Got my approval today.
Checked the status and it says that it's still being reviewed but noticed that the date changed to today, April 9. Signed in to my USCIS account to see an approval file uploaded under documents.
Yay!
Great, congratulations!!!
May I know when did you file your petition?

The answer is NO if you have never filed form i-130 on their behalf or any other person. Regardless of wether either parent had been to the states on a tourist visa the answer remains No. if you answer NO, you wouldn’t be asked for location.
Thank you!

i am not very sure but if this is the first time you are filing for your mother then your answer should have been a no as you have never filed for her.
if she entered USA through any other visa and that was filed by you then your answer should be a yes.
i assume this is the very first application you are making for your mother ever.
again dont take this very accurate as i can definately be wrong and not understanding your situation.
Hello Karishma,
Thank you for replying.
Yes, is the first application for both of them.
I already filled my mother application last night and on that application my answer was a NO.
I forgot to mention that now I am filling out my father's application and that's why I answered YES on his application because I filled for my mother last night and she is the other alien.
After that they are asking where the petition was filed? Do they mean the state I live in or the service center that received it?

Hello Everyone,
I hope someone can help me.
I am filing for my parents who live outside the US.
I am filing out the i-130 form online and it asked me these questions.
-Have you EVER previously filed a petition for this beneficiary or any other alien? Yes or No (I answered yes because I filled out the form for my mother last night).
My question is When it says where the petition was filed, does it mean the state I live in or the service center that received it?
What would the result section be since the case will be in processing? (Should I write Pending? ).
Thank you for your help!

Congrats on the successful of your journey.
Could you please show where to learn the meaning of the words? I just practice 100 questions, reading and writing, but first time heard about asking the word meaning.
Thank you
Thank you!
Sure, I watched some videos on YouTube regarding the meaning of the words on the N-400 application, I didn't know about that either until one day I was listening to the videos on YouTube, and it started playing that one by accident.
This is one of them (1) 30 MOST ASKED N400 VOCABULARY | 2022 N-400 Naturalization Interview - YouTube and she has more on her YouTube channel.
I also printed these pages: updatedvocabn400.pdf (literacymn.org).

Hello Everyone,
I can finally say that my Immigration Journey is over.😀
Thank you so much for sharing your experiences, it really helped me a lot.
Here is my Timeline
04/03/2022: Application N-400-Online-3 years rule-K1 Visa
04/03/2022: Notice of application received-Online
04/03/2022: Biometric Reuse Notice-Online
09/10/2022: Interview scheduled for 10/15/2022 (Mt. Laurel, NJ)
10/15/2022: Interview & Oath Ceremony
Everything was very fast; my interview was scheduled for 12:45pm, the officer called me at 12:52pm and it was done by 1:05pm
Questions:
1)If both the president and the VP can no longer serve, who becomes president? The speaker of the House.
2)What is the name of the speaker of the house? Nancy Pelosi
3) We elect a U.S Senator for how many years? 6
4)There are four amendments to the constitution about who can vote. Describe one of them. - Citizens 18 and older can vote.
5)Who is the Father of our Country? George Washington
6)Who was the first president? George Washington
Reading:
When is Columbus Day?
Writing:
Columbus Day is in October
Then the officer went through the N-400 Application, she asked me some of the Yes/No questions and the meaning of “Claimed” and “Constitution”.
After that she said CONGRATULATIONS and told me that they had a Ceremony scheduled for 2:00pm and if I wanted to wait and I said 'YES". The Ceremony last around 30 minutes.
Thanks again and I wish you all the best in your journey.

This may be a dumb question but I keep seeing the acronym "VAC" what does this stand for?
Don't worry, we all learn day by day.
It is the Visa Application Center (VAC)

thank you for your explanation, it's a relief
You are welcome!
That is what I will do if I need to travel before my GC arrives, but anyway try to find out how things work in your state before going to the airport.

My certificate doesn't show my former name and new name. Is it because marriage certificate in every state are different? Mine was from Utah state
Every state has their own rules.
I am in New Jersey and here they don't change your name in the Marriage certificate.
My marriage certificate doesn't have my married name, they said if you want to change your name you just need to present your Marriage certification and your birth certification and you should be fine.
So I did like that when I applied for my SSN and For the AOS, my combo card arrived with my married name.
When you travel you have to show your passport and married certificate and like that you prove your new name in your Combo Card and so on.

She just requested it from the IRS and it will take 5 to 10 business days to gets it. Her ex husband dont want to give it to her.We are just wandering if W2 is enough to send the i864 now. Thanks for the reply
It isn't enough the W2, I didn't know about the tax return and I just sent the W2 and now I got a REF requiring the tax return.
My advise to you is get the tax return and send it.

Hello Everyone,
I have received an email on Friday saying an action has been taken on my case. I logged in to my account and I've checked the documents section, and the approval notice was there. The case status still shows actively reviewing.
I-130 filed online for Mother and Father.
Mother's Date filed: 04/29/2023
Father's Date filed: 04/30/2023
Approved Date for both: 05/10/2024.
