IR1 Spouse will have her interview in a few weeks. Is there any sense in uploading the updated sponsor and joint sponsor tax returns, I-864, bank statements etc. to CEAC and submitting documents? Since we are already documentarily qualifed, will that reset our qualification by any chance or cause any other issue, or it does no harm? This is for Mumbai India.

Hello, IR1 / IR2 case - I have 2 submitted DS-260s , one for my wife and one for my stepdaughter, and there have been minor changes since we submitted the forms nearly a year ago. In my wife's case, spouse (me) was unemployed at the time of submission, but now am employed. In daughter's case, her job title has changed, she also passed out of her college degree which she was pursuing at the time of submission. Also her secondary phone is no longer valid. Would it be prudent to ask the consulate to reopen the DS-260 for these changes? alternately, can we just inform the officer at the interview? Thanks!

My current year income is more than double the 125% income guideline amount for my household size. However, I have been employed for close to 1 year, prior to which I was unemployed for 3 years. I have a significant amount of liquid assets, around 2.5x the household size requirements for my household. Should I include my assets in the I-864 even though my current annual household income well exceeds the federal poverty guidelines for my household size?

NVC to Mumbai Consulate Gather Here!!!
sharpie11 replied to BeHealthy's topic in US Embassy and Consulate Discussion
For US citizen, IR2 case, as far as I know the date that matters is the date of filing of I-130, the child's age is frozen on that date. See link below. https://www.uscis.gov/green-card/green-card-processes-and-procedures/child-status-protection-act-cspa If you are an immediate relative, a VAWA self-petitioning abused spouse or child of a U.S. citizen, or a derivative child of a VAWA self-petitioning abused spouse or child of a U.S. citizen, your age is frozen on the date the Form I-130 or Form I-360 is filed. If you were under the age of 21 at the time the petition was filed, you are eligible for CSPA and will not age out. However, you must remain unmarried in order to qualify. -
Hi, had a quick question - I was adding a Joint sponsor in CEAC (my mother) and mistakenly added a low-res over compressed version of the 864 while adding my mom as Joint Sponsor. CEAC is not allowing me to remove the document, so I have added the correct resolution I-864 as one of the attachments to the Joint Sponsor, with a note saying this is the higher -resolution version of the document (CEAC has an option to add the affidavit as an attachment as well) - will NVC be able to pick up the correct document or are they likely to kick this back to me to reattach?

got it, well, I will just submit all 12 months worth of statements and the letter -- I was having problems compressing so many files together but I have managed to do so. thanks!

Hi, I have obtained a letter from the bank addressed to the consulate that shows : 1) average balance for the last 12 months 2) current balance, 3) the date the account was opened with the bank. Should this be enough to submit with the I-864, or do I still need to submit statements?

Hi This may be a silly question but I was wondering who actually should log in to CEAC and upload / submit the affidavit of support + financial documents of sponsor and DS260 civil documents? Is it the applicant for both ?

Hi, Quick question - my mother is the joint sponsor in my case. Her name only has a first name and last name but I just discovered that her pay stubs are showing a middle initial in addition to her first and last name because her employer erroneously included her maiden last name as middle name in her records way back when. Her passport, employer letter, domicile proof (driver license, utility bill) all have the correct name (without the middle initial). Will I need to attach a letter explaining the discrepancy along with the pay stubs, or can I wait for if NVC has a question regarding it?

Hi , I had a question on this. Since it has been 17 days since the last bank statement arrived (on August 15) and I have since then also had a salary deposit, can I just put the current value of my bank account, and include a printout of the current bank balance and transactions since the last statement + 12 months prior bank statements as evidence of the latest bank balance, or will it still be better to enter the amount mentioned in the statement from August 15 as my bank balance in part 7 item 1?

I want to use my stock holdings and bank account value (savings + checking) to supplement my income in the I-864, I wanted to know - Do we enter the value of the savings+checking account and stock value on the day we sign the form (Since stock values do change from day to day)? - What kind of evidence do we need to include - 1) Bank statements downloaded from online banking for last 12 months , or a single bank statement from online banking that shows the account balances for the last 12 months ? 2) For stocks - Tax reporting statement from last year + Brokerage monthly statement downloaded for online for each month of this year ? Will this be enough? Is any attestation required?

Ok thanks, will follow the advice on this site. I was unsure about putting my annual salary for "current individual annual income" because my job starts in September. As far as being close, I do have enough in cash to cover 5x the difference even if I did enter my September to December income in that field.

Hi there, I was unemployed all year and just recently got a job that starts from Sep 1. I had a question Regarding "current individual annual income" on the I-864, I know the advice on this site is to put the annual salary rather than expected income for the months that I will actually be employed, however other sites seem to recommend only putting the expected income for the current year. Would it be incorrect if chose to only put expected (for the months that I will work), rather than my annual salary (so far I have the offer letter that states the annual salary) in the "current individual annual income" field? In my case, that amount comes close to meeting the amount required to support my household size, plus I have savings that will cover the difference. I will be attaching a letter from the employer stating my annual salary as well.

Actually they are looking for "publicly available information". Hence if my spouse's name is "Jane Doe" and her comments appear on youtube under the name "Jane Doe", then that is her social media identifier in Youtube is how I understand it. Hence the name that appears over her comments would be her social media identifier for YouTube..
