Apart from putting my parents info on the forms no one ever asked me about my parents.. I only had 2 interviews the first was at the consulate for my K-1 and the second was at my N400.

Got to agree you CANNOT MISS the large lettering that tells you not to open it ..
For that reasons "Hundreds of people" do not open it because they worked so hard to get through the process they learned to follow the directions.
Someone needs to have a talk with daddy to not only open it but to shuffle it around and mix up the paperwork thats an issue
and the consulate is just gonna let you stuff the envelope yourself?
They will know at the POE as I am sure they see many packets and one all out of place is going to be a HUGE red flag.
Its sealed to prevent tampering it's now tampered with.

you need to do the one with fingerprints. rules have changed. make sure you tell them its for immigration to the US. it can also take a couple of months to obtain.
Glad I'm done 😁
But seems things have change quite a bit since I did my stuff

I live in Toronto Canada and waiting for K1 interview. Anyone can share experience doing Canada Police Certificate? Just go to local RCMP? Is name based check or fingerprint check required for K1(I heard is just name based one)? I'm Canadian citizen but have no passport yet. Is Canadian passport required for it?
Thank you!
Not sure if it has changed since I did mine was quite a while ago but I was in Hamilton just went to main police station (not rcmp) told them I needed my police record .
I had no records so was just 1 page stating no records found.
And it was all I needed

File the paperwork as soon as possible and provide a written reason for the late filing. They generally can approve it more easily if you state illness, caring for someone, etc. She needs to have the ROC in process to get back in status.
Not trying to say this is what your intention was...but "if you state illness caring for...blah blah blah" makes it easier"
it may encourage people to lie about certain things thinking they need to.

Thank you. Do I have to pay for per service? Also do you know if I can do insurance without SSN and how long it can take ?
Yes you do even of you have insurance there is a cost to you

Didn't they say the OP say they got their answer in the first post
They said
"You weren't approved. You were recommended for approval. Your case was passed to someone else's desk; they will look over it and decide whether or not you are approved."
That's your answer and you are in normal time range

I feel soo lucky I only had 2 interviews through my immigration both involved just me 1 at my K-1 interview ..i didn't have any others until my Naturalization interview.
But at my K-1 interview I was so busy trying to remember everything in my head that I had forgotten the date of my second visit with my wife (fiance then)
but had everything else she asked me even said it was alright I couldnt remember the date.
I understand missing something because of nerves or tiredness or whatever but not too much.
Time to start taking it more seriously

She WAS being abused. She didn't REALIZE that what was happening was actually abuse until a social worker told her. This is VERY common in abusive relationships.
Never said she wasn't ..her timeline of events were not right with her story that is not a language thing.
Which also put a hole or 2 in what she was saying again not a language thing.
Then backtracked to try to fix that but continued with timeline of events errors
Thats all I was pointing out
If you just be truthfull of excacty how things happened then there won't be those timeline errors come in with that nonsense to an interview and what do you think would happen?
I don't care that she cheated or had a baby with another man ..and if so sorry she was abused
but how she presented it timewise it makes no sense

It wasn't implied that OP should lie. Obviously OP's English is less than perfect and there was confusion as to the timeline. My understanding is:
Man #1 asks her to marry her. She says no and instead marries Man #2, who abuses her, files for her AOS then withdraws it when he's sent to jail after the abuse. She has a one night stand with Man #1. Man #2 later files for divorce. OP files VAWA claiming that she had a baby with the abuser. During the divorce from Man #2 it comes to light that he is not the baby's biological father, therefore Man #1 must be the father...
You should read ALL her posts carefully..
Now I saw a new one i missed she sent to seek comfort AFTER the abuse but because someone quoted it there's this..
"also I did not knew it was abusive marriage until the social worker told me"
I'm done reading this thread

In terms of VAWA I can’t be much help however I will say you need to get your story straight before going to immigration with it. It’s very convoluted right now. Sit down and think about timelines, what exactly occurred, when exactly it occurred etc
Just telling the truth will do just that.
Start fixing the timeline to look good and the "little white lies" appear

I was faithful in my ex abuser husband. I never had 2nd or third man in marriage.
It was big mistake that i met once ex boyfriend after couple times I was abused
This here is quite the contraditiction...
Which is it? And thats 2 senteces in a row...were you faithful or not?
Then in your first post you typed this
I married to a USC husband but he did abused me after a month since we married during my pregnancy
You state you were abused WHILE pregnant and within the first month of your marriage
Well what is it? Before or after abuse? But hard to prove a bona-fide anything when your doing that within the first month

It all depends on your field office. Some are pretty fast. I have seen people completing the whole process in 3 months in some places while at other places, the wait can be 12-15 months or more!
You can check your FO's processing times here- https://egov.uscis.gov/processing-times/
Hard to go by that..mine says april 2019 so...i dunno

I filed October the 8th.. I just got the email this morning.. do you have any idea when you gonna have your interview after the biometrics?
Thanks man! After you did your biometrics, how long did you have to wait before having your interview done?
Umm ..let see I did application beggining of march had biometrics in march and had my interview in may and had certificate in hand 2 days later at ceremony.
It is probably not as fast in other places and I was shocked how fast it was little over 70 days.
Could have been my location but who knows it was fairly easy too I think they knew before I even got to my interview because the whole interview just felt like a formality

How is this a "loophole"? The system was literally designed to allow AOS from a non-immigrant visa.
It's not the place to open that debate.
-
Whats the difference between B.C. and the rest of Canada? Or other countries washington is real prejudiced 😁
-
Until they close this loophole and you dupe them at the POE then it seems your good to go.
Happens all too much so you should be ok it seems.

I am Canadian waiting for my conditions to be removed. Out of the blue, I got an e-mail from the school board I had worked for before leaving Canada. It turns out the past and present employees are eligible for retro pay of some kind and I qualify. Are there any issues foreseen with this, or advice? Other than claiming it on our taxes. I m not sure of the amount at this point, so it may not be substantial. I just thought I would ask ahead of time so that I am in the know.
Don't know what kind of issues you'd expect. Canada will probably want their taxes is all I see

MY Immigration question
I understand if I'm Disabled I can be married (keep Medicare) but what about the IRS Returns required? (I was disabled at 38 years old and worked enough Quarters to qualify for Disability Benefits. At 65 this turned into Social Security Retirement, this cannot be denied then correct?) I receive $1,244 a month or $14,928 The Poverty Line is $16,460 for the K1 and $20,575 for Adjustment. So for the K1 I would need a Sponsor that hands over $1,532 a year (or $127.66 a month /$32 a week) and later 125% .
The question (besides the IRS Returns requirement which logically must be waived) is: Can my HUD be counted as income because it practically pays my rent? And if not and I can’t find a sponsor – has anyone heard of Americans With Disability Act, etc. that allows for a severely disabled person the right to have a wife help take care of him? (I use a Motorized Wheelchair and have a HHA /Home Help Aide)
These are the 2018 Poverty Guidelines released on March 01, 2018.
2018 Poverty Guidelines
Size of Family Unit
100% Poverty Guideline
125% of Poverty Guideline
2
$ 16,460
$ 20,575
For K1 For ADJUSTMENT (after marriage)
First HUD is not income so I doubt they will even look at it.
And second thats not how sponsorship works they need to have income that covers their household size plus your fiance.

Yes, but there will be some forgiveness for the OP's wife as a spouse of a USC. There is no forgiveness for falsely claiming to be a USC so that's potentially the bigger problem.
