  1. Hey guys!!

I filed my AOS after marriage but I received a request for initial evidence stating they need a copy of my birth certificate.

I was adopted by my stepfather in 2008 after my biological father unfortunately passed away in 2004. I submitted a copy of my adoption certificate but they’re requesting a copy of my birth certificate. Does this mean the adoption certificate copy is missing or not enough? And do I need to provide both or just my adoption certificate again?

My adoption certificate was all that was required for my K1 as my original birth certificate is technically invalid because my adoption certificate supersedes it.

(Sorry if that rambled on a bit I just want to be clear)

    many thanks VJ community!!

Approved yesterday in London, subject to my medical report being received. Thanks to everyone for their help and for taking the time to continue to share their knowledge on VJ.

    Congratulations!!

We got notification our papers have left the NVC for London yesterday, can I ask how your medical appointment booking went, how long was the wait from call to appointment? I’m going to be scheduling mine soon and was wondering roughly what your wait time was.

    Thanks!

  3. Absolutely adore that you’re arranging winter coats and boots for you’re partners ☺️

Even though I’m from the UK and very used to winter I was in no way prepared for my first winter in the US a couple of years ago! My very first weekend there was a huge snow storm 😂 Needless to say I went out and got snow boots as soon as we were no longer snowed in, and they’ve seen plenty of snow since then!!

Hello everyone. A fellow May filer here, fingers crossed our day is coming soon. I was hoping that someone may be able to point me in the right direction for what I need to prepare for in terms of next steps when the NAO2 eventually comes through? My fiancé is in the US & I'm in the UK (London). THX so much.

    Hey hey fellow Brit!

Feeling a bit down, looked on the New site and searched my case number. Still nothing but I looked both up and down and 10 before me were either approved or sent for RFE and some a few after mine also approved.... :(

Make sure you update your timeline

I feel you. We have the same dates and I’ve still heard nothing. But stay positive!!

A month ago my timeline was saying I wouldn’t likely hear anything until mid November so look at it like anything before that is a blessing. And even if it’s over that time, it will happen!

Congrats to those that have heard and for those who haven’t we’ll hear soon I’m sure ❤️

    Hey guys!

I've been scanning this forum forever and finally decided to introduce us :) We are May filers! Anybody here from Britain?

We personally feel that the time flies very fast :))

I am a bit confused with an old and new sites you all talk about. Can somebody explain please? :) We usually refresh Case Tracker app to check the updated status.

Hello hello fellow Brit here! Welcome to the group!

Hi May Filers! Have you heard about September 11 which says they won't issue an RFE anymore. Uhmm.. I read somewhere that they will still issue RFE to those who petitioned before September 11. Meaning, September 11 petitions on wards - they won't issue RFE anymore and will just deny it to decrease the number of petitions. I am a little concerned about this 'cuz we didn't front load our petition as I believe that front loading is supposed to be on the embassy interview. What's your take on this? :)❤️

I think I read somewhere previously about this, I believe it’s not concerning the K1, but other visa types. Could be wrong though

This information that I have attached is a little more exact then what is contained on the website that was shared. That website does give you a good over view but this is specific to the Embassy in London and is what they are looking for. I hope you can use it.

Thank you thank you!! Mega helpful info especially seen as it’s location specific!

Does anyone one have any advice on when to apply for the police background check? I have to take mine to the medical exam, so should I apply ASAP or wait until slightly closer to the time, say next month?

    Hey guys,

I’m a Dec 2017 filers here, K1. I would like to wish you all the best and speediest wait period. I never thought as the months passed that I could visit the US (beneficiary from the UK) but I took the courage and done it. I used the preclearance in Dublin and I’d really advocate any EU or non-EU citizen worried or anxious about coming over to use this facility. It was a truely wonderful experience. I found a few trips personally broke up our wait in chunks. Now we are waiting for them to finally begin December.

Everyone on here is super awesome and there’s so much support from other threads. Can’t believe it’s day 161 already, 5 months into “the wait”. The time will fly by and love conquers all! ❤️

    All the the best guys,

    Jon 🍀

    Hey Jon!

Im flying into the US at the end of September, I’d never heard of the preclearance before I read your post. I’ve just briefly googled it and will look into it further. This is majorly helpful as I’ve been a little nervous about visiting before we move onto NOA2
