Quick update for giving hope.. My son got his visa issued Alhamdulillah

Interview Feb 7, 2018

Given 221g ticked with administrative process and DS5535 to my elder son who was doing software engineering at that time.. Didn't know exactly the red flags.. 

We three members got visas after 9 months. 

After this no update on my son, a case only when inquired.

First update 10th July 2019second 15th and then got redo medical email at 17th 

Medical submitted on July 23,

Case updated on ceas on August 31

Second update September  12

Third update on September 18 with email for oath and fingerprints

On September 19, done with second interview, VO said your case is completed and you will get visa in a week or two. 

Status showed ISSUED on September 20, 2019..

Passport collected on September 25.

Will be traveling this Saturday Alhamdulillah.. 

So guys keep praying and don't lose hope.. Wish you all get your visas soon.. Aameen

No guarantees but you are way past the 30 day mark they have set after document submission. Have you been seeing your case dates updating or is it not moving at all ? If you have seen updates without inquiries after submitting documents it means they are working on the case for sure 

One update with inquiry at 26th July and one itself at 31st August which was Saturday.. Since then nothing ..

Do you think it will work ??  I twice contacted with my senator but every time i got reply which was nothing different from embassy..

I also heard that embassy does interviews in first 15 days of the month and issuing visas is end of the month... Anyone knows??

My parents who’s interview was also in February 2018, got an update on August 31st. But we recently sent updated documents to the embassy. 

Same here .. we submitted second medical and recent photos on 23rd July ..

He got DS5535 .. Age wasnt the issue..

We had interview on Feb 2018 , we three got visa in October but he is still in Ap since then.. Almost 19 months

If you get an update on ceas on Saturday... What does it mean?? My son,s case updated on 31st August ..

We submitted on 23rd July and still waiting with no update ..

The Isb embassy asked for my husband's medical and it took approximately 2 weeks for his visa to get issued. You can call NVC to confirm if the consular section received the medical. I called them and they told me the exact date embassy received the medical. They even have access to consular notes.

Oh really .. I didnt know about this .. Can you tell the NVC number .. If i call tomorrow as the embassy is closed for Eid and 14th August, still they can tell me the date embassy received medical ??

Islamabad Embassy requested (via email) my sister's family to submit another set of Medical Tests, recent passport size photos, and submit submit Immigrant applications again.  They submitted requested items on July 01, 2019.  Still all 6 family members are in AP.

 

I am wondering if they are going to ask for Affidavit of Support again?

Same we did on 23rd July .. submitted medical and visa photos but no update yet .. Did you confirm that they received the documents?? I mean any single date change ??

Wsalam .. yes i got two updates 10th and 15th July and then on 17th received email redoing medical for my son who is under Ap since 8 Feb 2018 . He submitted medical on 23rd July and now waiting .. will keep updating. Dont give up , just leave and forget about this visa thing .. Just keep praying

For everyone waiting in AP for more than 6 months due to the ds5535, you should file a writ of mandamus. I suggest saving all your responses to inquires from embassy and your emails to the senator/congressman to make your case strong.

How much it costs ???

Tell your son to write a letter address to embassy, requesting change of  address, print it out and signed at the bottom. And take it to courier and ask if they can deliver it or take it to TCS and mail it. Another option  is fax that letter in case courier asking too much money. Make sure in the letter he mention his case number, dob, principle applicant name (you) and petitioner name.

Luckily I did the same thing already 🙂

Yesterday I sent an email to embassy to update my son,s address as he shifted from hostel so the reply came ..

Dear Applicant/Petitioner,

Thank you for your email.  Please provide us with a written and signed request to change your address in our records.  Once received, we will have our records updated.

Sincerely,

Immigrant Visa Unit

This is supposed to send by my son... Right ?? Via courier?? Or just update via inquiry page ?

You mean we can contact her whether we live in any state ?? Right ?
