OP: Until you discuss your feelings with your fiancé, I don't think you should honestly proceed. If YOU are not ready to leave your country behind, and he is unwilling to learn or make certain sacrifices for you, then this will only be miserable for you. When it comes to immigration your entire lives are laid bare for the government to see, and we've all had to make sacrifices to make our lives together. If you find yourself contemplating that you will be filled with regret.. think about how the future will be more, and if you're really ready for it.

America is a land of freedom, in that we have many personal freedoms and liberties that other countries do not. We also have many opportunities for those that are willing. But that does not mean everything is free, nor should anyone expect that. We are a country, unique as any other. How do you expect that a person feels American? Ask yourself what does it mean to feel American? America is filled with people... people that are immigrants, a melting pot of children and grandchildren and great grand children of immigrants. We each have our own cultures and differences, and not necessarily united under a notion of a specific identity. You should not expect to set foot here and suddenly 'feel American'... because there is really no such thing as that. You may likely experience culture shock for a very long time, you may adjust or never adjust. You may feel floundering for a while, and then slowly normalize. America will never be exactly like your home. Your home will always be your home and special to you.

I need a ''me too'' reaction button.
Unfortunately, from a different immigration forum (in Spanish) I noticed they're assigning June interviews for February approvals, and they haven't finished doing so, many are waiting still. We March approvals will be lucky to snatch a July date. Ridiculous doesn't begin to cover it, but this is very specific to the Ciudad Juarez consulate, they're seriously backlogged.

    Hi,

here is our timeline to better help those waiting,

    Scan Date: 11/1/18
Case Closed: 1/23/18 (Our Case Closed took 12 weeks. After the 11 week mark, I contacted NVC and escalated to a Supervisor since they say the wait time is 11 weeks).
    Interview letter recieved (email): 4/2/18
    Actual Interview Date: 5/29/18

Yes its a long wait, but think of it this way, how many people never make it this far for whatever reason. We are the blessed ones, as we are in the process and its actually moving, no matter how slow.

I truly hope that's the case! I understand if we still have to wait 1-2 more months, we just really want to know the date to plan accordingly. I'm tired of living this way.

    Hello everyone, my friends!!
My wife received her passport returned in 2 days and yesterday my wife and I entered the US, everything went wonderful, the immigration officer took the envelope and asked us some questions (which I don't remember anymore) lol took a picture to my wife and her fingerprints of the right hand, and just he said, Welcome to the USA!!

It's great to know that all this is over, that I can live quietly knowing that I have my wife by my side and that this whole process tackled with so many feelings is just a memory!
Thanks to all those who helped in my experience, my best wishes to you and may God bless you greatly!!
    I'm so happy!!!

    2. Where does my spouse work
    3. What do I do for a living
    4. Where do I work
    5. Where do we plan on settling down in the US?
    6. Where did we get married
    7. Whey did we get married in my country.
    8. Does my spouse have any relatives in my country
    9. Have either of us been married before?
    10. When was the last time I saw my spouse?
    11. How did we meet?
    12. What state was my spouse born in the US
They then returned some documents to me and said congratulations, "your visa has been approved". Was also told that my passport and documents will be mailed back to me within 2 wks
A very big thank you to vj forum and every active participant. I am most honoured to have met this grp. I don't know how I wld have endured this long tortuous wait with my mind still intact if not for you all.
This process is a true test of one's patience and I wish everyone who has gone thru this process wld never again in this life time hv their patience tested
