I really am so appreciative of having made it this far. I can't imagine being someone still waiting in august or even September and seeing others get approvals ahead of you. I just didn't realize I'd be nervous. It's like I can't eat sometimes. You have these people who come from countries the US barely gives a second look at for an interview and then you have us who are so scrunitized for being in love. My fiancé is doing better than me to be honest. But I've been doing a lot of praying!
your fiancé is gonna pass that interview with flying colours oh my goooooodness i can't wait to hear ALL about it!

Yes NVC is a pleasure to call. I wrote about my last call to NVC in April NVC topic if you want to check. I tried asking everything I can..
they are aware it is a little out of normal times but it is still out of their hand to do anything cause it is less than 6 weeks..
I’ll go and read it! Thank you

oh god. what happens when thats the case? it has to go back to the USCIS?
just called and spoke to the sweetest lady who was extremely apologetic to the fact they hadn't gotten our case yet. she said "we should be receiving it very very soon.. i am so sorry!" which makes a change to all of the nasty workers we seem to always talk to.

Ouch that inquiry... let’s hope it won’t cause anything but yes it is a possibility

Nope. They are aware this is normal. After 2 weeks I started calling twice a day.. while they say 6 weeks, they also already know something is weird when it’s longer than 2 weeks.
also there’s no record. And it’s almost always a different person on phone. I asked them if there’s an hour I should call instead they said not to worry. And I said: ok I’ll be calling twice a day then!
yeah! i guess 6 weeks is their protocol though so it doesn't bother me; however from the google doc i'm seeing from NOA2 - NVC receive / case number is taking anywhere from 10-35 days currently! hahah fair enough. i can just see my phone bill going through the roof now cause i won't stop i do fear that the fact I did inquire about our case 9 days before it got approved that it could have delayed our process a little since they sent a response 5 days after NOA2? do you think thats a possibility?

I haven't gotten a letter and I would advise not waiting for it since things get lost in the mail as well as it really slows down the process.
I got my NOA2 and I waited two weeks because I've seen a couple of persons post that they called within a week or so and their cases got sent back to the USCIS for reverification and such. I called on Monday in the day and my case wasn't there yet but when I called them at (603) 334-0700 last night around 8pm EST, the rep asked me some verification questions such as the names on the petition as well as DOB and then he confirmed that they received my case and he gave me the case number as well as the invoice number. He advised that when my case has left the NVC and is sent to my embassy I would be contacted via my email that I provided to him during our call.
thats awesome - thanks for the info.
my fiancé is always super hesitant about calling frequently but i know that it's the only way to stay on top of it. especially since the lady on the phone he spoke to first time told him that we're expecting to be waiting "6 weeks".. so annoying -

Has anyone gotten their NVC # yet? I got mine last night.
NOA2: April 2, 2018
NVC Received Case: April 16, 2018
NVC # Assigned: April 17, 2018
any chance you can explain the process to me?
NOA2 20 days ago - we received hard copy a few days later & have heard nothing since. my fiancé called the NVC and the lady said we are supposed to be expecting a second letter? but didn't tell us what that letter was and which one of us was going to get it?
did you get 2 letters? if so - what was the second one? -

I'd advise you to read back a few pages and see what others are going through to get an idea on how many people are still waiting.
there is no official information other than it can take up to 8 weeks to receive and I think up to 6 for a case number. (Or vice versa so don't quote me.)
It took my case about 2 weeks to get to NVC. 4 working days "at NVC" and in transit / ready on the 5th working day. Others have taken much longer, and others have gotten everything the same day their case was received. One guy did tell me they're behind again because uscis caught up and dumped it at the NVC. There's only one NVC. Just be patient. We literally have all been there or are still there.
Appreciate the detailed response - thank you!
my main confusion & concern was the part where I mentioned the lady my fiancé spoke to on the phone saying we’re waiting for an additional letter? I don’t know what that means. As I stated in my post; we only have received 1. (NOA2) and she gave us no additional info as to what we’re actually meant to be expecting in the post? (A letter stating our case has gotten to the NVC, our case number, or are we actually supposed to have a second letter?) I’m reading that people are getting emails - no second letters. So I’m extremely confused.

Because everyone’s situations are different and I don’t have the time to go through 126 pages lol.

hi all!
just wondering what the actual process is of the NVC receiving our case after NOA2?
it's officially been 2 weeks since we got our NOA2 (30th march), and my fiancé called to ask and see if there was a case number for us yet.
the lady asked if we have received 2 letters yet or 1? and she told us that we're expecting to be waiting 6 weeks until they receive our case from USCIS... [letter states anywhere between 2-4 weeks..] we were very confused.. are we to be notified by mail when we get our case #? how does that work? and does anyone have any idea currently how long it takes from NOA2 approval - receiving case # - "ready" status?
sorry for all the questions, just a tad overwhelmed and confused haha -

You made me check my email because I thought it was suppose to come via regular mail.. And guess what they sent it since April 3rd. But I had everything schedule since the March 28th. How about that!
Oh wow I thought it came by mail too? Or am I reading this wrong. Lmao

Hi all!!
officially been 2 weeks now since we received our NOA2 (yahoo!)
just wondering where and how I can contact the NVC to check up on a case number? do I call / email? or does my fiancé have to call? (He’s the petitioner, I’m the beneficiary) it’s all so confusing haha.
also; I can’t believe some of us August filers are still waiting.. hang in there guys, it’s coming I promise 💛 don’t be discouraged!!
