  1. I’m looking for some insight, my husband had his interview ( Mumbai, India ) in January of this year. The counselor officer requested he submit more documentation , they did not keep his passport. All requested documentation was submitted within two weeks. Since February, there has been 11 times so far the date has changed when we check the case status. As for status itself, it continues to read “ Refused” . Has anyone experienced several date changes , before receiving an actual decision? Can this be a good or bad thing ? Thanks for sharing any experience or knowledge.

221g issued at Mumbai consulate on 04/02. Fiancé was given a white slip that stated file was incomplete therefore undergoing administrative processing. There were no further directions and officer told fiancé he didn’t need to submit or do anything else and AP

would be done in 1-2 weeks. CEAC website shows the case status last updated April 04, and still says refused but the same message that we would be contacted once AP is complete displays. Is it normal for the  case last update date to change while undergoing AP or does this mean it’s been refused in full? Our petition expires 04/06, do we need to contact them to ask them to extend it so it doesn’t expire while they do AP? Thanks all

.My husband was issued a 221g white slip as well in January at his IR1 visa interview in Mumbai. Our case status  was listed as refused, but not put in administrative processing. He needed to submit additional documentation and we have been waiting the past two months for a decision. Our case status date has changed over 8 times since then. There’s not much you can do at this point , except wait it out and hopefully for you the 1-2 week time frame is accurate.

Thanks. I did all that and now I have a biometrics appointment. Following is all I need for Biometrics, right?

    1. DS-260 confirmation page.

    2. Biometrics appointment confirmation page.

    3. Two 2x2 inch US size passport photos.

    4. Original Passport.

Yes that is correct . I don’t recall if it was asked for or necessary ,but my husband also had with him copy of our marriage certificate and a copy of the email with his visa interview date.

I have applied for a CR-1 visa as the spouse of a US citizen. My visa interview appointment has been scheduled at the Mumbai consulate. The Mumbai pre-interview instructions (https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/Supplements/Supplements_by_Post/BMB-Mumbai.html) say that a Visa Application Center biometrics appointment is required prior to the interview. According to these instructions, I need to schedule this appointment at https://www.ustraveldocs.com/.

I created an account on that website as an immigrant visa applicant, and now it is prompting me to start a visa application. I am confused by this, as I have already applied for the visa and am just trying to schedule an appointment. Am I supposed to fill out this application form? Or is there something different I need to do in order to schedule the appointment for biometrics?

You need to follow the prompts and fill out the form you mentioned for the biometrics appointment . You can choose the location, day and time for your appointment. My husband has his interview next month in Mumbai and just went though the medical and biometrics appointments in New Delhi with no problems.

I can only speak for IR1 visa. when my husband applied for his PCC it was “ immigration, purposes, other than citizenship”. when his PCC was issued, it stated that on the document as well. When the PCC was uploaded and submitted to NVC , it was excepted. I am not familiar with “long-term visa/stay” classification. I would assume with a K-1 visa your intent is to immigrate after marriage in the USA.

Where did he request PCC? Is police verification done?

He request the PCC at the city’s local passport office in his state of Jammu & Kashmir (J&K) . The police verification was completed almost a month ago.

  9. Has anyone had recent experience with wait times for a police clearance certificate(PCC) for India? My husband has gone through the required checks ,and has been waiting close to a month for the actual certificate to be issued. Would living in one state versus another have any effect?

How long does it take for NVC to enter your data into their system? NVC received our petition on June 24th 2023, but we still don't have our case number. Just want to know if this is normal.

Our I-130 was approved 6/27 and on 7/2 the NVC case and Invoice ID number were available. We both received an email the same day with the information.

Honestly, I think both answers are useless to you.  Maybe the service center is correct, but it doesn't matter.  Note that an officer reviews each case for an average of less than 30 minutes, after which it is approved, and RFE sent, or it is denied.  So, if you haven't seen any emails, no officer was reviewing your case at all.

Thanks for the quick response pushbrk, no I haven’t seen any recent emails concerning my case.

  13. I thought I’d give the “Ask Emma “  feature a try on the USCIS website. It did confirm the service center that my case is being processed at. It also mentioned that an officer was reviewing my case on February 6 2023. I’m not  sure how accurate information is from this chat feature. Any experiences or opinions would be appreciated.

yeah i know we would have to meet in person but i'm strictly talking validity of marriage certificates in the eyes of uscis.

the one up top is from courtly.com and the one on the bottom is from utahcounty.gov.

Will uscis object to small differences between the two

    Utah-Marriage-Certificate - utahcounty.gov.jpg

The first thing that stands out to me is, the bottom copy states “ This is an official certificate of marriage “ . The top one does not . I also know that Utah will  provide a copy of the marriage license along with the marriage certificate and their state seal Imprinted on the document. Not much more authentic than that.I can speak of this because I have first hand experience. 6 months into the process and luckily no RFE’s up to this point. My personal opinion is , if u want go the online route go with Utah. There are many others out there that have done the same.

  15. I’ve never heard of courtly .As for Utah online marriage , you will need to start by visiting Utahcounty.gov and find the information about applying for the online marriage license. You will need to set a date for this and pay the fee.  Also provide info needed  for the marriage license.Keep in mind you and your partner will need to be present online during this process. After that step is complete and the marriage license is issued, you can then set a date  for the online marriage ceremony.Again a fee will need to be paid for that as well. All related info can be found on their website .

    Hi,

i applied for E visa to india on January 4th and put in as expected date of arrival for 4th February. I could only see the date 4th feb. My flight is actually landing on 5th feb. I just received the email that visa has been granted but the entry to India expires on 4th February and flight lands on 5th February.

any one had a similar experience? Can i reapply again without a hassle after a few days from now ?

already have the ticket and stressing now . :(

Sounds like you applied to far In advance .Most likely you will need to reapply, the E-visa you currently have will expire before your entry to India. I applied this past April 2 weeks before I traveled to India., to avoid the same problem.Once you arrive on Feb. 5th  you will have a 30  day Validity from time of entry for the E-visa.

Has anyone else seen the "processing time" tab on their USCIS account? Ours says " Estimated time until case decision: Your case is taking longer than expected to process. You do not need to take any action at this time."

I'm curious if that's what other people are seeing? Does anyone actually get a number estimate?

Yes, I just saw it today on my account and yes I did get a number estimate time of 2 months.
