We had our interview today. How long does it usually take until the status is updated online?
omg congrats! I am still waiting for mine 😕 where was your interview (city/state)? How long did you wait for it?

We also included any additional evidence from the time we submitted the ROC application. For example, we submitted bank statements every 4 months for the ROC application. For the interview, we took every 4 month-bank statements from that time (when we submitted ROC application) to present. btw, we were not asked for any evidence at the combo interview but always better to be prepared
wow thats awesome!!! what questions were you asked during the interview? Was your spouse present as well?

Hi all! Got my interview notice, almost exactly 16 months after filing for ROC. Ironically enough, right when I started filling for citizenship hahaha
Kinda nervous but, from what Im reading, the interview seems to be very chill. Hopefully the final step from this long waiting ride.
congratulations!! what field office are you in?

I called for infopass appointment because I am traveling outside of country and my extension will be expired during that time. They have told me that they cannot schedule appointment beyond 40 days and I have also asked for case status they have said that you are in queue for the interview.
they just suck. My husband is taking a citizenship course in Jersey and they told him that Newark is the most backed up location on the east coast... I was like how lovely we have already been waiting over a year... so ridiculous. I wish they would just let us bypass the interview. It seems like that has happened to some people (not sure if they were Newark location or not though).

Did anyone receive 24 months extension letter or did anyone requested extension letter? My current status is "case is ready to schedule for interview". My local office is Newark, NJ
my local office is Newark too. I havent received anything and wasnt sure if I should request a missing mail note or not.

10 years would be appropriate. Why should a K-1 entrant be exempt from an interview vs a CR-1 entrant? It just doesn't make sense. There is no need for conditional cards at all.
I just can’t believe they are going to send New receipts out vs either changing the system, schedule the damn interviews, or waive them completely. Two years is just so stupid. It doesn’t even make sense why it’s two years. The system really needs to change. They just need to push the cases through especially when you can clearly tell by the stack of paperwork who’s marriage is legit and who’s isnt. I’m just so upset and frustrated about this. I’m only thankful that my husband is in the country with me and we are not apart like we were when waiting for the cr-1 to be approved.

Did anyone see this frikn update? 24 months now instead of 18 months! fml. This is such bullshit. THey should just waive interviews and get this going already.
September 03, 2021Starting Sept. 4, 2021, USCIS is extending the time that receipt notices can be used to show evidence of status from 18 months to 24 months for petitioners who properly file Form I-751, Petition to Remove Conditions on Residence, or Form I-829, Petition by Investor to Remove Conditions on Permanent Resident Status -
Has anyone travelled internationally or to Europe with the extension letter? We are planning a trip to Italy to see my in laws in August and our lawyer advised that it may not be a great idea due to possibility of having issues re-entering the US at this time with the letter? Did anyone have any issues re-entering using the letter?

I finally received good news from USCIS, which is that my case was approved. Filed in May, 2019 and I have been waiting for my interview to be scheduled for almost two years, now my case was approved without an interview.
omg thats awesome news!

hi everyone,
I just received a notification that my I-751 is being scheduled for an interview... this was as of 5/19/2021. Fingerprints were taken on 5/14/21. I believe that the interview will be in Newark but I wont know until we get the letter in the mail. Hoping for the best.

I am wondering about applying for citizenship. But on the other hand I am still waiting for green card. Is it good to apply for citizenship or will it delay the process of i751?
hell yes! go apply for citizenship lol dont wait for anything. My lawyer told us that applying for citizenship can expedite the I-751. I would not wait when it comes to USCIS, as long as you are eligible to you should totally go for it.

There is no update online when they schedule your biometrics. Your next update is after your fingerprints are taken 🙂
ohhh okay thank you !

I believe so yes. Im located in the New Jersey New York area so I believe that the local USCIS is the Newark office. Dont worry your notice will come soon!

Guys has anyone every followed or heard of AILA? I found this article and I just found out that they are having a meeting with a bunch of congressmen/women today at 10am to address USCIS issues/backlog. I tried to subscribe to the meeting but you have to be a lawyer to attend from my understanding. This may be helpful/may not. I Just wanted to share in case anyone was interested.

How do I go past the automated answering machine to speak to a live person when I call USCIS?? The machine is not allowing me to speak to a person and it soon hangs up on me
I forgot what I did but I think I either kept hitting 0 after the options or I listened and clicked for any option that would lead me to a person.

Same here.
I reached out to our congressman about the delay in biometrics scheduling, and I just got a generic response about Covid.I’ll try our senator and see if that helps, but I am not optimistic.
I am in the same boat, GC expired August 28th, 2020. There has not been any movement at all on my case. The wait is horrendous. I was hoping with the new president, things would get moving faster ( Still hoping!!). I will be filing for citizenship at the end of May. Hopefully that helps expedite things.

N400 and I-751 approved in one day. I filed N400 right after I was eligible to file. It took them 4 months to schedule the interview (look at my timeline for more info). Good luck everyone!
congrats! Did you file your N400 online or did you mail it in? Im planning on doing the same thing as well in May.

I just submitted a second case inquiry. The first one was January 10th and of course I never received a response within 30 days. This one now says I have to wait until March 17th...

I got my biometrics late December (April filer) so unfortunately you are within "New normal" time frame (extremely frustrating, I know). I doubt it that they will process any inquires now (mine are still pending (not assigned to be processed) , including the one from September...) .
this is definitely frustrating. I am a June filer and still no update on biometrics. I have inquired about 4 times. My last time was Jan 10th with noone assigned to the case yet of course. This is insane.

Hello everyone.
I have a question, with the slow pace of approval for ROC,when will be the best time to fill for citizenship...my GC will be 3yrs in August 2021,can I apply 90days before then which May 30th..
Thanks
My husband is in the same boat. My lawyer told us that we couldn't apply for citizenship until May 30th as well. USCIS will kick it back if its any time before that date. My husbands GC will be 3 years August 2021 as well.

Hi everyone! I just want to post that my hubbys interview was yesterday. The initial interview letter we received was for hte N400 but they did the i751 and the N400 at the same time. The officer requested that I go in for the i751. She was very nice and she asked me my husbands name, DOB, when we got married, where he worked and I think that was it and she approved the i751. She allowed me to stay for my hubbys citizenship exam as long as I remained quiet. The exam took maybe 5/10 minutes. Hubby passed with flyin colors and he received his naturalization certificate the same day. Our immigration journey is finally coming to an end and we will be heading to the post office for his US passport.
Good luck to everyone!! Be patient your time will be here soon!
