    Congrats on the approval!

My case is also in Cincinnati, I got a notification on oct.2 that my case is ready to be scheduled.

Do you know how long you waited to get interview date after you received the “ case is ready to be scheduled for interview” notice?

Nice! They notified me that my case was ready to be scheduled on 8/22/18 and the interview was scheduled on 8/24/18, then I received the notice in the mail about a week later with the interview date.

  2. Hey guys! I’m new to this thread but I’ve been following along for a while and I wanted to give you all an update! We went for fingerprints on 8/13/18 in Cincinnati, OH and I just got an update today that they are ready to schedule the interview. We should be getting the letter next week with the interview date. I wanted to let you all know so that you all can know how quick they’re going for a change. Check my timeline for deets.

Quick question , what kind of forms or documents does my fiancé need to take to the interview day ?

I believe that's embassy specific. I know you're fiancé would need the Affadavit of Support form I-134, an updated Letter of Intent, additional evidence of your relationship, police report possibly, medical results (if the doctor doesn't send directly to the embassy), passport, ID card,  divorce certificate if divorced.. but again some of this is embassy specific, so I would go to your specific embassy's website to confirm! :)

Cool!  I hope so!  Just got notice today so already missed almost two weeks of preparing, lol.

Wow well hey, that means less waiting for you! The tracker and text I recieved from USCIS said my case was approved on 1/30, but the date on the notice says 1/26. I wasn't complaining either! Again, less time to consciously wait! *I had to post again because I screwed up my original reply

I can imagine, we've been struggling enough knowing that he won't be here for the birth...When we first found out, he was still living in Canada so at the beginning we saw each other 1-2 times a month. When he went home to Australia in august (before his Canada work visa was up), I went with him for a few weeks but we haven't seen each other since September 3rd. It has been so hard being apart through most of this-especially with the time difference coupled with my pregnancy mood swings-but he has been so amazing. He has not missed a single appointment for our son, we got to see the ultrasounds together, and he has done his best to stay positive through this long process.

Was your fiance able to call or skype during the birth? We are planning to have a video chat going for the whole l&d (our provider is super supportive of it) and I'm kind of curious about how other couples in the same situation have handled it. I also see you're in Ohio-small world! I live in Columbus :)

Wow from seeing one another every month to not, has to be hard. The mood swings are so real during AND after pregnancy! It may be a blessing in disguise that he wasn't physically here because I was awful 😩😂.

That's amazing that he was able to come to appointments and ultrasounds.  Cell phones weren't allowed in the room during my ultrasounds so he couldn't see those via FaceTime, but a family member did FaceTime the birth though and my brother sent him lots of pictures! So my fiancé was able to actually see the baby born live. We video chatted a million times during my l&d and he took off of work as well to be available. I just couldn't  stay on the phone with him the entire time because of how much pain I was in and due to my severe preeclampsia that went undetected during my pregnancy 🙄 But I'll speak it into existence that your l&d will be smooth sailing!

    Really!? I live in Cincinnati!

Oh, that must be so difficult for both of you :( my fiancé has been so disappointed because he feels like he is missing out on so much, and I’ve been overwhelmed by how much there is to do without him here (while working full time up until the birth)...I can’t imagine how it must’ve been to wait so long for the NOA2 in your case. I’m glad to hear you’re in the final stretch, too, and I hope your case number gets asssigned quickly!! It sounds like the email is sent soon after the case number is assigned anyway, so I suppose we will soon know, whether I  call or not :)

Yeah it's been pretty tough. I completely understand your situation. He can't wait to actually touch and feel his son and I'm sure your fiancé will feel the same way.  Have you all been able to see each other since you've been pregnant? And yes you're right! We'll know soon enough!

Hi, yes and yes! Everything filed and scheduled. Fiance will be going to his VAC appt in a few days, Medical a few days after that and Interview in March.

I am putting together a post in the Caribbean forum and will be sure to message you the link as soon as I'm done. I'm getting a lot of messages so I figured it would be helpful :)

Niiiiiiice almost done! I can't wait to hear how the medical appointment goes! Now did he ever receive a packet 4? I read somewhere where you have to wait for it, but then others have been saying they never send one.

How are the appointment dates at the embassy looking? Seems like they're not too far out.

And yes pleaseeeee message me the link when you're done!

Hi! I've only received en email with an attachment that states the NVC received our case and that it would be forwarding it to the US Embassy in Dominican Republic. It was addressed to my fiance, showed our case number, USCIS number, my information and the embassy location.

and a big congrats on the baby! wishing you a peacful and joyful labor with a healthy baby to follow :-)

I finally found someone that will be dealing with the embassy in DR! Have you all completed the DS-160 yet? Or where are you in this process? Thanks!

Hi all :-) We received our NOA2 last week (the date was January 27th, though), and we are working with an attorney so we may not get our case number until they get written notification (they have been great to work with, and I don't have any complaints). I'm getting ready to deliver our first baby in the next week or so, and even though I'd like to call every day I don't think I'll be able to since I'll be on my own until my fiance gets his visa. Just wondering if any of you who called to get your case number have received written confirmation yet? And about how long it took to get that, if so?

I'm so pleased to see things moving faster now! Thanks to anyone who has an answer to this :-)

We received our NOA2 about last week too, but it was dated 1/26. I just called and they said I had to wait up to 6 weeks for them to receive my case blah blah blah. I don't even think she checked because as soon as I told her the notice date of 1/26 she said that 🙄. I'm in the waiting game with you. I'll just call back tomorrow or later on! We should receive a case number fairly soon. But OMG I just had our first and only child in November and I can totally relate not being able to call everyday. He hasn't met him yet because I didn't want to fly with him being so young and those nasty contagious bugs! But good thing in your situation your baby would only be a few weeks old when your hubby gets here fingers crossed! Yippy! And congratulations mama! Almost done with this loooooong and anxiety giving process!

For those who'd responded to an RFE ... how long did it take before you guys heard back from USCIS?  And when you heard back from USCIS, was it an approval or did you get another RFE? We've been waiting for 5 business days ... not sure if this is a reasonable wait time to call Tier 2 for the result.

Our RFE was not a complicated one.

    Thank you!

I received an RFE on Nov. 27. 2017.

They received my RFE on Dec. 12. 2017.

    I got my NOA2 on Jan. 31, 2017.

My process was quite long, but others have been wayyyy shorter so keep the hope alive!

I didn't even say how we met. Where it asked how we met in person, I just put that "we decided to meet in person..."  I think getting an rfe for that is kind of a ####### shoot, but I have noticed more people getting them when they say they met online.

Yeah I know 😩 I guess they take the IMB stuff seriously. This whole process is a little confusing. I still don't understand how USCIS approves a case but it's technically not  since the individual can't come to the U.S.  yet and needs an interview to truly be "approved" and gets granted a visa. I know everything has a process, I just wish it got to the nitty gritty as soon as they receive the petition like with the marriage visa. Butttt i guess that's why the fiancé visa is different !?
