Good morning everyone! So our AOS interview is tomorrow!!! I have all the required documents gathered! But I have one question: We have proof that we have a legit marriage! We have joint bank account, car insurance, health insurance, correspondence, pictures, the house hold bills under my husband’s name who is the beneficiary, but we don't have an official rental lease because the owner of the apartment has been traveling and never has time to come over and give us a lease! But we do have a letter of agreement that is signed by him, my husband and myself! It shows the address, our  names and the agreement we made! Since all our correspondence, bills, my paychecks, bank statements, car insurance and health insurance show our current address, will that be sufficiently for the USCIS officer to consider that we do live together and that we have legitimate marriage???

You should be fine ! At our interview they did not ask at all for any proof we lived together and took probably everything your taking. It really all depends on the person who is interviewing but you have more than enough to prove your marriage is legit and live together. Sending prayers 🙏🏽

Correct regarding card delays. Not expecting mine anytime sooon. Officer mentioned this could take 3 month to produce but I could call if an emergency popped up. If you plan to travel you can ask for the passport stamp but I didn’t try because seemed pointless with COVID. I received my physical approval notices today.

Just wanted share from our case, they told us the same about card delays, but yesterday we got an update that green card was made and mailed out. Our interview was August 7th so that’s fast!

omg! I can't believe they've finally started scheduling appointments! is your local office in Phoenix?

Well we live in Tucson AZ so our local office would be here, when I made my profile Tucson wasn’t an option only Phoenix was on there. Are you an October filer? Our case is a little different so idk if maybe that’s why we got an update, my husband is here and has been her since he was 6 and he is under TPS so our process was a bit different, but wishing the best for everybody! 🙏🏽

Hello fellow October filers. It's been pretty quiet on our thread lately, so I thought I would share some potentially good news with you. I found this post on the December 2019 K-1 AOS filers thread (it's not my case status). This person is assigned to the Kansas City field office, and their appointment letter gave them an August 3rd interview date.

So, let's hope that we can all post something similar soon. Good luck everyone!

Hello, I’m an October filer and we received this update on Friday as well. Hoping you all receive updates like ours! 🙏🏽 I can give an update when we do receive the letter and what it says.

  5. Hello just wanted to share an update we received, my husband received his EAD about 3 weeks ago and Friday we got an update on our application for adjustment of status I-485, it changed to case is ready for interview and we would receive notice with date and instructions. Not exactly sure how it will work since I believe offices are still closed but hopefully it happens soon !

    Congratulations on getting your EAD.

You're right, a small number of AOS applicants have been given their Green Cards this month without an interview. There is still no sign that waived interviews are the "new way" of doing things during this epidemic. It looks like interviews will start up again on June 4 according to the USCIS alert below. If and when they do, the backlog is going to be massive.

On a positive note, we can all be thankful that the President's Executive Order pausing green cards for 60 days does not apply to spouses of US citizens.

    https://www.uscis.gov/news/alerts/uscis-offices-preparing-reopen-june-4

Yes I just read that email about them reopening until June 4th or after, and also saw that some cases have been transfered to different service centers. Thank you we feel very blessed with the approval of the EAD and we are just staying positive. Just praying everyone can receive their green cards and finally have peace and not have to worry about the future. I hope they can just figure out a system to where they won’t fall behind. And I hope that the cases they see that they have enough proof that they won’t even need an interview. It’s been a long road for us and even though we can start freaking out and start stressing out, I told my husband we can’t, our situation can be way worse but thank God we are healthy, our 3 children are healthy and we trust that very soon he will have his green card in his hand!

  7. Hello just wanted to put my timeline and it can maybe help someone out of when maybe they will receive an update. Our situation might be just a slight different since my husband is already here in the us but under temporary protected status, country of Honduras. He has been here since he was 6 he is now 28, and we live in Arizona which is the Ninth Circuit, when you have temporary protected status there is no path to adjustment of status, but there are exceptions with some circuit courts when you are married to a us citizen. We applied back in October and we sent in I-765 and I-485, here is our timeline.

    packet sent 09/27/19

    They Received packet 10/02/19

    Fingerprint Appointment 10/29/19

Received a Request of Initial Evidence 11/18/19 took us a while to respond since we had to have a family member in Honduras go to the consulate there and mail us what we needed and get it translated

They received our RIE on 02/03/2020

Received approval update for I-765 on 04/16/2020 same day update of card being produced

04/23/2020 today we received his EAD

so now we will just be waiting for I-485 AOS, our lawyer says with an approval for the I-765 EAD is a very good sign new because he says it’s pretty much approval of the case they just need an interview and then assign him a green card, with all this pandemic going on though I just pray they open soon and we can all get our interviews. I was reading that cases that already had an interview are getting waived and they are receiving their gc, hopefully they start doing that for the cases that were up next that still didn’t have an appointment.

My husband is adjusting status through me a USC.

On june 12th USCIS received our case and began working on it.

on August 16th, 2019 we received an RFIE which states:

Submit a copy of the primary birth record issued by the appropriate civil authority for the applicant. The U.S Department of states visa reciprocity and civil documents indicates the only acceptable document is the Copy of Birth Folio, "Copia de Folio del Libro de Nacimientos." If the Copy of Birth, "Copia de Folio del Libro de Nacimientos," is not available , you must submit acceptable secondary evidence AND a letter from the government or other authority. Examples of acceptable secondary evidence may include, but is not limited to; church or school records, listing your parents names and your date of birth; hospital records of your birth; or other official records indicating a country and record of birth.

Im so confused because we sent his birth certificate. I have attached a copy of what the one we sent looked like. It is not my image, I got it from google.

Ive been doing some research and Im coming up with copies of stuff we cannot get easily, if at all.

Im so scared that my husband wont get accepted over this.

    Anyone in a similar situation?

Hello, me and my husband are in the same situation we just received the request for initial evidence. We are not exactly sure how to even get started on this. What did you send in and have they accepted it? My husband has a brother down there but here should he go to hospital or the registro civil ? Thank you so much so relieving when you find people on the same journey that could help out!

  9. I just received my approval in the mail(usps)!!

    NOA1-03/21/2018

    NOA2-09/13/2018

    Texas Service Center

I was obsessively depending on a text/email/or update on my account so don’t depend on receiving your notice through them, check your mailbox marchies!!! I actually found out an hour before We were approved because I called with questions about having to do an address change and the rep updated me that the petition had been approved so I came home and ran to my mailbox and there is was 🙏My situation is probably different than most of everyone on here and I wasn’t sure if I would be receiving and approval this fast, my husband is from Honduras but he is here in the u.s. with a work permit under temporary protective status(tps), so I am not exactly sure how the process works in our situation but the approvals are here for the people in March for Texas Service Centers, all other centers stay positive if we are here that means you all are close too !! God is good and may he bless all our situations and process! Also nothing on my account has updated not on new or old website, I never got the double case was received how some people were saying, I never got any notice of your case is being worked on or there has been a change on your case, nothing of that! So just because you aren’t seeing any that doesn’t mean anything !
