@NikkiFromCanada @BrazilianInTexas @ira1712 I spoke to my congressman's office on Monday, to ask if they did have any updates and how long I can expect to wait. They let me know they give them 30 days to respond (the inquiry was sent straight over to the NBC) but that they usually get a response faster than that usually within 2-3 weeks. However, she did say to me she is expecting a response by the end of the week, but they can only chase after the 30 days. So I'm just keeping all my fingers and toes crossed. Hoping that this helps everyone that is currently in limbo... also, I won't be checking VisaJourney that often now, only coming to give updates as and when I hear it, can't deal with looking at everything now - need to tuck it all away.

I think there may have been some misunderstandings here and I'm not defending anyone but right now - calling is not the issue I believe. I believe this is about submitting a case inquiry through the USCIS website, which currently should only be done by those whose processing times are now considered to be 'Out of Processing Times' - which at the moment on the USCIS website is showing 20th Sept 2018 as the date. I believe what others have been trying to say, is that it's not fair that someone who has been waiting from September and is awaiting a response to their case inquiry, is then delayed on getting an answer to their inquiry, because other people who are 'within' the processing times are making inquiries, when it's not really their turn to do so?

Everyone here is trying to support each other - and I don't think anyone meant any harm with their words, just trying to make people aware and be sensitive of what they are typing as there are numerous people who have been waiting 200+ days for their EAD/AP with no response and are still being told to wait a further 30 days. You have to imagine the upset and frustration for the people who are still waiting - if you're getting upset at like day 100-120-150, please please think what it is like for those who have been waiting for even longer than that.
 

New week, new hope? Haha! Glad to see some people have been getting some silent notifications though! Hopefully it's like that for a majority of us? They've been working but haven't updated the system - Monday night like everyone else gave me a heart attack when their system went down, got all excited and was like OMG OMG EAD!!! Then saw that the entire system had crashed 😂

They seemed super helpful so I'm hoping they are able to get some answers.... MAYBEEEEEEEE even get some light shed on the October boxes they seem to have been missing and get everyone else here waiting approved too because they find the boxes mysteriously hidden in a corner at NBC....

Just gonna try and make the most of the good weather and celebrate what I can while I don't have work... cause I mean watch all of us start complaining about how much we don't get enough time at home, once we start working!

Anymore Octobears had approvals on EAD/AP - in the past week?? 

I know it sounds like I'm being impatient but I have taken steps to contact my local congressman now - as I feel we Octos have really had the thorny side of the stick re EAD/AP now  Sad that I feel I had to do this, I'm usually the most patient person but with ever changing dates and feeling so low on hope just had to do something to feel like I'm moving! 

AT least spring weather is being pleasant! What is everyone doing at the moment to curb boredom or keeping spirits up high?

Just popping into say that today we received both our combo card, and our notice for our AOS interview set for 5/7/19 up in Chicago! Filing date was 10/5/18.

We get called cheap or stingy because we search out the best deals. Like if we are needing to buy a vacuum and have a coupon, im going to use the coupon or at least get it online where it's cheaper and it is free shipping. My mom sees this as being cheap for whatever reason. My wife and I explain to each other that we will splurge on traveling and nice food but we don't need fancy clothes or expensive things outside of experiences and making memories. We want to embody this so that one day when we have children they will understand the value of money and how to properly use it. Obviously each family has their own way of spending money. Im just so confused why this is stingy/cheap. I think of it as being smart and resourceful. 

Yup super frustrated to be seeing this and considering when we applied it was 4-6months and then it changed just as we were coming upto October filers one time and it changed and now it's changed again in the same situation. 
 
I'm now thinking to contact my Congressman to get an update on my case.
 
@SonaliHormazd I totally agree how can they think that it is manageable for only 1 partner to be working for 6-7mths. Yes they do have the affidavit of support and yes we all know that we picked this route - but having this many changes is enough to drive anyone insane. Especially, when we're doing everything legally.

Whoa, did not realise a simple rant would turn into a political discussion! Moreover yes I did do my research on the process - yes I am patient but obviously there are bad days. 
 
Simply just came here to rant because I know I'm in a sea of people who are in a similar situation to me and can relate, because, people outside this process... really don't get it.
 
And sometimes... knowing you're not alone in waiting? Makes it a little easier.

I'm going crazy being here at home and yes I know I signed up for this but it's just so frustrating to be in a struggle sometimes when you know you could potentially be working and things have been further delayed on USCIS' end and just yes *pulls out hair* I just want to know what's going on :(!!! Where my file is and how long it's going to take - I can't do this wait game anymore and have no plan!!!

I have the same feeling! Anxiety is driving me crazy! My wife and I have to control each cent we spend, or we might spend more than what she's making, and I end up driving her crazy over this... and being so anxious I started applying for jobs and interviewing, in the hopes of getting a job offer and being able to expedite the process.... and there are companies interested in hiring me, but their legal department won't let them make a job offer before I have the EAD... I always explain that with a job offer I can expedite the process, and that I know people that have done that, but they are probably afraid of some liability... to make it worse, USCIS has messed up my address in the EAD case, I am going through the 4th request to try to fix it...
 
And before coming here it were 2,5 years of distance relationship... I feel like our lives have been on hold for all this time... I can't wait to finally start our lives!

It’s so frustrating! Although, I’m very happy for those who have heard or received their approvals. Fingers crossed October filers will had a flooding of approvals soon! 🤞🏻

If it's any comfort, not had a lot of movement near my case numbers either and my received date is like showing 2nd October/9th October (depending on what site I use), on the case tracker though shows 2nd October so.... *Just keep waiting*

Meanwhile over at USCIS..... Dave is busy trying to find Octobers filers applications.

Hah! Yes sorry I presumed that there were people of actual capability there... but indeed very quick to take our money and very slow to give us any progress! Though with the current administration.... I'm not surprised the changes that occur almost every week must be a drag for them.

Unless it's doughnuts or coffee or a pinacalda USCIS are useless.  Oh forgot to mention the only thing that they never seem to have issues with is Cashing them cheques 😂🤣
