CRBA for my newborn son went very smoothly. Provided college transcript and 3 years worth of W2s. Officer asked me if I went to elementary, middle and high school in USA. He also asked how we met, and just some basic other questions. He then congratulated us and let us know we'll be getting the certificate and passport in the mail in 4 weeks. All in all, great experience. Only difficult part was actually getting the appointment. This required intervention with my congressman.

The process was very smooth. The attitude of the employees there was much better than expected! The most important thing is to be prepared with documents and to answer the officer's questions and not talk over them.

Interview on July 12, 2023. Consular officer asked him about my previous marriages and he had to give details about why I had several divorces. The main thing the officer wanted to know was about my marriages and proof that we had an actual valid relationship. Luckily I had been to Egypt 3 times and had many many pictures with him and family. Officer asked for pictures, nothing else. Asked a few more questions. Interveiw didn't last long, maybe 20 minutes. Received verbal approval and approval letter. My husband felt that it was a positive experience and we were happy and excited. Several days later, we checked on CEAC 'check visa status' because he was told he would be getting his visa issued within 3 business days, and it said REFUSED. We were in a panic wondering what happened. Found out through researching forums that he was placed on administrative processing.
