Hi again everyone! Hope all is well with you all
We are now approved, NVC new case # rcvd, Embassy rcvd case, Embassy packet RCVD!
We have a lawyer, not sure if I mentioned before.. but our lawyer fails to admit we need the I-134 for visa interview even after the embassy sent my fiancé a copy of the I-134 form to have filled out prior to attending interview. After trolling visa fb groups, watching tons of youtube videos.... I still need desperate help.
My fiancé is waiting on his police clearance, going to do his ds-160 + medical and I'm getting everything together for the I-134 Affidavit of Support.
I have a couple questions about the I-134 Affidavit of Support;
1. My fiancé has a daughter but she is not coming, do we still put her information on part 12a-14 Beneficiary's Children?
2. I am a US citizen, but confused on if I leave this part blank or not as none of the options pertain to me on part 11a-12 Citizenship Status?
3. My mom is our co sponsor and she has a green card for the above mentioned part 11a-12 Citizenship Status will she be filling out 11d - where it asks for the A number?
4. My mom does support my brother and I (I also have a job though), but we all live in one house. On parts 10a-21 Dependents' Information will she list my brother and I and select "wholly dependent on me for support"? Would I be "partially dependent" since I also have a job?
5. As above mentioned, 10a-21 Dependents' Information, will my mom also list my fiancé under the Dependents' and select "partially dependent on me for support"?
6. Now part 3 26a-38 where it is saying have you submitted a USCIS petition : for me, I would but my fiancé's information but my mom would leave that blank correct? Because the initial petition I filed.
7. As above mentioned, Part 3 38 do my mom and I both select "I intend to support person in part 2"? And then the additional information on how and etc in part 7?
8. Regarding the additional information, What verbiage should I use on supporting my fiancé upon arrival with room and board?
@Naes Please provide your insight, you've been so helpful before
Thank you everyone so much in advance and hope all is well!

It was very close if not exact. Started calling after a week. They told us to use prompt 5 instead of prompt 7 since we got a email that we were “expedited”. Think that had to with electronic processing. 🧐

Hi everyone!
Just thought I could share some information I learned today after being on hold for a few hours. So the USCIS has up to a month to look at the RFE response you sent back and reply within a month. Which I hope is accurate. Just thought I’d share!
also, idk if any of you have read my depressing posts about my RFE, I’m currently in the process of requesting juvenile records that state I have no record. Sent it in today and may take up to 2-3 weeks. So I’m in the waiting stage.
Good luck to everyone! Congrats on those who’ve been approved! And stay strong for those who haven’t, our time is coming! And for those with rfe’s, be strong everything will work out eventually!

Hi,
I’m usually team positive and optimistic but the last 2-3 sentences got me... I’ve also gotten more answers from this free, forum with people who we’ve never met but are so helpful. When I have a lawyer and he’s not very helpful... I also feel like I’m in the dark especially with this RFE... like I waited 6 months for USCIS to send us an RFE ...
but I agree, silly me I thought fiancé visa would be easier and faster than getting married then doing that paperwork...
So thank you to everyone here and also we will all get our approvals one day,

I was thinking more about your situation and calling for a Tier 2 agent tomorrow to tell them that this is a JUVENILE record may resolve the case if YOU disclosed it and they didn't realize that it was juvenile. I don't know that they can ask for those records???
I presume you've already checked it out, and not sure which county you're in, but I'm a resource hound on the web so let me know if I can help track down info for you or call around tomorrow.
I think we'll get an approval response within 2wks even though they quote 30 days. Some come within days of sending a response back. Don't stress on that point so much!!!
Keep your head up and good luck tomorrow. Offers open if I can help navigate the system (worked in Washoe county courts so I know those best)!!
Xoxo

Oh no no I also think this forum is amazing!
I cant thank the people in this forum enough for everything!
Maybe I wrote it wrong. I meant my lawyer is unhelpful.
And yes I agree with you. I just shared my frustrations so you wouldn’t feel like you’re the only one who was upset with the system.
Sorry for the misunderstanding! I love this forum and the helpful people in it!

Yeah! You’re so right. I just honestly hope this does not set us back more than a month waiting for our NOA2 approval. I’m terrified and very worried/confused/scared/sad just tons of feelings... I know there are those before and after our filing date who haven’t received their NOA2 Yet... but it’s just so terrible .. I hope this RFE won’t set us back

We have a lawyer and just received and RFE dated 2/14 but got it today... And I honestly have been communicating with his paralegal, through phone and email. I don't remember the last time he's replied to my email or i've been able to talk to him on the phone. And every time I call or email the paralegal seems like she just wants to end the conversation asap. I also regret getting the lawyer...

Thanks for sharing! Well I have to wait until tuesday, I'm assuming monday things will be closed since it's presidents day?
My scenario might be different. I didn't even go to court. I asked my lawyer like 100 times if we had to put it. I was arrested and held in the juvenile holding cell thing - I wasn't even in the whole orange juvenile deal.. Only in the holding area for a few hours.. So thats why I was unsure but my lawyer should've told me what yours told you! Agh so mad.

Yeah like @naes said... doing it yourself, rapid visa, lawyer etc. whatever .. nothing guarantees you're "in the clear".
But spending thousands or hundreds and still getting an RFE is disappointing because you paid for them to make sure there were no mistakes.
But doing it yourself can also be stressful.
So my thoughts to you is just, wait it out! Your time is coming! August did work super fast.. I got my rfe dated valentines day it just came in the mail today.
In the end, we'll go to extremes to be with our loved ones

Hi everyone...
I’ve been a long time lurker, but I really needed some sort of support and reassurance so now I’m posting. Our NOA1 was August 7th and we received a RFE in the mail today February 17th. Obviously I’m heartbroken and upset and angry. We hired a lawyer to make sure we wouldn’t get to this...
Anyway, has anyone had experience with an RFE? Does this push us back to the end of the line again? What happens after this.. unfortunately it’s a weekend and Monday is Presidents’ Day so my hands are tied until Tuesday...
Thanks in advance and I don’t mean to sound needy o know there’s those before and after me who haven’t received news yet. But congrats to those who have.
