@QN&CD Update:
I went to the DMV at Redwood City on Monday and spent about 90 mins there. I got extended for 6 months as per the i797C showing my renewal application of i765.
All he wanted from me was my DL, EAD and the i797C for renewing i765. He did not even need my SSN card nor show my proof of California Residency. The guy that helped me told me he works at Santa Clara DMV and that he was just helping out at the Redwood City.
It looks like they might extend only 6 months for me too. So if we get the green cards , we need to come back to dmv for renewal again. haizzzz

Congrats! My interview date is in Sept too. Effective Nov 1st 2018, the I693 is valid for two years but must meet certain criteria.
To answer your question, it depends on when the civil surgeon signed your medical exam and when you submitted your AOS.
As long as you submitted your AOS within 60 days of the civil surgeon signing the I-693, its valid for 2 years
Can refer to the link below.

Hi, thanks for sharing. I found the information and I think I do not need to get the new medical exam since i got the exam after I submitted the aos packet about 3 weeks.
Which location you are interviewing ? I assume I would be interviewed in SF, but they sent me to San Jose office.

Hi guys, quick question about medical exam. If someone already completed the interview, please advise.
I applied i485 along with medical exam in April 2018, my interview date is September 2019 (more than 1 year since applying). I am converting from F1 visa. Location: San Francisco
Do I need to make a new medical exam and bring it to the green card interview?
Many thanks.

Update: this morning my status changed to "Case is ready to be scheduled for an Interview". I assume my location is San Francisco.
Please share your experience if you can:
1. When should I expect the status to change to "Interview Scheduled" ?
2. After changing to "Interview Scheduled", when should I expect the interview date might be ?
I need to plan some international travels so it would be great if I have more information. Thanks guys
Update: My status just also changed to "Interview Scheduled" and I am waiting for the letter now. I think interview date will be next one month. Good luck guys.

Well, we spent about an hour at the DMV yesterday. Got there a little after 7am (did you know some locations are now open at 7am?!). We filled out the app, and went up to renew our license. The clerk took my wife's paperwork and went to a back room. She came back shortly and told us that unfortunately we could NOT renew because the EAD had not yet expired. We have to come back the DAY AFTER it expires (which also happens to be the day before the interview date) in order to renew it, and she'd only renew it for 60 days at that time. We'd have to then come back EVERY 60 days to renew it again. Bummer for us...
Wow... that is weird... I got the temporary DL for 60 days, but I think the actual card will have longer time than that. I went to DMV in Hayward, which is open on Saturday too. You can take a shot if you want. Good luck

Hey that's great, congrats!! I may have missed this, but when was it set to expire? We can still mail in the renewal, I'm just curious as to what date they'll extend it to. Were you eligible to renew by mail and chose to go in with the docs just to make sure? Thanks!
The DL will expired in 3 weeks. I have choice to renew the real ID DL by mail, but I was not sure i could renew with my supporting documents, so I went there in person.
I am curious which date they extend to as well, but since no documents mention any deadline, I assume the extension should be 1 year

How long will the new DL last?
I am not sure, but it should be 1 year. I just got the temp DL which lasts for 3 months

Great! Hope they accept those documents. Good luck at DMV
Update: I just successful renew the Driver License with almost expired EAD and receipt for renewal EAD. Here is supporting documents:
1. Identity Document: (must be original, keep it in mind) expired/valid EAD and i797C for renewal i765
2. Social Security Document: (should be original as well) W2 form (can use Social Security card instead)
3. California Residency: (copies accepted) bank statement, phone bill and car title (just need two separate documents, USICS receipts cannot be accepted)
Good luck guys !!!

We applied for the EAD/AP renewal I think in May, 180 days before it expires which is August 18th, so we're in the same boat. Given that the interview is 3 days later, I'm not sure what we'll do yet. @QN&CD looking forward to hearing how the DMV goes.
So here's something interesting...we got our date!! It's August 21. The crazy thing is that it's in Sacramento and not SF!
For those that have had the interview: Do they ask to see a copy of the original file you submitted? I posted before but never got a response - we didn't make an identical copy for lame reasons, and now I'm freaking out because I can't find the awesome cover letter I put together that stated exactly everything we submitted. How concerned should we be??
Wow... which city do you live ? I think you can check your local office online ?

Congrats @Jake H
I'm from SF too. Still waiting......
Just wondering, have any of you renewed your driver's license in SF yet? Mine's expiring around mid August 2019.
I have applied to renew my EAD & AP and have received the NOA for both.
Any idea if DMV accepts the Form I-797C as legal presence? And what other documents is required to be submitted to renew my driver's license.
Thanks in advance.
I applied to renew my EAD and AP since beginning of March 2019, but still got nothing. I am trying to expedite the process but not sure it successes
My DL will expire soon in mid August 2019 too, so I plan to go to DMV this weekend to renew DL using pending form i485 and valid i94. I heard someone can do that, but it took them a while with DMV. I will update you more information after this weekend
Any one from SF also got interview dates ???

If the NOA date is the same as the PD date, then 4/16/18. And thanks!
PD is the day USCIS received your packet. But anyway, I guess we applied about the same time

Congratulation !!! I am in San Francisco office too. Your post gives me some hope ^_^. And, what is your PD ?
Any one here from San Francisco as well ???

Update for San Francisco. My coworker just got interview date. He applied in late September 2017 and interview date is April 1, 2019. About 18 months. So I think for SF we might have interviews around September and October 2019. Sorry, not a good new then.

Hey,
Our local office is SF (we assume, but it doesn't state it on any paper. I know I should call to confirm this...). We have not received an interview date, but ours still says ready to be scheduled.
Thanks. Same here. I think we have a long wait for that.

I submitted my I-485, I-130, and I-765 on the 24th of April, 2018. I waited for like 6-7 months to the point I realized that I'm outside the normal processing times for my EAD. So then it led to the point that I had to submit an Case Inquiry. After a month waiting, I said that I had enough and decided to go Congress to submit an congressional inquiry. That led to get this moving. So I instantly got approved 2 weeks later and received my EAD at the end of December. Then beginning of January I got my interview schedule. So I had to give thanks to my congresswoman and my lawyer for it.
That is awesome. May be I should contact my congressman as well
. LOL !!!

1) I think you pick San Fran CA in drop down? It says 10.5 to 30.5 months. Quite a big date range 😱
2) I would call USCIS if not sure why canceled
Check it out here for VJ stats of your local office

Thanks for your response. I saw we submitted the packet at the same day and received EAD approval at the same time as well, except for my interview date

Hope you guys had a wonderful holidays! We finally received an interview date and it's on the 5th of February in Sacramento. Is anybody from Sacramento? If yes, have you done your interview already? I wish to know how the interview went?
Thanks!
Congrats on this new. Could you share when you submitted the i485 packet ?

Hey guys, I have some quick questions, please help.
1. I submitted my form I485 in April 2, 2018 to National Benefits Center. My local office is San Francisco, CA. I am checking the uscis processing time of form I485 now and did not see NBC in the dropdown options, thus I wonder which center is processing my case, so I can estimate the timeline better.
2. Among applicants whose local office is San Francisco, CA here ? Did anyone get the interview date yet ? My I485 status has changed into "Interview Cancelled" since last October, 2018 without scheduling any interview date for me. I am just getting more confused over time.
Thanks for your help.

Should be OK, they may have scheduled it but canceled before you even were notified it was scheduled. You should contact the USCIS to make sure it is canceled as I have read some bad stories in this regards.
Oh, and here is a thread
Thanks for the information. It helps.

Hi guys,
Please share your experience if you had the same experience. My i485 case status has been changed to the below since 10/22.
"Interview Cancelled: on October 22, 2018, we cancelled the interview scheduled for your Form I-485, Application to Register Permanent Residence or Adjust Status, Receipt Number xyz . We will notify you by mail if the appointment is rescheduled, a decision is made, or if the office needs something from you"
The point is I have never been scheduled for an AOS interview and did not receive anything related to the interview appointment both via mail and email. I am kind of confused, so if you know anything, please advise. Thanks a lot. My local office should be San Francisco.

APRIL 2018 AOS FILERS
in Adjustment of Status Case Filing and Progress Reports
Posted
Hi guys, please advise if you in similar situation. I am converting from F1 to green card holder through AOS in San Francisco.
I got AOS interview about 2 weeks ago. The interview went well, but the interviewer said she cannot do anything other than interviewing, since my i130 is still pending. I was surprised, since I believe that we would approve both of them at the same time. Until now I still have no updates about neither of these forms.
1. Please share your experience if you went to the AOS interview and your i130 was pending.
2. Anyone here got the renewal EAD card ? I applied since March 2019 and still did not get the renewal card.
Thanks.
