Go back and visit the SSA again if it’s past the 4 weeks and you have nothing. They might need to reopen your case again (it happened to me). The sooner you go to talk in person the better because you only have a limited amount of time to actually apply for one. 2 weeks before your 90 day period is when they’ll stop allowing you to apply and you’ll have to wait until you get your EAD so get in to see them if you can.

My process:
12th May: Arrived in US
31st May: Applied for social security card at SSA
9th July: Returned to SSA to see what was taking so long as I hadn’t received my card. They said they couldn’t verify my status as my middle names (I have 2) had been added to my first name as my given name. This is because this is how it is displayed on my passport and therefore also the I-94. They ended up submitting a new SAVE case but told me to contact DHS as it would probably be rejected again. I emailed SAVE.help@uscis.dhs.gov to explain the situation but received no response and didn’t expect one really but figured I’d try it as my final attempt to get the card before sending my AOS application. Who knows if it helped or not but I got the card.
22nd July: Card was issued
28th July: Received card in the mail
I ended up mailing my AOS/EAD/AP applications off on July 24th and turns out they mailed my SS card on the same date. I did tick the box to receive a SSN with my EAD but won’t be needing that now.

Im also from the UK and have 2 middle names which they added to my first name so it caused problems during the verification. Be sure to go right back into the SSA after the 4 weeks if you do not receive it. I had to and they had to create a new case all over again. You can actually check the case status on here to see if SSA has received a response on your case.

Call the SSA office you applied at, they can provide more accurate information.
Yeah I did but couldn’t get through earlier today and they closed at 12 so I can wait it out until they open.

My card took about 10 days to arrive, with the 4th coming it may be next week.
You’re lucky! I applied on May 31st and still nothing even though the SAVE case was returned early June. The helpline number they give is all automated and useless so just going to have to wait til next week to go to the SSA and ask about it.

Thank you all for your replies - I called the office today because I had nothing else to do, and it's been processed!
Manual verification only took a week, good news for future filers!
Hey, did you receive your card in the mail yet? I’m at the 5 weeks mark and the SAVE case was returned to the agency around 10 days but I haven’t received anything. Planning on calling in to check on it.

Seems like an awful waste of time to put together chat logs never mind go through the effort to have them translated. If you send them in not translated it just acts as further evidence USCIS does not read them as everything should be in English for them. If translated and at a rare chance someone does take the time to read them they could end up picking them apart. The way I see it is chats should remain private and it is pretty weak evidence.
Focus on trips you have had together, passport stamps, boarding passes (stuff that is dated) and letters of intent to marry in 90 days. This is what they want to see.

We just finished filling out the DS-160 and there was no pay, I thought there was a fee of $265 for the DS-160, I'm guessing no?
Also, I am just making sure so when it happens here shortly, as far as I understand it, we can now go ahead and schedule the medical, and with us knowing the date of the medical we then can schedule the interview for 2 weeks after the medical?
Can we schedule the medical without having packet 3 in hand at the time?
There’s no fee for the DS160 form. You pay a fee when you book your interview. You’ll not be able to actually book your interview until your status says Ready.
You can book the medical as long as you have your case number and the required documents; police certificate, medical summary, vaccination record and something to show your case number. The NVC will email you when your case ships so you can use that. Keep in mind that your visa entry will be dated to expire 6 months from your medical date not the interview date.
You don’t need “packet 3” for it. This is just one page that is mailed to you about a week after your case gets shipped to the embassy and it has a link to the official embassy instructions on their site.

Hi everyone, I have my interview this Thursday in London. I received the email from the embassy today with the information for the appointment but I’m just confused as to what the appointment instruction page is that I’m supposed to print.
Any ideas what this is? What did you guys bring?
Thank you!
Hey scroll to page 3 of this thread. I answered it there with screenshots

Yayyyyy @O-J!!! Sooo happy for you!
Can I ask you a quick question? What kind of bag did you bring in to the embassy? My fiance has his interview tomorrow and hes wondering if his laptop bag is acceptable to bring in?
Thanks so much and CONGRATULATIONS!!! When do you fly out?
Thank you 😁 I didn’t actually take a bag in. Just an expandable folder with the documents. You’re allowed a laptop sized bag though so he will be fine with that.
May 12th I’m outta here 💃🏻 Handed my work notice in today too so last month of work!

I just filled in my DS160. Where and how do I pay visa fee? and do I schedule interview myself for K1? or wait for embassy to schedule it for me?
You pay the fee when you book the interview online. You book it yourself if your case says it’s ready on the ceac site then that interview site will let you book it.

Hi, I have my interview tomorrow and just wondering about the appointment email... I have everything else. I'm wondering if this the instructions page to print? and if not, I haven't received an email saying the appointment date/time...I just scheduled it myself...
thank you in advance
Hey, on the interview site there should be buttons like these and I took that with me. It had the appointment time on it and a receipt of my payment. Best of luck

My delivery was cocked up by DXdelivery and the passport service, was supposed to be delivered on Friday, will hopefully get it Monday or I’m gonna lose my s***! I had to take leave from work to be at home for the delivery.. smh!
I wonder if I can get a refund on my delivery costs ...???
😲 no way! That sucks. I had someone else sign for mine for that reason. The delivery person sent me a text asking to reply if anyone would be home for it that afternoon. Sadly I doubt they’ll refund you but hopefully you’ll get it Monday 🤞🏻

Great! It’s definitely worth a visit in person when dealing with SSA. I had no luck at all over the phone. Good luck 😊
