I said I hope to be there for mid december, but I imagine they'd try to get it done before mid december if they constantly advice not booking until the visa is in-hand

No problem! I said the same thing. I noticed after i said "hopefully within two weeks" my interviewer wrote down "December 18th" at the top of my file. Not really sure what to read into that to be honest haha.

  15. I'm not sure if i've been on Ready for the entirety of these past two weeks as i only started checking my Visa Status daily on the 5th of this month.

As i said my case was updated on the 3rd, whether i went into AP then back to Ready on the 3rd i have no idea. I wish they implemented some sort of timeline along with the Status Check as it gives you virtually no information on how the process is progressing.

I'm trying to keep optimistic and think we'll be updated by Friday. Did you give them an intended travel date for your return to the US?

    Thank you :)

After my interview my case went straight into AP. I had my interview on November 27th and my medical was on November 26th. My case was expedited though and they forgot to take the payment, so I had to go back down to the embassy (Although my medical had not yet arrived by that point).

Here's to hoping! Looking at flights for Saturday, prices are going up for Christmas though.

    Thanks for the insight!

Wishing you a safe journey. 😁

Visa got issued today, hopefully yours changes real soon too!

Congratulations, hopefully you'll receive your passport within the next couple of days! What was the date of your interview at the embassy if you don't mind me asking? Also, was your CEAC status on 'AP' or 'Ready before it got changed to 'Issued'. Once again, Congrats!

I've had nothing back today, I'm thinking they read my email and didn't reply updating my case and putting it back in the backlog.

I'm a pessimist right now though

This is my 1st post on here and created my account just to respond to your thread to let you know I'm in exactly the same situation as you.

Although different visa's (I had my employment based interview approved on November 26th in LDN) my CEAC status seems to be stuck on 'Ready' with the last case update on December 3rd.

My medical wasn't with my file when i attended my interview but was assured over the phone by Knightsbridge Visa Medical's that they sent my medical to the embassy on November 22nd so i assume it's found its way to my file by now.

I have no idea why its taking so long to be issued but guess its just part of the process for some of us unlucky ones! Do you know what was put down as your intended travel date to the US?
