No the interview does not need to be scheduled or completed by that date. You actually have one year to process your interview application. Your Embassy will move your date forward in 4 month increments till you have exhausted the one year.
Thank you, I dont remember reading this info anywhere. Regardless will have an interview scheduled asap.

Hi all,
I have a question, does the interview have to be scheduled before the Validity date expires given on NOA2? Im kind of worried! Ours is vaid til 08/09/2018

That case tracker has nothing to do with NVC.
read this
What to do after NOA2 Approval? How to contact NVC? Click here for info - https://goo.gl/KggThF
Naes, thank you! Have to admit have not been on here for a few weeks. Was such a relief after getting NOA2..

Well I'm not sure though
The status on my case tracker only shows the NOA2 approval, does not say anything about being at the NVC, even though it is..... keep our fingers crossed..

I was also told that it's currently on administrative processing. Right now the status on the tracker site is At NVC stage.
noa2 apr 6, nvc received apr 30, number generated on may 2.
So, not a concern? The way he said, " you're case is in an unusual situation, its in administrative processing" ok, thanks will try not to stress over!

Just called NVC, our NOA2 was April 11,
So, was told they have received the case, BUT it is on administrative processing.... what does that mean?

Oh oops, sorry. Yeah, the weather was the main reason to choose for the U.S. above Amsterdam actually. What were yours to bring your fiancé to Ohio instead of moving to the Netherlands?
He is in Nijmegen. I guess it comes down to job opportunities for us..

Thats what I tell my fiance, the weather is somewhat the same as in the NL.. Yes I live just about an hour south of Lake Erie. Yes, Hummingbirds can easily be attracted... Youre country is beautiful so, choice isnt easy!
How is he coming along with his Dutch?
I started learning Dutch many years ago already....Always frustrating some people I understand perfectly, & others depending on where they live, I dont understand dialect at all!

You're at the northern end of Ohio, right? I'll be in the south of Indiana so I'll be having almost the same kind of weather as the Netherlands. I'm really looking forward to going. I miss the huge butterflies and the hummingbirds.
Congratulations love!
My fiancé is learning Dutch at the moment. It's the cutest thing ever.

Hey everyone!
here a dutchie who is going to move to San Diego. I haven't been very active here, since I wasn't that aware of all of the action here. We filed our I-129 in September, got our noa2 on 30-03 and I filled out the DS-160 a few days later. Now I'm still waiting for my package 3. Hopefully everything went well and I'll receive my package very soon.
Nice to mee you,

Follow up to my last post - before attempting citizenship on either side, I recommend speaking with a lawyer. For the US: the Immigration and Naturalization Act wording has a contradiction with State Department Guidelines. That's because the government lost a lawsuit in the Supreme Court in the 60s but still remains relatively adverse to dual citizenship. With Trump in office, who knows what will happen. But Netherlands right now doesn't recognize the US Oath of Allegiance to be binding. That also could change.
Thank you, I agree with you're statement about speaking with a lawyer in regards to obtaining citizenship. The wording is complicated, also have seen contradictions. I read as well that the US doesnt recognize a dual ciizenship.
- Helps enormously getting advice from others that have gone through all this.

Not always. You can keep your Dutch nationality under certain conditions. Taking your spouse's nationality is one of them.
For instance. If you marry on a k1, marry, and go through the whole process and become a citizen you can choose to keep your Dutch nationality.
But if you divorce sometime before you become a citizen you no longer take on your spouse's nationality and you will give up your Dutch citizenship.
Thanks for your'e reply. My fiance is Dutch, we were planning on him keeping his citizenship if we wanted at a later time to live there. I thought I understood reading quite alot last year about citizenship. I was looking into acquiring a German citizenship, as my father was born there. But he became a US citizen before I was born , so not possible.. Do you have a link with youre information? Thanks!!
-
I may be mistaken, but I thought in becoming an American citizen that you automatically give up your'e Dutch nationality. Am I mistaken?

My fiance was previously married and I have a criminal record... we got an RFE on Monday. Its not an approval but they've looked at our file and I'm assuming background checks have already gone through.. I was afraid with all of that we would get left behind, but it doesn't seem to be true at least in our case.. hoping to give others peace of mind
Thank you, Yes waa concerned as we have both been married, but only once, & no other issues .Yes as everyone is saying receiving an RFE isn't bad, just send in asap & you're on you're way to NOA2!

I keep getting alerts about updates on my USCIS app, but nothing changes when i look at the latest case approved on my app ( Oct 10 Phillipines). Anyone else that is experiencing the same thing?
Same , but no change in app.

No, I don't think that a single prior marriage alone would cause a 2 month delay in processing. But, my guess is that if a petitioner has had multiple marriages, multiple K1 filings, and multiple arrests in the past, the USCIS will scrutinize the application to be sure that they do not miss something and that will affect processing time. One reason mentioned for this scrutiny is the result of the San Bernardino shooter/killer who entered the US on a K1 . Senator Ted Cruz discusses this for several minutes in the Video.
I will close my thoughts here by noting that I believe that there is a reason that some petitions can take 30, 60, or even 90 days longer than others. I would be interested if anyone has other suggestions as to explain why.
That makes sense to me... Agreed, some of the cases can be complicated.

Oh No!
Who said that???
I quoted they post, it was from JoelThai... though I can imagine it's possible there will be more background checks, according to this theory, I may have to assume my adjudicated dates don't apply? This does not make me happy.. Day 183 today

To be realistic, although any wait is difficult, a 25 day wait is on the good side of bad when considering that some of our September, August, and July friends that are still waiting. And in your case, thankfully it was not a day later.
I think it would be interesting to develop a Case Complexity Score and try to correlate the score to actual wait times. It is very possible my conclusions on this are a bunch of hot air.
So, based on what you're saying, everyone who was previously married could wait another couple of months?
