To be honest, we didn’t. We weren’t apart. We lived in a third country where we both were foreigners with no permanent residency for two years, from the beginning of our petition to the end. We hired a lawyer, but that turned out to be a terrible idea. I travelled quite a bit for other reasons, though we never lived apart. During the petition process, we simply said we were immigrating together. That was the end of it. The Embassy where we had the interview worried more about financials than establishing a domicile.

We called our assigned embassy today if there’s anything else we need to do but waiting for an interview, as our case has been expedited and transferred to the embassy. They immediately sent an email for us to send an interview request. Within 15 minutes, we received the interview letter email according to our preferred week. Exactly a week from today!!! Even the medical exam result is here in less than a week. 
 
We waited 8 months just for our NOA2, it’s finally moving along after we fired our attorney.

Contact the embassy directly, they will tell you what to do. Ours scheduled our appointment according to our preferences within 15 minutes after we called them. I believe each embassy works differently regarding scheduling appointments.

It took us 2 weeks after the interview to approve. Interview on Novermber 16, and approved on November 29th. I’ve seen other taking longer. Hope you get it soon... 🙏🤞☘️

My CC was October 10th and this morning I received my Interview date of January 31st in Montreal!
I'm so excited! 

Had my interview today and got approved after three hours waiting dreadfully!!!!! Can’t believe this is the end of a near-two-year limbo (from preparing for I-130 to getting the final approval, the result of having a manipulative lawyer)!!
 
Some tips I learned today by watching other people’s interviews and from my own:
 
1. Get a joint sponsor. I would’ve been denied if I didn’t have one ready.
 
2. If you can’t obtain a required document, find a way to prove its unobtainablity and your attempt. They’ll accept it. 
 
3. Go the extra mile in preparation of your case documents. Even if it’s a 14-page translation. It’s better to be safe than sorry.
 
4. If you need assistance from a lawyer, make sure it’s a good one that does their job. Watch out for potential red flags.
 
5. Not exactly sure if this helped...but I tried to keep our uploaded documents as organized as possible with notes on the content on the CEAC site. The embassy staff seemed satisfied with the result.
 
Do the final check of documents before the interview to make sure you have everything!! 
 
I pray everyone on this thread will get an interview date very soon!

Just got an email from NVC.... Case completed today!! 
Next step, interview date in Brazil!! So happy!!

Woke up this morning, checked the local weather, then i saw email from NVC. We will be interviewdc on 01/14.

Should be mailed to address given on the DS260, but there is a 50 percent chance that it may not. If after 2 weeks you have not recieved your social security card you can visit the nearest office and request the card.

Just had my interview today me and my son .. we were both approved 🙏 .. thank god

Medical is scheduled on Monday! Hopefully we will get a case complete next week! Unfortunately it’s a 4-day holiday weekend here for the embassy  Might take a little longer.

Correct me if I’m wrong. We were in the same boat, but decided to take CR over a delayed date. From what I read, getting IR isn’t guaranteed and your POE may tell you otherwise. I never could find someone updating which one they received in the mail afterwards, so I have no way to confirm if this is 100% true.
