The document you need is stamped or sealed or certified by the court, has the judge’s signature, directly awards or declares a divorce between you and your ex, and in Texas often finalizes a lot of other issues.
It might be several pages. It might be a LOT of pages. I saw one that was like 25 pages long one time. Depends on your case. Either way - send the whole package over.
Other states settle everything then grant divorce on a one-page seperate document.
A ? “certificate” ? I assume applies to a divorced immigrant not the USC. If previously married they have to provide whatever legal documention is issued by their home country and it varies a lot.

You will be fine with Decree. If it was submitted at USCIS they probably will not ask for it at interview. But better to have and not need right.
Sorry about the late response, thank you both so much ❤

To be clear, what the document is called varies by State. For some it is called "Decree Absolute". Whatever is the final document issued as evidence the marriage is terminated, is what they are looking for.
Thank you very much ❤

Hi please I need help urgently. We have our CR1 interview coming up on the 17th and we have the certified copy of final decree of divorce from Texas, we don't have the divorce certificate
This interview is at Lagos Embassy, does anyone know if the certified final decree of divorce will be accepted? If not, how can I get the divorce certificate, I searched Google and couldn't find anything for divorce certificate in Texas
Thanks in anticipation

Sis I just called the embassy right now, the older guy answered the call and I asked to speak to the IV department. He told me that they dont answer calls but I begged him to transfer and he did. A young lady answered and attempted to transfer me, and I was hunged up on. I called back went through the same thing, the young lady said she transfered me but they are not answering the phone and there is nothing she can do I begged again she said they are not answering calls. So I hung up the phone. I called NVC, once the lady answered I asked to be transfered to a supervisor. The supervisor came on the line with an attitude, I explained myself to her and told her I was under the impression that the schduling is done by a computer. She said that not true, I told her that one of her reps told be so before. She said they have a scheduling department that does scheduling, so it's done by people not computer. I asked her if she can contact there supervisor for me to let them know that we have been skipped, she said sorry she can't contact them on my behalf. So I asked her what does she want me to do because everything I am begging her to help me with she is resisting. SHe then asked " is there anything else I can help you with?" I told her you can help by giving my husband an interview date, but since that's not an option bye. SO that's my morning so far. No one have the heart of empathy to look into it. I just hope the congressman office is able to get passed this and get us an interview date.
Oh God why all this? God please have mercy 💔
The guy my husband spoke to was patient with him. The headache we experienced was the call transfers but when we got him it was smooth but we didn't ask about IV department though, we just spoke to the person about our interview date
Please I'm so sorry you are going through this, I can't even imagine what you're going through, my heart is broken!

I called the embassy before and they said they dont talk to people, and I will need to email them. I sent the email and they replied by telling me that they dont have my file, that I should contact NVC.
You can speak to someone o, my husband has spoken to someone before but headache was involved

Oh, great! Do they respond to calls like the NVC? Thanks.
Yes they do but it's Nigeria customer service so get ready for their wahala. Try to get a sympathetic one on the phone and plead your case. No do gra gra just dey beg dey go until you get what you want. I believe it's fixable on that level before even getting to the Senate level, no harm in trying anything at this point

Congratulations.....did you contact the congressman before now ?
No dear I figured that since my elders here have been waiting since August CC then I can't complain for November CC. My guess now is that the Lagos and Abuja August merger messed with their cases

My fellow Lagos Embassy applicants, we received our interview date
PD 12/28/2017
CC 11/02/2018
Interview notification 12/17/2018

@Divergent, honestly, you can say that again. This whole process is just too frustrating. You know I belong to this category too along side O&O, Possible and others. I am really tired of tracking the whole process after doing it over and over again. Have even lost count of the waiting period. I just did a simple mathematics now to calculate the waiting period so far. With August 24th CC, it shows that have been waiting for 108 days, and still counting. The consolation is that I'm not alone from Lagos embassy with this terrible thread, and the fact that NVC keep saying we are on queue. This is crazy! Sometimes you feel like 'withdrawing' your case and channel your life towards a different direction because of this unexplainable suspense. Haha! Again, we will remain hopeful for a January date, 11th hour miracle. This is so so crazy!
It is extremely unfair, we all have spouses that we love and miss. People we started this journey with and even before, have united with their spouses
They should make it clear how they really feel about certain countries and not make us feel we are equal in the eyes of immigration. Clearly we're not
Please no one should quote me to say anything about we are not being discriminated against because we clearly are! I am not in the mood to chat with anyone blind enough to not see the discrimination against some 3rd world countries!
Ridiculous! 💔😔

I've avoided this forum for several days because of the sadness I feel when I come online. I can't believe that there are people here waiting for interview dates with August CC and still nothing yet 💔

I'm not 100% sure but I think you have to submit a new ds260
-
I'm not sure how correct this info is but I think you also have to file form i130 together with i485 which is an extra $585. Experienced folks correct me if I'm wrong...
As for the medical, I would attach a letter stating it was sent sealed and resent open
As for the forms, check the edition. It should state if it's the latest edition on each form

@O&O are you still in Nigeria? I'm leaving tomorrow back to the US. My hubby had his interview yesterday and was approved
I'm so sorry you and others are still waiting on a date, can you contact the office of Sheila Jackson Lee? You never know where help can come. She's very passionate about immigration
I'm praying and hoping for a swift positive response for you and everyone else ❤
