Day 182 and feeling pretty optimistic about this week.

Nice to hear some optimism! :)

I'm waiting at Gatwick airport right now to fly back to the US to visit my fiancée. Last time I went I got detained for aaaaaages and questioned because I was spending too much time in the US, but this time I have waited months and months to come back and I have all my documentation proving I won't be a burden on the state etc. so here's hoping for the best! It would be amazing to get an approval whilst I'm in the US.

Heads high, everyone! The wait is nearly over... can't do anything but wait :)

I use two different USCIS tracking apps. One gave me this notification last night.. wish I knew what it means.

I'm not 100%, but I think it means that the app is refreshing your case status so that it shows up as the latest update on your phone. 'Pulling' the case status may just mean that the app is resubmitting your case number to the USCIS system to retrieve any available update.

I use a similar app and mine gave me a notification that my case status was 'expired' the other day. Had only a very minor heart attack until I realised that it meant that I had to refresh the app for the latest update!

    Hope this helps.

heeeyy I like the day you guys filed story better :D  But well... It will come it will come!!! at least it went back one day!

Hahaha yeah I realised I posted that story and then looked back at the form posted by Andy&Kitty and it was the received date, not the posting date.

For those who didn't see my story, basically I was complaining that one of the reasons we filed the day we did is because the weather was so nice that day and we decided to take our forms to the post office, have a nice romantic walk on the way, take silly selfies at the post office, and then have a cold pint to celebrate the day. If only the weather had been better a few days before, we might have been enticed out of our offices to sort everything out and fallen on the magical date of Nov 16 instead of Nov 20 haha :D

This was our 'we just filed' faces... :D

I'm a big believer that everything happens for a reason, so I'm trusting that the Universe has got my back. Our date will come one day!

  4. To those of you are thinking of visiting the US on the Visa Waiver Program, a good idea is to check how many months in the past twelve you have spent in the US. If it's six or more, you may get some hassle at the border. I am not saying that this is the test they use, nor am I claiming that I have any insider info whatsoever, this is just my experience of the questions sometimes asked and the correlation with hassle getting admitted. I overheard a guy from Germany get told he wasn't allowed in because he spent seven out of the past twelve months in the US - he got taken back to the plane. And I saw someone - I think from the UK - get detained and eventually let in because they had spent six out of the past twelve in the US.

For documents, I'd always carry more information than is necessary. Priority seems to be return flight, proof of any employment or schooling in your home country, a bank statement or pay stubs, alternative ID, and whatever else proves what you're up to in life!

    Good luck everyone :)

  5. Hello everyone!

My partner Courtney and I got engaged on August 8, 2017, and we filed our I-129F paperwork to the Dallas dropbox on November 15, 2017 by USPS Priority Mail, and a few days later got notified that our application was received on November 20, 2017, and that it was sent to the California Service Center. Now we wait!

I'm from the UK, and I'm returning there on January 4, 2018. I'm in the US on the Visa Waiver Program at the moment, but considering how much time I've spent here as a tourist over the past year visiting my fiancée, I don't think I'm going to be allowed to come back for a while... so hoping for a speedy processing time, like everyone else is!

Today I added up all the estimated/historical processing times for the various stages (http://www.visajourney.com/timeline/stats.php?history=90) and turns out I should be getting called to my visa interview in London around July 2018, but of course I know it could be sooner or later than that.

I saw some posts earlier on about what people are doing to keep their minds occupied while this long process goes through. Personally, I'm finishing a graduate degree in England (I have to go back to for that anyway, so it wouldn't matter all that much if I could stay in the US!) and I'm going to be spending as much of my time packing up, getting organised, selling what I can, and working hard to save money. I'm not as worried about the time apart as my fiancée is; I miss her terribly when I am not with her, but usually I can cope... but she hates it and can't really cope. Sometimes I wish we were back in the old days (hundreds of years ago) when there wouldn't be all this paperwork, but then again hundreds of years ago we wouldn't be allowed to get married so I suppose we have modernity to thank for that :)

Best of luck everyone. Keep those heads high!

    Milly
