So we got our AOS interview (03/18/19) way before the prediction date for when my wife would get her EAD/AP and last week she got an email informing her that our case was approved and the card was in production (card has been mailed yesterday!) which is great! However, we have some doubts regarding the SSN. She requested her SSN through the EAD form but now that the case has been closed we don't know if the AOS case will take over the request for an SSN or if we'll need to go to an office and request it again. We wanted to include her SSN on our joint tax return form and with the deadline approaching we're getting a bit worried. Has anyone gone through something similar?

I know the clerks of court require a certified translation once you go to the US to get married on a k1, but do they also need the foreign birth certificate to be apostilled?

Did she have it mailed or did she pick it up?
Mailed.

Forgot to post an update, but my fiancee received her visa on the 26th! She's got a flight and she's coming in three weeks!!

Does Rio send an email after they've issued the visa? If they do, how long does it usually take to get that email?

But could you have filled it out even before it said ready?
I'm certain you can fill it out as soon as you have your RDJ number!

So we got out RDJ number on Thursday ☺ Hopefully I'll see the in transit status by the end of this month, se Deus quiser!
Do you guys know if I can already fill out the ds-160 while I wait for the case to be ready? Or maybe started filling it out, saving it, and then submitting it? That way I wouldn't lose time in filling it out when I'm able to schedule the interview.
We filled ours out as soon as it was ready.

That is a good question.
When she booked the interview, what method did she choose to get her passport back? Essentially, I don't see much difference between having the Consulate send the passport to a Casv near you guys or straight to your place: they will use Correios for that in both cases and the shipping time will be pretty much the same.
In my case, the main reason I chose to pick it up in Rio was because I simply do not trust Correios in any way, lol.
Ah, I asked her and she chose to have it sent to her, which explains why she doesn't want to book a flight until she has it in her hand. She doesn't trust Correios either lmao

Thanks!
I chose to pick up the visa at the CASV so I went there last Monday (Sep 10).
I only got the email saying I should schedule an appointment to collect it on Sep 5 - that is, 6 business days after the interview, but there were applicants who got the email within 2-3 days. Pretty fast considering all the other stages of this process! XD
Can you pick it up at any CASV (ex. Recife), or does it have to be in Rio? My fiancee's interview is this coming Tuesday, but she lives all the way in Fortaleza--so, it's not so easy for her to take a trip back down to Rio!

Does anyone know if the Rio consulate accepts scanned and printed originals of the i-134 form, or do I need to send the originals to my beneficiary? I'm just a bit worried they may not get there in time before her interview.
Thanks!

My fiancee got her interview date for mid September! Now I'm wondering if I can scan the affidavit of support for her, or if she needs the original.

Got our "in transit" email today! I see a lot of others have too, I'm so excited for us!
-
What all can my fiancee do now that we have our case number? Can she schedule an interview and her medical exams?
-
Got our case number today! Our NOA2 was July 10th. I'm so excited, I wonder how long it is from here?
I was on hold for 15 minutes, too. Not bad, but that music is hideous.

November seems to be a new era. All of the other months started out much quicker once they got started, and didn't do this weird start in the middle of the month thing, or have a strange day get a bunch of approvals a month before everyone else.
I think they are having issues switching to their new system...
Get it the hell together, USCIS!

Does it usually move this slowly? I'm a late-late December filer and it's killin' me!

Are these items ONLY for beneficiaries who are in the US at the time of filing, or do I need to put her information in there from her last visit even if she's back in Brazil? Reason I'm asking is that the instructions on the form seem to contradict the ones on the site. Thanks!

leave it out they like boarding passes more as it shows the person actually travelled.

Thanks to the both of you!

Hi! I have a question while I'm compiling all my documents for the I-129F:
My Brazilian fiancee has boarding passes and passport stamps in English that prove she was here a month ago as well as bank statements that prove we were in the same places, but her flight itinerary is in Portuguese. Is it better to go to the trouble of getting it officially translated and including it, including it without being translated or hand-translated by my fiancee, or to just leave it out? Thanks! -
It's all good, I was just curious! Thanks, everyone.
Green Card approved before EAD and AP (cases closed) but what happens to the SSN requested through the EAD form?
in Adjustment of Status (Green Card) from K1 and K3 Family Based Visas

Thanks! She's going to call a Social Security Office tomorrow and if everything works out we'll try to get it done tomorrow. We did check on the ITIN before but we were informed that requesting one might delay her request for a SSN. We're going to talk to someone from the office tomorrow and see what our quickest/best option would be.
