Clearly they told you what the best thing to do is... Have her take some time out of her busy life for you and get it scheduled.   Understand that wedding an Honeymoon pictures show a relationship from 1yr 7 months ago.   Western Union receipts and gifts show that one or both of you is willing to spend money but that doesn't show a real relationship.  What they are looking for is some current evidence of a loving relationship between you.  Figure out how you can do that...  Chat logs or emails or some recent communications about her school / work or mothers health,  some screen shots of the two of you together on talking on SKYPE or such... Facebook posts that each of you have commented on,  if you've been together since the honeymoon pictures, receipts etc from that.   Seriously think about what holds your relationship together when she is so busy and overwhelmed and what kind of evidence you could provide of that.   Again, ideally she'll find a day or two to come to an interview with you.

Wow! Congratulations! You are almost to the end! Based on what I see from other timelines. your interview should be about a month and a half to two months after NVC says it's closed. Again, this is just based on what I see from other dominican timelines, but I am no where near the end of the NVC stage. lol

    Hello everyone,

I decided to make this group based off of another member's suggestion and my experience here on visa journey.
Of course, different beneficiary countries will have different experiences in obtaining the final visa, the interview process, the medical exam, fingerprinting, etc., etc.
I also had a difficult time at first getting specific answers tailored to getting my Dominican spouse to the U.S. because of the diversity in countries on the I-130 Filer groups per month.
So this group is to answer questions for those with Dominican beneficiaries. Please feel free to also add any recommendations, experiences, updates in regards to same.

Thank you! and Good Luck to everyone

Just read the NVC forums and interview forums. You will see interview stories on the timelines of filers that have been through the entire process to interview.

I agree the NVC process doesn’t seem to bad. 2018 transcript will not be available for NVC process, but it should be available to take to the interview. If your tax return is ready when once you start the NVC process, then you would need your W2’s for the 2018 taxes. Just get transcripts for 2017,2016 and 2015. No W2’s needed if you are providing transcripts unless you filed jointly with your spouse. I would also add pay-stubs and a job letter from your current place of employment. Will you use I-864ez? You should know which I-864 you will need and pre-fill it out.

    Hi all,

July 27 PD here. Nebraska service centre... seems Nebraska is the slowest of them all!!  We are lucky in that my husband is here in Australia with me and has been for the last 10 years. However, there is a slight possibility that he will be leaving in January for an employment opportunity. Then we will be apart until my Visa is approved. We plan to visit, I have done plenty of research on the visiting scenario and much of it (from petitioners from VWP countries visiting during the process) seems positive. If the job falls through we will wait until my Visa is approved. The prospect of him being employed before we make the move is enticing however.  I've read all of the posts in this thread, seems there is plenty I can be doing while waiting for approval.

Best of luck and speedy approvals to you all

I did not attend, as I could not take time off of work. He went yesterday and they asked questions about our relationship, my daughter, and some questions about how/where we met etc. They seemed ok that I was not present and approved our visa.

I know some people say its best to go, and that may be true, but financially we thought it best not to spend all the extra money in airfare and car rental only to turn around possibly in 2 weeks to purchase his flight here to the states. You have to decide what is best for the two of you, but I have not seen anyone denied due to their significant other not being present. As long as he is prepared and knows everything he should be fine. Also make sure he knows your phone number by heart as that was one of the questions they asked. I do not even know his number

Best of luck to you in your process!

    Hi Everyone,
Thanks for all your feedback on this forum!
I want to give an update on the dilemma I was going through a week ago.
I WAS able to find a doctor who was okay with only doing the vaccines portion of the I-693 form (for a $200 charge, of course, but definitely better than what I was being told of $500+)
Note, either the physicians are not very well informed, or they just act like they don't know they are allowed to only do vaccines without an issue. Most clinics told me they weren't allowed to only conduct one portion, and it had to be the entire examination.
HOWEVER, the form (I-693) literally specifies in portion 9 (vaccines portion) that if the applicant only needs their vaccinations done, to only fill out section 1,2,3,4, and 6 of the entire form. IT LITERALLY STATES THAT IN BOLD. SO, I'm pretty sure physicians are aware and know that this is possible.
Anyways, I hope this info helps anyone who will run into this issue like I did.
I literally had to show the physician where that portion of the form was and what it stated, that's the only reason she filled it out.

They never say how long will take the visa.
On the interview they say same answer to everybody: you will get your passport in two weeks or if we need something from you we let you know by email.
All you can do is check the status on ceac check visa status.
If says issued means that the visa is printed. Then you check at ustraveldocs and see if your passport is ready for pick up

    Hi All,

I wish everyone well in this long journey!!!. My husband recently got approved on 11/20/2018 under the CR1 visa. I tried attach a file of samples from my actual case of the documents you will be receiving via email but it doesnt let me load it because the file is to large. If you want me to send you my samples just send me a message privately and I will send it you.

You will receive a Welcome Letter from NVC letting you know your petition was received from the USCIS department. It will indicate your NVC Case Number and Invoice Number which you will be able to follow in the website below.

https://ceac.state.gov/IV/Login.aspx: You will be able to choose your Choice of Address and Agent and pay your AOS and IV fee there. Make sure you call NVC to confirm your Choice of Address and Agent, it can be the PET OR BEN either one. I chose myself since my husband does not speak English , so everything was being sent to me and I would communicate it to him. Once paid and payment has been cleared you then have to complete the DS-260 online.

NVC VISA STATUS CHECK WEBSITE: https://ceac.state.gov/ceacstattracker/status.aspx

I printed out the DS-260 sample online (alot of pages) and took my time completing meanwhile payments cleared. Once the DS-260 was open it was easier for me to complete because I had everything already in front of me to be inputted.

I was proactive and gather all my documents that needed to be sent to NVC for review, I sent my package and sent it to NVC in ONE package. One package is for the Petitioner and the other is for the Beneficiary. You will put TWO separate envelops  make sure you label each one with your case number and indicate PET on one and BEN on the other submit in ONE envelope with the cover letter provided and a checklist for EACH one (PET and BEN) so it can arrive at the same time. If you send it separate it will be a delayed.

ALL my mail was sent via USPS with a tracking number make sure you indicate signature required.

NVC DOES NOT decide or approve your petition, they just make sure all documents are there to send to the Embassy in Dominican Republic.

Once they review your documents and DS-260 is complete you will receive a letter stating you are in QUE FOR AN INTERVIEW. You can always call NVC and they can let you know the INTERVIEW DATE online. Provided if you receive a nice representative, I was fortunate to have always a nice rep.

If you provided an email you will receive everything via email. The email usually come in the middle of night as per my experience.

IF for whatever reason something is missing NVC will send you a letter detailing what they need.

I hope this helps! Good Luck everyone.

For the police certificate - it is only good for 30 days, so it is best to get it within 30 days of your interview

So the documents do need to be translated to English?
I would be using the EZ form for the AOS. Do I still need W2s and pay stubs or is the transcript for IRS enough?

My husband got approved on 11/16/2018 under CR1 visa and I advised him to just get another police certificate for his interview even though one was already submitted with my NVC package.

if you guys need help let me know I will try my best to assist since I was the one that submitted everything for my husband. No lawyer needed, I used this wesbite and was very helpful.

Any tips on getting to the interview phase faster? I see some people are getting interviews two months after I 130 is approved.
