also NVC does not have any information...still can't get in, but I'm glad @Sea Leslie was able to get access hopefully it means the rest of us will be able to get in soon.
-
Does anyone know if NVC will give an update if we call? We are waiting for the visa to be issued...would they have that information?
-
Yup, same issue!

Thanks so much for checking!

Hi friends,
Can anyone check if you're able to view your visa status this morning? When I enter the CAPTCHA the system comes with "The code entered does not match the code displayed on the page." even thought is does match.
I tried using different browsers but the same issue persists. I'm hoping it will be back to normal by tomorrow...our visa should be issued soon!
THANKS!

Nope, it shouldn't cost you your visa. At your interview make sure to let the officer know of the mistake, you'll have your passport there with the correct date.

@YP950 I am including some links to the translations I used from Mexican documents, perhaps some of the wording might help. I put them all on scribd, and if you find any of them useful you can download them to edit them as needed.
Good Luck!
Mexican Birth Certificate Translation / Traducción de Acta de Nacimiento Mexicano
IFE Card Translation (pdf, can be edited in Photoshop)
Mexican Rental Agreement Translation
Wow thank you so much!!

NVC received my case yesterday, how long does it take for case number?
Hey! Congrats! My case was received on the 25th and I got the case number yesterday, so one week. However, there are some individuals on here who are getting case numbers really fast, like within 3 days. So maybe start calling on Tuesday and then every day after that until you get it.
On the days I called at exactly 9am EST I got through to a person within 5 minutes. Yesterday I called them at around 11am EST and it took me over 45 minutes to get through.

We were assigned a case number today! Exactly one week after our case was received at the NVC.
So excited about the next steps, really didn't think things would be moving so quickly!!

Hi everyone!
I am currently going through the K1 process with my Colombian fiancé. He happens to live in Israel so we are having to translate a few of his documents since they are in Spanish and Israel is not a Spanish speaking country.
Anyway, I'm wondering if anyone has a translation into English of the CERTIFICADO DE ANTECEDENTES? Obviously without any personal information.
I am doing the translation of the documents and it would be really helpful to see what the legal wording looks like in English.
I've attached the part that I'm wondering about.
Thank you so much!

Thanks y'all! I'm gonna get to work on the documents!

you can translate yourself and have it notarized. That's what I did. Free and accepted by USCIS. Just include the small paragraph that you are certified to translate and the date, etc. Will be more than sufficient.
Even for birth certificates it's ok?

The evidence standard is a legible photocopy. There is only one documemnt that requires a "wet" signature and that is the signature of the petitioner on the I-129F form itself
Thank you!!

Hi friends!
I have to have some of my fiancé's documents translated. I'm wondering what your experience is with online translations that just send a pdf of translation and certification. There are a few companies here in town but they charge up to three times as much. Do I need the translation with a wet signature or is the online one ok?
Thanks!

Case numbers are assigned usually 2-5 days from when they receive the case. The first post by @greenbaum details all of this
Yup, you're right in that the first post details this information
It's been 5 days, still no case number. So we wait.

It's currently taking exactly 2 weeks from your NOA date for the NVC to receive, but it wont be in the system until the following day. Good luck and welcome!
I'm not sure that's true for everyone. I just called NVC this morning and my case was received on April 25th, NOA2 was dated April 15th...so just a bit under 2 weeks.
The person I spoke with said to allow up to 8 weeks for the case number to be assigned 😂🙈🙈😳
I was thinking of calling in a week, does anyone know how long it's taking for case numbers to be assigned?
-
We sent our petition on January 4th 2019, and our letters of intent were dated December 3, 2018..our case was just approved about two weeks ago. We had wet signatures on both letters, but lots of people here have been able to send printouts of the original letters (without wet signatures).
Good luck!

@Greenbaum is it as simple as him saying, "my fiancée misspelled my father's last name, here is the correct spelling on my birth certificate"? Also is it something he should bring up or just let it be if they don't ask?
-
Hi friends!
So I just realized that on the original I-129f I misspelled my fiancé's father's second last name. Is this something that could easily be fixed at the time of the interview or does it have to be fixed before the petition gets to the embassy?
(our petition was approved about a week ago, and he will probably interview in July).
Thanks!

Hmm, so what is the new site then? That's the site I've been using, I didn't know of another.
This is the new website: https://myaccount.uscis.dhs.gov/
you have to create an account and add your case.

Thanks for that information. I will probably include at least some screen shots of communication at least to show we communicate very regularly (we actually communicate everyday but i'm thinking maybe showing on a few times per month and i hope to get conversations talking about our wedding plans in there). I have only visited him once so i only have pictures from that visit but i do have a ton of pictures. I even have them posted to facebook and have thought about printing them from there as it will have time stamps and location stamps on the photos. One thing i would like to also have is just an good example of a love letter and an affidavit of support as i have had trouble finding those.
I think you can definitely do that!
I didn't include a love letter. I just included a short statement on how we met in the lines provided in the application. I know that lots of people include love letters, but I don't think they are necessary. However, if you want to include one I would make it super simple and just include how you met, and how you established a relationship. Again, I think the more they have to read the longer this process takes. For ours I just included what was asked for and for proof of having met I included pictures of our time together with a short description (location and month and year it was taken).
The affidavit of support is a document that your fiance will take with him to his interview, so you don't have to worry about that right now. It's called form I-134, it's pretty straight forward.
