 A quick question about New Zealand police check please. Basically,  I lived in New Zealand for about 5 years so obviously apart from my home country's police check, I have to apply for NZ one as well. However, all the information on the internet seems very vague and confusing to me. Is the one from Ministry of Justice fine ? or NZ police vetting ( I dunno if I'm eligible ) ? Which one I should apply for ?
 
Anyone here have done it before ?

So I got home to a letter that looked heavy and did not look like it was printed on regular white paper. Thought that it was an RFE like everyone has been getting nowadays and couldn’t believe the approval when I saw it!!! (actually read the approval notice several times just to make sure I wasn’t wrong, lol).
 
SOOOOOOO I decided to prank call my baby at 7:30 am her time. She just wanted to go back to sleep and told me to call her later. But I told her I missed her too much and wanted to video chat now. She wouldn’t even turn on her lights so I was talking to her in the dark; She said it was too cold and just wanted to be under the covers. So to get her out of bed, I finally told her that I received some mail I didn’t understand and wanted her to tell me what she thought about it. She grumbled, turned on the lights and after 2 seconds she just yelled at me (I know, how rude!!! LOL)... She told me that she “forgave me” for being mean to her and I replied ‘But YOU are the one that told me to wake you up as soon as I hear anything.” EPIC!!! Hahahahaha
 
The best thing is that, 2 weeks ago, I booked a flight to see her next month so we get to celebrate right away...

Guys Just opened the mail, WE GOT APPROVED!! Thank you God!! CONGREGATIONS EVERYONE ELSE WHOEVER GOT APPROVED TOO!!! Ours was aproved says on paper 24th. We are July 13 filers!!!! READY FOR THE NEXT STEP TEAM MATES!! Lets get the show going!!

To all you lovely people on here who are still waiting for the magic "golden ticket": I was really desperate. Losing hope and faith and feeling like this would never end. Like my whole life would be just a very long break. But today my fiancé called uscis and just got called back. I was worried about our case being one to be forgotten or worried about getting an rfe. But we were approved!! Noa1 date may 26th. Approved on nov 14th  case tracker still shows "received" 
so don't give up. Your day might already have come and you just don't know it yet. Love is stronger than this long process...

Wow.... I'm a July filer. I agree that the same way there are extremely good natured helpful people here, there are also some that are quite abrasive (nicest term I could find... Hahaha). 
 
I'm not sure where this is all getting personal. But as we all wait... Let's take some time to try to be a better version of ourselves. Worse thing that can happen is going through this process and then getting a divorce because we mistreated our loved ones (the same way we are mistreating perfect strangers here). Divorce rate is at 50% so as in love as we all are, let's not fool ourselves and think it will never happen to us (I'm sure all divorced people can say they never thought they would get divorced either). So let's also work on making our respective marriages last no just starting them.
 
So let's all reflect on this and for those who think they are perfect... Please seek help for your delusions of grandeur, lol. I know this is stressful and finding other people not manage this stress well is annoying and angers us... But no comment in VJ is going to make your approval process faster nor slower... All comments are to be taken with a grain of salt (although some sugar, humor, positive comment, magic wands would be helpful here too, lol).

All I want at this point is for everything to get approved; The government can take as long as they want as long as they approve her visa, lol. This process almost feels like people are suspicious until proven innocent which stinks for all the real applications out there.
 
Anyways, I'm blessed that I'll be able to see my fiancee this weekend. I've told her that if there is one thing all this waiting has taught us is how much we should cherish the time we spend together, text, etc. Going through this minimizes any argument we have... I mean we are going through this JUST to be together... We keep reminding each other to put everything in God's hands as there is no better place to be (also keeps us from going insane, lol)... God bless y'all =)

Account for the worst case scenario. Remember that even if you got your noa2 by December, you still wouldn't make it by Christmas. You would have had to account for (1) the week it takes USCIS to send the info to the consulate, (2) your fiancée would have had to make the appointment with the consulate and, upon approval (crossing fingers and toes that we all get to that phase), (3) you would have had to wait another week for the consulate to send the passport back to your fiancée with the visa stamp. So if you expect to get noa2 in January, then seeing your significant other the following month is more realistic.
 
Look at the bright side... you can always push and aim for the next special date (Valentines?). Just don't put all your easter eggs in one holiday basket, remember you're dealing with a government agency... =/ (When we started our application in July, I think the noa2 process time was 2.5 to 3.5 months so I understand how you feel). All the best in your application process!

I'm in the same boat lol I really don't care how long it takes anymore, as long as this wait isn't pointless (resulting in a denial). I am wanting to go visit my fiance SOOO bad. It's winter here in Minnesota, so the temp has dropped pretty quickly, which, I am obviously used to. But it's summertime in Mauritius where he's at... I'm waiting and saving up for the interview in South Africa so I can be with him for that. I'm happy you are able to see your fiance this weekend. Cherish every second for all of us that aren't able to see ours for awhile xo

Oh yes now I understand that we must to do so many things. But in July I thought that i will be eaten Thanksgiving turkey with my fiancée))) Then we pray for Christmas. Now it will be good to get our visa till Valentine's Day or to our anniversary what will be in March 14)))
