    That's not the point.

We, as a website, and group, will always say that you need to be completely honest with the consul. We won't condone convenient withholding. If you HAD intent to see your boyfriend on the same visit, you should have said so.

Well to be honest we weren’t even sure if we would meet because my sister wouldn’t even pay for extra expenses, another plane ticket just to see my boyfriend? She wasn’t even like that at all. If that was even a plan but no guarantee if I would see my boyfriend or not. That’s why I knew to myself that I wasn’t even sure at all if I would see him or not. I was just a student and couldn’t afford any trips unless if he tried to come over and see me then... so that’s why I didn’t think about mentioning it. Cos me myself wasn’t even sure at all.

  2. So you’re all implying that my situation might affect my K1 then? And that my case is not common and might subject to a denial? It is not just that my sister’s background might affect the K1.... but Also the answers I gave to them during my interview? I wasn’t sure if I’m just the one in million people who has this case. It was just a coincidence that I applied and that I had a boyfriend that time. Primarily the main reason was to see my sister. Since she was about to pay for everything (even put in my ds160 about who will cover my expenses) that showed lack of ties to my home country. Now for the K1 because of what happened way back 2015... there’s a posibility that the consul may not look throughly in our relationship?

But you deliberately withheld information about having a boyfriend in the USA. You thought they would deny you if you mentioned it.

You’re surely not expecting people to believe that you were planning to come to the USA for 5 months and not see your boyfriend at all?

Because it was not even asked at all. When I was asked the purpose of my travel.. I told the consul that my sister invited me to visit her. Since that was main purpose. And then the rest of the questions were about my sister’s background. My sister lives in Phonenix and my boyfriend lives in North Carolina. I didn’t lie and didn’t deceive them. It was all because my sister really invited me. And that’s what I told them. No question asked if I would meet different person.

As long as you were honest with your previous interview and will be honest in your upcoming interview, this situation should cause no issue.  Many applicants have also been previously denied a tourist visa and it did not impact the K1 visa.

I didn’t lie in my previous application. All were honest answers. And didn’t even lie in my interview althou I already know they were asking me questions which would cause me a denial.

Your previous denial won’t affect your K-1 unless you lied in either application process.

Looking at what you have written, you say you have known your fiancé since 2014 and you applied for a tourist visa to visit your sister for five months in 2015. Really? You were going to the country where your fiancé lives for 5 months but you would only be seeing your sister? That’s unlikely. Did you mention that you have a boyfriend in the USA during that tourist visa application process? That could be a problem.

Yes that is correct. It just happened that I know my Fiancé since 2014 when my sister invited to visit her since I was half a year break from school. I didn’t mention that I have a boyfriend that time since I already had the idea that it would cause even a good reason to deny me. So I didn’t mention that. I know to myself that the reason was first: the length of stay and second they thought maybe if they would grant me a tourist visa I might use it for a wrong purpose. Since they found out that my sister became US Citizen with a wrong visa.

  6. I will have my K1 visa interview soon! I can’t help but to worry about my case. 😐 I applied a tourist visa before February 2015 and it was denied. I applied to see my sister since she invited to visit her. She was also the person who was supposed to sponsor my 5 months vacation (length of stay I put in my DS160) During that interview. All the questions became about my sisters background. I was asked if she is a US Citizen and I said Yes. How did she become a US Citizen?... I told the CO that her husband is a US citizen. Then was asked about the Visa she had and I said tourist visa. And also asked how did she obtain that visa. I told the CO that she was asked to go and attend training in Texas (She was working under BPO industry - AIG) and was granted multiple visa when she applied. So after that day... I realized how many redflags I had in my application. I didn’t realize that until the that day was over. Like what they said... you just have to be honest so that’s what I did. Put 5 months of vacation. I was on a long vacation waiting for the second semester. I was a student that time. So now... in my upcoming interview... in the DS160 there’s a part of it about “relatives” in the US and I know I need to put my sister in my application because for sure they would have a record of my previous application. Now I’m worried that my history and my sister’s background might affect my K1 visa Interview. I’m worried that they might asked again about my sisters’ and give a denial answer. What do you think of my situation? Do you thing that will affect my interview? What if they ask and focus again into my sister’s background? I met my Fiancé Feb 2014 and we’ve Been together for more than 4 years now... He visited me twice.
