You read wrong.   A number has nothing to do with EAD specifically.   It is assigned to anyone who has been the beneficiary of a petition

    Thanks for your reply

so now i have to fill out the A number in every single page of the form

cause there are these empty boxes where I should fill out the A number on top of almost every page in i 485

should i fill them all ?

    thanks in advance

  2. HI everyone,

I just wanted a quick confirmation from my fellow forum members.

I am currently filing a Adjustment of Status for my Green card. I am pretty much done with the whole application but just want to know if "A number" is applicable to me?

I have read that A number is for people who have previously filed for EAD but i havent filed any application before so i read that A number does not apply to me.

However, i just saw that there is a A number assigned to me in my NOA2 letter.

    Please advice

    Thank you
    have a good day/night

    Hi,

We're petitioning for a CR-1 visa and we uploaded everything to the CEAC, but they replied with accepting all documents exepct the birth certificate and it said "Please replace this with an acceptable birth certificate from a correct issuing authority. Please use our Document Finder at https://nvc.state.gov/find for acceptable documents guidelines"

What I uploaded was a PDF file with both the original Arabic one that I got from the Civil office and a translated copy from the Ministry of Health and Population. Is there another version I should get?

Also, it said that the sponsor (who's also the petitioner) does not meet the minimum income requirement to be a sponsor, even though she does. So what's going on with that as well?

    Thank you,

For the birth certificate you should get a bilingual birth certificate from civil status organization in abasseya it comes in both Arabic and English language

No need for a translated copy cause it will be issued in both the languages

    All of this!!!!

OP you definitely should not have had a celebration or party or anything that would resemble a wedding

Hopefully it works out for you, but if not be prepared for a real wedding and a CR1

We did it cause my family wouldn't let me leave with my fiance without the celebration

Actually we tried to get married before applying for a k1 but it was a very complicated process and my fiance didn't have that much vacation days to spend in Egypt until we get married so we applied for a k1

And we mentioned this when we filed for our k1 visa

Your Lawyer was wrong in advising you to send pictures with a family gathering. I don't know what the overall picture of the gathering suggestions but from the questions you received from your call from the embassy I suspect they see it "maybe" as a wedding celebration. Keep in mind this is only my speculation. You did do a smart thing my correcting her on the "husband" reference as I think that was the path she was heading down.

There have been may cases that what you see as a "party" to what the CO sees as a possible "wedding". I would hate to see you come all this way and get denied because of an innocent picture. Here are some examples and from there you'll need to make your own decision. If you want more information than in the upper right corner of this page is a search box. Use the words "marriage ceremony" and you will have more examples. http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/641345-k-1-visa-wedding-ceremony/

First thank you so much for your reply

Second we didn't send any pictures of the celebration it was just written

We sent couple of pictures of his family when we invited them for dinner in my house and we were all wearing casual outfits

And thanks for the links i'll go through all of them

  6. Hi everyone

Yesterday i sent my packet 3 to the embassy as my interview date will be on September 15th

Along with packet we sent some pictures together and a short story of what happened in our relationship during the time we filed for the visa and also mentioning the small family celebration we had when his family came to visit me and my family here in Egypt

Actually we were totally against this idea but our lawyer insisted on sending it saying that he did this so many times before

What happened is that i received a call today from Egypt's embassy

An Egyptian lady called and she asked me couple of questions about when was the last time he came to visit and where did we go and what are the exact dates

But she started the questionnaire with the word husband not fiance and i corrected her saying that he is my fiance not my husband

Since i hang up with her i felt so nervous cause the way she was talking it was like she's suspecting that we're married

I just want to know has anyone here ever encountered this before with egypt's embassy?

And Should i be worried about this call?

    Thanks in advance

  7. I don't think they will see your private messages or posts

It's all about making sure that you're not involved in something bad

They check your social media history what you posted and your interests

And all they care about is making sure of two things

You really have a genuine love

And also that you're not a terrorist

Other than that you don't have to worry

And btw i filled out my DS 160 a week ago they ask only about your user name no password

If I remember correctly at the Lagos embassy you had 5 times a day to check and it reset the next day. My now husband definitely got that message as well several times. As soon as May opened up he got one of the first slots.

I really needed to hear that

    Thanks a lot

    And Congratulations for your marriage

Wish you the best in your new life

    Thanks for your advice

  9. @Sarge2155

Thank you so much for your advice

You're absolutely right i'm stressing so much recently about the process and that what caused me this issue cause i followed a wrong advice from someone who adviced me to keep reloading the page and that's why this happened

I'll stop checking for a minimum 24 hours so this message stops appearing

I'll take your advice and slow down

Thanks again for this advice it means a lot really

You only posted your pm to me 4 hours ago. Im usually on it every few hours but i do need my daily sleep.

You're going to need more patience then what you are exhibiting.  Even the interview scheduling website has given you a warning that you are accessing it too much and soon you'll be locked out.

Many of us are here to help but for me its on my timetable to answer or not to answer

I'm really sorry if i caused any disturbance but i was worried about it and i was so desperate for an answer

Again i'm sorry i just hoped that any of VJ members can answer me while i'm waiting for your reply

I'll repeat what I said and that is to find the subforum for your country or region from the blue ribbon above or use the link from #5.

    1. You can start here: https://eg.usembassy.gov/visas/immigrant-visas/fiancee-visa/
    2. Then your portal on VJ here: https://www.visajourney.com/portals/index.php?country=Egypt
    3. Then here for consulate information https://www.visajourney.com/consulates/index.php?ctry=Egypt&cty=Cairo
    4. Then here for Egypt US Consulate Reviews https://www.visajourney.com/reviews/index.php?cnty=Egypt
    5. Also, visit the VJ sub-forum for your region where you can ask questions specific to your country https://www.visajourney.com/forums/forum/97-middle-east-and-north-africa/

    http://www.ustraveldocs.com/eg/eg-niv-paymentinfo.asp#

Normally I would have a P3 letter from your country but yours I do not have. Others have shared with me their P3's which I used to pass on those who come behind you just like I have tried here with you. If you do get a copy, could you share it with me. Just PM me here on VJ with a scanned copy. Thanks.

Thank you so much for your help

    I'll check all the link

And once i receive my P3 email i'll PM you

Thanks again for your efforts i really appreciate it

  12. 44 minutes ago, Greenbaum said:

Each embassy follows different procedures. Some you gather all your documents according to the P3 requirements.  Others require you confirm using a Checklist that you have the required documents.  Still others will require you to send your documents to the embassy and after review the embassy will schedule your interview. So you see your question is difficult to answer because you do not have the P3 to understand what is needed. Here is where your lawyer has let you down.

Can I recommend that you seek out the forum for your country/region to ask your embassy specific questions.  Go to the blue ribbon at the top of this thread and select forums and scroll 3/4 the way down the page and find your country.

Actually i checked the forums and i found a link for my embassy which has this info and i haven't received any emails from my embassy since they received my case so i'm so confused

  13. Hi everyone, good day..

Now i filled out the DS 160 and i'll pay visa fee tomorrow so i can schedule my interview appointment

But i have few questions about the next steps

First: How can i get a bilingual birth certificate

If anyone has done it before please tell me how you did it knowing that i live in Alexandria, Egypt?

Second: do i have to translate the police certificate into English? And do i have to mention that it's for US Visa?

    Last question :

Will i need to send my packet to the embassy before the interview or i can just walk in with it?... cause I asked a lawyer and he said you don't have to send anything to the embassy before the interview and i knew from VJ members that they sent packet 3 to the embassy before the interview

So please guide me in my questions

    Thanks,
