    Day 225 for us... NOA1 Nov 2nd. 😕

We have inquired and contacted our congressman.  She said it could take 1 to 2 weeks before receiving an update from USCIS. So we wait... and wait some more. She emailed me this past Wednesday letting me know there were no updates yet. And this coming Wednesday (June 20th) will be the 2 week mark. So I'm really praying there's some kind of news or update - and that it's positive. 👍

Congrats to everyone that's approved! Hope your journey continues to be smooth. 😉

I'd say in your case, the clear winner is CR1 visa. That's because you live in a DCF country and are eligible (DCF results in a CR1). That will bring the wait time down to half or less of that of the K1. The K1s main advantage is speed over the CR1. Everything else is a downside-- a period of unemployment in the US (at least 3 months, but increasingly it's been approaching 6), the expense and stress of Adjustment of Status, the fact it's a bit of an odd visa and state DMVs don't always know how to deal with it. For you in this situation, CR1 is likely to be faster than K1 and cuts out all that hassle.

    Update for my situation:

I was able to get ahold of USCIS customer service (you have to press the prompts that say you "lost" your receipt number, which will eventually get you to a representative) She said that normal processing times for the K1 are 5-7 months so since I was outside of the normal processing time she made a service request for me.... Then she said the system would not let her make a service request yet since I'm only 1 day outside the normal processing time and to call back again on Monday.

So I'll cal back again Monday and have them do a service request, hopefully that does something.

If it were up to me I wish they would assign cases in the order they were received. Even if my wait was longer. That way some people are not waiting 230 days while random November mid filers were getting approvals in 150 days. A few weeks apart is understandable but 3 months apart is chaos even for the US government. And there's no rhyme or reason. Some simple cases take longer or get RFEs and some complex ones get approved early with no RFE even the person admitted he may have submitted something wrong or partially complete

Officially hit 211 days..so I called USCIS for the first time. The lady on the phone was very polite but Im afraid not at all knowledgable about anything. It took a while but she figured out how to put in an out of normal processing time case inquiry. She said they will get back to me by 06/28/18 on the status of the case. Im hoping to God that it doesn't for whatever reason just make them mad and take longer. I know that's probably not going to happen but this process has made me so paranoid over every little thing, I don't want to annoy them. I waited until we were past their official processing date to call. Im so frustrated right now, and Im frustrated for all the people who filed before us who are also still waiting. It's so hard silently reading previous months' posts and seeing them go in order, and then November was a complete mess of a month in terms of them going in order. Sorry for this rant guys, but Im so emotional right now as I just had to tell our family and friends that the late August wedding we wanted to plan is not going to happen.

Im going to touch base with our congresswoman's office again tomorrow. She said it would likely take a week or two for an update - and tomorrow marks one week.  Fingers crossed!! 🤞 Just REALLY don't want to get an RFE at this stage... after waiting so long.

Tomorrow is day 223...praying for good movement for those of us still waiting!! ☺

Today, at day 238, after my Senator asked for expedited processing over a week ago, I have just gotten a text that they updated my case and they SENT ME AND RFE!!!! I sent in a huge packet with so much proof!!!! I have no  idea what can be missing!!! I am crying my eyes out! And I have to leave to Europe in a couple of days because my mother was diagnosed with brain cancer ( the third kind of cancer in 4 years) and I want to be by her side to support her. So now I won’t have time to respond to this RFE quickly because I won’t be in the country for a couple of weeks. So this is going to add way more than an month for my 8 months of current waiting. I don’t know what to say. When we started this process last year in October, we thought that his POE will be middle of June. Now we are looking at what ?September, October!? I am devastated.

I dunno if this is being selfish or not but I'm really depressed to see all the December filers being approved while we don't hear anything about our case? I'm happy for them though but feeling frustrated when I realize that hey you filed first before them? Sorry for the vent out but I really need this to calm me down

Yes, it's very hard to read this and not feel something...😕

Today we are at 220 days waiting.  And have been very patient throughout this process.  We waited until we were outside processing times based on the new system date (not the old) just to be sure they couldn't say we inquired too early.

Its like waiting in a long que and the person at the end cutting in front of you - nobody likes that.  We are all anxious and waiting to be with our finances. Some of us cannot see them every few weeks/months (I know its been a year for us, and it truly stinks.)

I totally agree with @jakejon and @Alekezam it really slows everything down, because the congressman still has to look at your case and respond telling you that you're not outside the processing time yet - which slows down the process for all of us that did wait and follow the guidelines and are allowed to inquire.  So when you say, "what can it hurt?" I'd say more than you know. Please be considerate of those us waiting ahead of you. And most definitely do not encourage others in your month to follow you. We all have to wait.  Once you reach 210 days or 7 months - THEN you can inquire, that's what the USCIS official website instructs. [I'm thinking if they made those that inquired too early to go to the back of the line in waiting for their NOA2, for not following directions...a few more people would learn to follow directions.   Just a thought.]

Our NOA1 is Nov 2nd (old system) and Nov 6th (new system). So we've been waiting 7 months and 8 days - and our case is not complicated at all.

Best of luck to all those waiting still, it's definitely not easy.

Really hoping we see some November movement this coming week!!

I haven’t seen my fiance for almost a year now. I dare say it’s his fault for not wanting to move here when I asked him. Now we pay for the consequences.

Anyway, waiting for more than 7 months is too cruel! I got back our petition from the embassy, scanned, with handwriting from USCIS’s staff. Based from the simple scribbles, and that much of experience dealing with forms etc... they should haven’t take more than 10 minutes for one petition. Maybe because of the workloads or understaffed... idk. I’m willing to volunteer for them if they need help, specifically for untouched November filers and previous month’s filers. Seriously.

Anyway 💪 best wishes for all of you! The patience will paid off.
