Hello ..I need advice from my fellow Nigerians..I am spending thirty days in Nigeria..if I need an extension for another month...to stay there .

How can i go about the process? On my 3 visits Nigerian immigration always stamped 30 days in my passport...the way things r looking with January scheduling I am assuming nvc is already done with January.. thanks in advance..

Take your passport to Nigeria immigration service for extension they will give you extra 2weeks for free without making any payment but if you are staying more than the 2weeks extension you have to pay for it that’s how it works

Any Nigerian member received appointment letter for January with cc in August (Lagos embassy) ???

Nope according to what my wife told me she said every country have number of immigrant visa they assign to them every year she told me Nigeria  we have use ours and till Feb before we can get interviewed so I think we might receive appointment letter end of Dec to 1st week of January against February interview .

I asked them about that confusion because I was also told January scheduling was done and that's when I was told that they're scheduling until next week. To be quite honest, I don't think the NVC reps themselves know for sure. Some say that scheduling only happens at the beginning and end of months, some say it happens all month long, some say that it goes for the first three weeks of the month. I don't know what to believe anymore.

I feel NVC say whatever they like nvc can only tell you  if they have schedule for you or not apart from that any other thing they tell you are false cause definitely they must have something to tell you .

Wow okay noted, thank you! 😊

Hmmm you have a very good point sis, honestly I'm so tired of all the paperwork. NVC really dealt with us, kept sending back our documents and asking us to resubmit. We finally got CC on November 2nd and we're also waiting for Lagos Embassy

I'll discuss with hubs and see if we can pray for guidance. Lord have mercy, this whole immigration experience is beyond exhausting. I prefer for someone to give me a hot slap everyday for 1 month than to go through this again 😫

Your worries will soon be over I have this strong feelings that before the end of this week lots of people will receive appointment letter in Jesus Name Amen.

I've been reading a lot of places where people say IR is guaranteed upon entry after 2 years. After this long wait for Immigrant Visa, I really want to avoid anything that has to do with Immigration again until we're ready to file for citizenship

I'm really hoping it won't be an issue if he interviews in January. April seems like a long time to wait and he will most likely enter after Easter if we wait. I don't want any issues at the border, what do you think?

After you get the immigration visa you are entitled to stay in your home country for 6month after six months the immigrant visa will be no longer valid.

Correct me if I’m wrong. We were in the same boat, but decided to take CR over a delayed date. From what I read, getting IR isn’t guaranteed and your POE may tell you otherwise. I never could find someone updating which one they received in the mail afterwards, so I have no way to confirm if this is 100% true.

If you enter the State after your second wedding anniversary you will get the IR if you enter the State before your second wedding anniversary you will get the CR that’s the immigration law of US I know I am also in the same boat my second wedding anniversary is Feb 27 if I have Jan appointment after interview I have to wait till March before leaving so I can have the IR instead of CR

Hi guys , how are you all doing? So sorry I haven't been on vj for so long. Well, my interview is scheduled for December 5th at lagos. I was a little bit delayed with my aos, but finally I am in the last stage. Does anyone has same date with me? I wish you all the best because I know we will all smile. Its really a long journey indeed

Wow I think you are among the few Nigerians that have December appointment wish you success in your interview what’s you PD date and case complete  date ?

Oh I totally get it now, well the US Embassy in Nigeria now also requires Nigerians to go for interview instead of submitting their passport for renewal so I guess it's t.i.t (VJ censored that word) for tat 🤷‍♀️

If she's able to get it, will she travel in time for Christmas? I can't imagine how you feel, spending Christmas apart sucks

She will get the visa and she will be here 3rd week of Dec this is our first time spending xmass together and this is her 3rd visit  to Nigeria.

I'm sorry I read your post at least 8 times and I'm still confused. Do you mean you are here in the states and your wife is trying to come visit you on a tourist Visa while waiting for her immigrant Visa interview?

If that's the case and she's not able to visit, can you travel to Nigeria for Christmas?

Am in Nigerian my wife is an American she lives in the state, she is in North Carolina her Nigerian visa on her passport have expired she needs another one before coming to Nigeria December to visit me,presently as a US citizen if you are applying for Nigeria Visa you have to go to Nigeria embassy in US for interview, you have to appear in person,so my wife is going to Nigeria embassy in Atlanta for interview so she can have a valid Nigeria visa before coming to Nigeria .
