Sent in my I-751 package last week and got a notification today saying it was received and in Nebraska. Now that I've looked at the processing times, I'm wishing it was pretty much anywhere BUT Nebraska. Looks like this is going to be a long-haul situation like my AOS (an RFE, processing errors, took a year) was. I'll just make myself comfortable in the LIN threads!
The stated processing times are horribly inaccurate. I got my ROC done in less than 11 months from Nebraska. Actually you’ll be glad you got a LIN number in a few months!

Hi iceclub. Thanks for taking the time to reply to my question.
The USCIS processing estimate for my I-751 is 20 months. CSC, where my case is, has a huge case backlog - your case was processed in Nebraska, which tends to do better. That’d put me course for approval mid-2020 (though VJ’s estimate based on member experiences says I can expect approval by Dec 2019. That’d be super. That said, I only completed my biometrics last week, 9 months after filing. 2-3 months more seems.. optimistic.
Yeah, the poor communication between service centers and fields offices (for concurrent adjudication) is a worry. The 10-13 month processing time for N-400 at my local field office is another factor. I’d be looking at citizenship sometime in 2021. I’d rather like to have a say in the 2020 election. It’s also, of course, tempting to get this one final petition done and dusted as quickly as possible. Not dealing with USCIS ever again is a strong motivation.
Those are my reasons for wanting to file sooner and not wait. But, if it will cause an administrative nightmare, screwed up interviews and further confusion at USCIS? Those would be strong reasons against.
Those estimates are wildly inaccurate: check what it says for nebraska. A lot of cases from CSC are being transferred to other centers anyway. I don't think it changes things for you, especially if you want to vote in the election, if you wait for a couple of months.

Apologies if this question has been asked before. I'm an LPR, married to a US citizen and am waiting on my I-751 to be approved (CSC, filed Sept 2018). I'm eligible - and had planned - to file for citizenship next month, based on the 3 year rule, but reading through some of the recent pages in this thread have made me unsure if it's 'better' to wait for the I-751 to be approved and then file for citizenship, or simply apply as soon as possible and hope that USCIS manages to pull of the logistics required for concurrent adjudication of both petitions?
My local office has a 10-13 month processing time on N-400 petitions. CSC is notoriously slow with its I-751 cases (my estimated wait time at filing was 20 months). Those numbers make me think there won't be much harm in applying as soon as possible, given that my local office probably won't pick up the case before the I-751 is approved anyway.
Any experiences or opinions on this most appreciated.
Bariki for what it’s worth I think it’s better if you wait. My ROC took 11 months. They’re picking up the speed on ROCs. As you can see from others experience sometimes the service centers aren’t even talking to one another. I predict you’ll get yours in 2-3 months. Why not wait?

Ahh I see they first rcvd a California number then LIN.. So crazy how they are doing things.. Shaking my head. Thanks for the update!! Hope we all get through sooner rather than later!
I never received a California number. I was in that weird batch that was sent to California but never processed there since they were so behind. My package was routed to Nebraska after being in California for a month, with the check being cashed in Chicago

Both the sites say the same thing now, interesting that the dhs uscis site was slow this time. Not a fluke! Still getting the GC!

I checked my mail box and as happened to @lucky91 and @p-ana anticipated, I also received a biometrics appointment letter. I guess the letter I received back in March saying they would reuse my biometrics was just a joke . Why they even do that? So frustrating!
Now I will follow the example of @cynpen and try a walk in at an Application Support Center out of state. I need to figure out when the office is open and make sure I go there before the scheduled time, which is on July 16.
I did a walk in at STL. It was quite painless

@iceclub @Mike Bico congrats!!! Can’t wait to have that feeling.
you guys are going for the N-400?
Thanks! Not sure yet. Norway doesnt allow dual citizenship, but is likely changing the rules in 2020. Perhaps I will apply early to get citizenship in time for the election, hoping that Norway changes the rules before then

I just received a biometrics appointment letter after a year of waiting and unfortunately need to reschedule Of all the days I've been in the area, it's the week we'll be in a different city.
Anyone else on the same boat as me? It seems the only way to ask for reschedule is thru mailing back the original letter and checking that box (keeping a photocopy of the letter). I'm just worried this will further delay the processing when it already is.
Just do a walk in. That’s what I and several others have done

I have a very similar timeline as yours. I originally sent my case to the California service center but it was transferred to Texas so I have an SRC case number. Was your case transferred as well?
Texas seems to be slower than Nebraska. I am at Nebraska and a very similar timeline. All the cases around my receipt number are still pending except for two (checked 500). It’ll still be a while

Looks like my hunch was right: Nebraska is moving fast. First few approvals from August came in today. So improved from 13 month approvals to 11 months for the earliest approvals

LIN, I also got my bio-metrics letter. My appointment is for July 2nd. I am leaving for Colombia tomorrow. I tried calling today to reschedule but they said the people I was supposed to wasn't available. I am mailing back the letter for the appointment with a request. What else can I do? I don't want they to say that I abandoned my case when I have been waiting for this for so long.
I know you are leaving tomorrow, but if you could delay till Monday you could do a walk in. That is what I did, I went almost a week early and had my biometrics done

Hello friends,
I thought i would give my update here. We mailed our I-751 form on Jun 16, 2018. We received on April 9, 2019 NOA, that our application is being worked on and that we do not need to appear for biometrics. We have not gotten any updates since. When we go to the website and type in our case number there is no updates on there at all. We ended up going to Migration Center in December last year and spoke with their representative. And they told us that it was to early in the process for our case, and we need to give it more time.
I got a question, the 18 month extension of green card is about to expire in September. If we do not get the condition on green card removed and extension expires, what are our next steps? Do we have to apply for another extension of the green card?
Best Regards,
Nermin
I think I am not understanding as to why your 18 month extension will be up in September 2019, when you just applied in June 18. That should at least mean that your i751 is valid till Dec 19

Did a walk in for biometrics today. Had no issues

I see a bunch of people have received fingerprint letters, great to see stuff moving at last. Just wanted to see if any of those you just received the biometrics letter had previously been sent letters saying their fingerprints would be reused? Just want to know whether I need to be keeping an eye on my mailbox right now, I only received the biometrics waiver a week or two ago!
I did not, in fact this was the first notice of any kind I received since the NOA
-
Also received biometrics letter, will try to do an early walk in. Case is at Nebraska. I think they're finally getting to our cases, we should see movement soon

3. 2018 - 2019 water bill reflecting me and my husband’s name with our physical address
4. A copy of last will and testament and deed of gift from my late mother in law showing my husband’s name and the physical address.
5. Copy of credit card statement from 2018 to 2018 showing me and my husband’s name
6. Pictures taken from 2018 to 2019
I hope these docs is sufficient enough as evidence.
wish me luck!
I still think you should get state IDs, it’s something they explicitly asked for, otherwise it looks good

Which center did you file your I-751 to? Then was transfer to Nebraska?
I remember Nebraska center didn't directly receive 751 until September 2018.
Yes that’s correct: Nebraska started as a center in September. I submitted mine though towards the end of August to California. It was never ‘received’ by California and was diverted to Arizona eventually in September

Ok, got my letter from USCIS:
Good faith Marriage, Insufficient Evidence.
They want me to send evidence that we have resided together and shared common residence such as:
1. Leases in both names showing joint occupancy
2. Deeds and mortgages in both names showing joint ownership or
**we dont have these documents as we are living in my husband’s family home and is not named after him as his parents passed without doing so. It is not uncommon here in Guam for extended families living in one roof. We are actually saving enough money for closing costs as we plan to build our own place next year.
3. Copies of your and your petitioning spouse’s drivers licenses and/or identity cards from appropriate state’s motor vehicle department.
*i never learned how to drive. My husband or my son drives/pick me up to/from work.
Evidence you and your spouse have combined financial resources or joint ownership of assets and responsibility for liabilities such as:
1. Checking, savings or investment accounts statements showing transaction pages.
2. Loan or credit card account statements.
* we have Credit Card statements showing our name.
Evidence you and your spouse made estate, health and financial planning arrangements with each other as a will, trust or durable power of attorney for health or property or both.
*Is it too late for us to do this?
Any other relevant documents not already mentioned. - I can send them another copies of our pictures together at our company 2018 Christmas party, also updated 2018 W2.
This is very frustrating, it is giving us stress as we cannot provide everything they need.
MyDy I think you should get a will done. i did, it really doesn't take too long. While others might disagree with me, I think you should also open up a joint checking account (with funds of course) and use that as evidence as well. While you do not know how to drive, get state IDs from the DMV: it will serve the same purpose and show that you are living in the same house. It seems that USCIS is looking for financial comingling, I don't think pictures will help as much. In regards to living arrangements, have your parents write you a statement explaining that you are living with them.
