DO NOT call each other wife or husband in front of an Embassy personnel. I can guarantee you will not like the outcome. Using that type of language will send red lights and sirens to the CO. You want a smooth interview with the outcome of an approved visa. I have seen some who used that terminology and were denied because the CO felt that the couple had already married at the time of the interview.

Jeez I wish I had a nickel for every time that question has been asked the past week.

We have seen that sometimes they will renew a form that expires and we have seen it continue to be used until such time as a new form is release. In any event, they will most likely use the start date of the new rendition of that form and they will tell you when they will discontinue a form. All updates to forms can be tracked here: https://www.uscis.gov/forms-updates  If you see a form that will soon expire and it may expire after it's intended use (Embassy interview) then it's best to wait till you are closer to your interview.

All previous editions are accepted anyway. The OMB (Office of Management and Budget) expiration date only matters internally for the USCIS. That expiration date has nothing to do with whether or not it will be acceptable for you to use. The edition date is what matters. The accepted edition dates for the forms are listed on the site where the forms can be found and downloaded. The I-134 states this. > https://www.uscis.gov/i-134

Thanks, @LuFlolady. And congrats your case is transferred on this shipment batch. It should be in SA soon. Check the time line of those who have interviewed in Johannesburg to get some ideas. My delivery time turned out to be sooner than those from Indonesia. It just needed three days since "in transit" to "ready". I believe @Lucy&Jason's case needed 5 days to be ready. So mileage may vary

Yaaaaay! Congrats on getting an interview date we just got notice today that our case is in transit! We are so excited.... About how long did it take ur case to reach ur embassy? And how long did it take for ur case to get to "ready" status once it was at the embassy?

Gather all your documents and put it in a binder or a folder. Make sure it won’t be easily detached.

No need for updated letters. USEM never asked for them and they still maintain that position.

Also, you can't schedule the appointment till they have the Eligibility Letter, which is emailed from USEM once the case is set to ready. This is a change that took place last month and has been reported on by others who have attempted to use the "old" way that you are referring to. Medical is the same procedure, must have the EL from USEM to attempt the exam.

    1. Yes just like that unless the beneficiary is divorced then you need to submit documents. In the form 129F it is being asked there the current address and the embassy in which you wanna wish the interview will be held.

    2. Yes just put N/A if it doesnt applies to you. No worries about putting N/A to questions as much as it needs to be. 😊😊
  22. Thanks
