Hi! My husband interviewed at the London embassy last Wednesday and they took his passport. His case is still showing Administrative Processing on CEAC, with the last action taken on July 8th. How long does Administrative Processing typically take in London?
I expect there might be some delay, give the July 4th holiday, but would appreciate any insight!

We just received the wonderful news that NVC is expediting our case! Any advice or insights on what happens next?
Should we aim to schedule the medical now? Does anyone have the phone number for them? Alternatively, it is possible to schedule online or via email?
Thanks in advance!

Hi everyone! Quick question: I've paid my fees, submitted all forms, and upload my last document as of Friday. Is it helpful to call NVC when they open on Monday?

Not applicable and write a note he only stayed for 8weeks
Thank you for the quick reply! I appreciate the help. Fingers crossed we can get through this stage with no RFEs.

Hi! We just submitted my husband's DS-260 and are starting to upload the documents. The list includes a police certificate for a country where he spent about 8 weeks. Should we just say "Not applicable"? I'm surprised to see it on the upload list. Thanks in advance for your help!
Also, will NVC review my (already submitted) tax documents in the meantime or do they review all the documents at once?

I've just submitted the payments. Do they need to be processed before I can start submitting documents?
Which documents should I start collecting? Is it better to submit more (and possibly be redundant) or keep it simple? For example, if my income is over the threshold, should I submit previous years and evidence of assets?
Also, does my husband need to bring originals to his interview? I am a bit nervous to mail my birth certificate or passport overseas, but will do it if necessary.
Thank you for all of your help! I seriously appreciate it. I've been reading for a long time and finally decided to start posting!

If you get everything right for the first time you submt, you will finish NVC stage faster. And be in queue for interview immediately. Please try to organize and make sure everything is correct and complete before submitting to AVOID RFE/s like us. 🙏🏽
Thank you for the advice!
Does anyone have specific advice about how to get the documents submitted correctly the first go around?

Happy to report that we just received our case number, about three weeks after NVC received our file!
Any idea how long we have until the end of the process? My husband will be interviewing in London.

You might consider moving back to the UK and doing a Direct Consular Filing to bring him to the US. Much quicker than the normal IR process.

Hi! Spoke with NVC today and they indicated that they received my case on April 30th. When would you recommend that I call again to see if they have a case number for me?
Thanks in advance for your help and good luck to all of you!

They give you 4-6 weeks notice for your interview, so that would be a more prudent time to quit.
This is very helpful. Perhaps that would be the best time for him to give notice.
So we will get a letter (email?) alerting us to schedule our interview 4-6 weeks in advance? Can anyone provide further information on this, particularly for the UK?

Thank you all for your thoughtful replies. This is such a great community!
Perhaps we will wait until we have the NVC number and can book his medical, so we can have a better idea of the timeline before he resigns. Then he can either do his last month of work, hopefully get the visa, and travel for a month or so OR do his last month of work, travel for a month, and then get his visa. Anyway, plenty of time to consider these options before we hear on NOA 2.

We received our NOA 1 in late July and are eagerly awaiting NOA 2, although we appreciate that we won’t likely hear until after Christmas.
I am eager for my husband to move to the States as soon as his visa is issued. He, however, wants to make sure that he gives a month of notice and travels a bit with his father before relocating. Ideally, he’d like about two months total. Should he give notice when we received NOA 2?
Is there any notification that is roughly two months away from the medical/interview? I suppose I am a bit confused about what goes on at NVC and how long we can expect it to take. It seems that some individuals emigrating from the UK start scheduling their medical and such as soon as their file arrives at NVC. We will definitely have all the paperwork (vaccines, police record, etc.) ready in advance, so I don’t expect any delays there. But are there other delays we should consider?
Thank you in advance for any insight!

Hi! I apologize for the delayed reply, but posting anyway in case useful to future users. His status changed to Issued on Friday the 12th, so about a week and a half after his in interview. (Might be faster for others, as the Embassy was closed for Independence Day.) His passport arrived the following Tuesday.
