Yesterday I received my green card, one week after my interview. I couldn't believe this day was finally here. Very happy!
I can forget about immigration for the next 21 months. The  date I became a permanent resident is the same as the  interview.

Good luck to everyone that still waiting. Your day is coming soon!!

Had interview yesterday, 9/12/18, it was simple: how we met, and she asked if we had anything to show her and we gave a new AOSupport and evidence of being together. We were approved and she explained the 751 in two years.

I know right.  Goodluck on your search! Hope you find something soon
Today, I was talking to HR and she even called back to ask me for a photograph of my EAD card and she was hell confused why I have EAD and should have TN visa as a Canadian Citizen. (I explained to her  on our first phone conversation that I'm married to USC and is doing adjustment of status)
I was so optimistic at the beginning.  But lately, i just don't think about it as much. Spend a couple of hours a day to look for jobs.

    Hello!
I got my EAD in Jan, and I just signed a contract with a really good company. YAY! One more week of relax and back to real life
In my case, I used a quote I saw somewhere here in VJ, I told the recruiter I'm legally allowed to work in the US and I will not need sponsor now neither in the future.
Maybe was just luck or the company itself, but it worked for me!

I heard from somewhere on VJ that a job candidate is not required to answer anything related to the immigration status until the first day of the job when the employer is required to file I9. If this is something one can say during the job interview, one might avoid possibly being discriminated against.

This is just something anecdotal, but may be real.

I know its getting so frustrating. But it does make sense. they may not call it discrimination but probably they would call it as "preference" because  if I put myself in the shoes of hiring managers, one might take into consideration whether to hire someone who has stronger ties to the country and most likely to stay longer and not have "Expiry" date stapled on their work permit. I got asked on my interview several times what kind of work pemrit/visa I have,  until when my EAD card is valid and when I think my green card will come out and I don't even have a solid answer as to when it will be adjudicated.

Competition is so high here in florida, you could be battling with 100 to 200 other candidates for one position (as per me stalking on linkedin), A hiring manager would probably think why fight for one uncertain candidate if there is another candidate in line with almost the same credentials.

I feel like florida is an ideal place if you are in the medical field.

Got my green card today. USPS missed me yesterday but I picked it up at the post office this morning.

I second what shakeyy said.. if you have a non-squeeky-clean past, it's best to wait for the green card.

We had our AOS interview today. I was a bit discouraged that we didn't get immediate approval but the USCIS worker said "don't take that to heart. I just want to look over everything but it all looks good." We've been married for almost 18 years & he said most people he interviews have been married 2 years or less lol. Interview lasted about 20-25 minutes and at the end he explained what the GC meant and that it was good for 10 years and to make sure to not let it lapse...sooo...I am hoping he told us that because it will get approved I'm still nervous though!

    Now we wait!

hey @JoJoJoJo what kind of industry are you in? It's great you already have a job lined up! I didn't start looking while waiting for the EAD because i did not want to keep any employer waiting and now I am stressed looking for a job. I don't have have an absolute urgent need for a job right this moment but i feel like since I have my ead that I should be working and contributing to the household already. Meh, you win some, you lose some. =(

No combo card. I received a separate card for my EAD which states not valid for re-entry and the AP will come in the form of a paper document.

Just got a text and my I-485 case online changed to "New card being produced"

I can't wait to have my green card in my hands.
Going back home in about a month to visit the parents.

Do you guys know if I should return my combo card once I get the green card?
