My mom's case is at NVC since 2020 July. Is there any news of any interview scheduled recently in US Embassy Manila Philippines for this category? Her priority date is June 24, 2019 my moms visa is IR5.
Is there anybody here the same case as my mom?
7/7/19 priority date here.
We had an expedite approved in November and we scheduled the interview for end of January, but both parents popped for Sputum test at their physical so had to cancel appointment.
Now mom ended up with culture growth so is in the six month treatment, Dad's culture wait period ends next week.
There were more appointments posted a few weeks ago but too early for us. Checking daily but not seeing new ones. Have seen a few people get lucky though.

too late
she can not fly in the last trimester of pregnancy
that would be from may, june and july
and there is no way to get this approved before May
No quite true.
Some foreign carriers ban travel in final trimester without a doctor's note. We had issues getting out of Philippines on Cebu Pacific and almost had issues on Cathay, American needs a Dr note at four weeks or less from due date on international, Delta has zero restrictions, I think united is 28 weeks before Dr note.

My wife renewed her passport in Chicago first week in December and received it February 11th so ~8 weeks here

They have to undergo treatment? 😢
Guessing so......

Well, both parents were supposed to go back for Sputum results March 24th, but yesterday both got calls to come back to SLEC Feb 24th. Seems this isn't going to be good news......

$160 to try but doubtful she would get it with a pending immigrant visa.
whats the wait time for B2 visas at that embassy?

Were you able to see if any interview slots opened up? I just checked it, still nothing.
There were some showing Monday at 4am

There were Feb appointments posted yesterday before 5am but they filled quick.
I was looking as we had to cancel parents interview for Wednesday since medical popped for Sputum testing this week
-
Same experience. In Laws went this week with test in hand, they popped for the Sputum collection next week and asked if they needed new PCR test and were told no.

Yes. And likely the best path in your case since once you get the visa and return you can work. It would be quite a stretch financially I imagine to try for a K1 as you would be here many months before you had authorization for work under the K1. With your spouse in prison, you would be living off your savings while waiting on EAD

Aww, hope you get a reschedule appointment for them soon. It’s so hard to get appointments lately since the last time they allowed online scheduling.
Thanks. Might work out better with covid. Parents won't travel alone and getting in there a pain. If it slips to April May timeframe might be better. Thought Sputum was a two month culture anyway.

I just told them that with the current pandemic, everything is unpredictable and hoping to spend more time with my children (their grandchildren) while they can.
No, my parents are still in the Philippines. After 2 months of expedite approval, I went ahead and scheduled them for medical. They are now just waiting for the interview schedule. Looks like no one got appointment for February yet.
There will be a January 26 appointment open soon. Parents did medical yesterday and popped for the three day Sputum next week. Grrrr

I'm aware of the difference between the 2 visas. Either is ok. I just gave birth 4 months ago and was hoping my mom could visit or live with us. I was just weighing which one would be faster and probably easier for her to be with us as soon as possible. and yes, i'm aware of all the backlogs and processing could take longer due to the pandemic.
Hi, what is DQd?
Documentarily qualified

Parents IR5 filed July 2019, DQd March 2021, NVC sent to Manila November 2021 after multiple expedite requests.
interview Scheduled for January 25, 2022
YMMV. Good luck

SLEC fees increased Jan 4.
New US medical fees will be implemented on January 4, 2022:
Adults (ages 15 and above) - Php 16,225.00
Children (ages 14 and below) - Php 10,835.00don’t forget the negative Covid test required by them as well. there’s a note on their page that the on site testing offered won’t give results in time. Suggest to test early or elsewhere if coming to SLEC.

Brrr!
in Philippines
First winter for my wife was in Grand Rapids. She didn’t leave the house for three months. The next summer I was transferred to Cincinnati, she took the kids to Philippines for three months that winter 😀
Since then she’s been fine with it even the bedroom ceiling fan is on at night (freezing me).

Just the DS260?..it’s good to know that we can schedule medical even without interview date.I’ll have to look for that now.
how much was the all in all fee in the medical exam?
Just under 15000 php each plus you need negative Covid test within 72 hours of appointment. In our case add another 5000 php per parent. You may find cheaper.

I booked the parents interview online after CEAC showed ready. I was a bit hesitant as the ultradocs site had a pop up that seemed to state not to use it for that, but it did have the correct selections for IR5 visas and we did get the email back of the scheduled interview from ultradocs. When I booked there were only 8 slots on Jan 22nd and 4 on Jan 24th showing as open.
I had previously requested help from our congressman while waiting on the expedite and hadn't received anything back from them until yesterday, then got the below message when the Manila Embassy person responded to them saying you can book online.
Thank you for your December 10, 2021 inquiry on behalf of your constituent Ms. M. S. concerning the immigrant visa cases of her parents, Mrs. and Mr, XXXXXXXX.

Thanks for the update. It might be a new system at USEM for re-schedules. If you receive an appointment confirmation from an official state.gov email address, the embassy would most likely honor it.

Different embassy, Manila, so no sure how much it will help but Dq'd 3/2021 and nothing moved. Asked for Expedite 3 times (Aug - Oct) finally approved expedite 11/2021.
Since it was expedite we had to schedule interview and finally found one late January. But both parents popped for Sputum testing so had to cancel that date. Mom will be six more months as she's in treatment, waiting to find new interview for Dad now.
