Kswtangel got a reaction from streanor in April 2018 NOA2 ----> NVC
Yayyyyy!! That’s wonderful, Sarah!! I’m right there dancing with you! Seriously girl, after all of this ####### that we’ve been through, we all deserve to celebrate as goofy, as loud and as crazy as we want to! Just don’t do anything that’ll get you arrested.

I'm a 911 dispatcher and I had to listen to a dad give his 1 1/2 year old CPR while begging her to wake up. Been doing this for three years. THAT was the call that broke my heart. Never happened before. Totally nothing to do with this but damn that was rough.

Soooo....my night just got a little better....
I just called NVC I dialed 7 like normal she said it appears this is an electronic case unfortunately I can't provide any information on it...my response "so does this mean it's been received?" she said it appears the visa center does have it. I told her she just made my night so much better. She giggled...I smiled. I can't call again tonight because I'm on the clock and don't get off until midnight but I will called tomorrow and let you all know if I got my case number or not.

My fiance's medical was originally scheduled for May 12th but after calling every day to check for cancellations, we were finally able to get him in tomorrow! Yay! At the very least, this sooner appointment gives us more of a buffer to ensure the medical arrives at the London Embassy in time for the interview as the medical group that does them here has often been known to take their sweet time sending everything over. But we're tempted to move his interview up as well, by at least a couple of days. Oh, the temptation!

NVC will always tell you “worst case scenario”, for lack of a better term. Yes it can take 30 days, as you were told, or even 6 weeks for your case to arrive at NVC. However as a forum of people who are all going through the same process, we have learned (by sharing our personal experiences with the process) that the average time seems to be about 2 to 3 weeks. Of course some people have fallen on either side of that average, but it is just that, an average. My case arrived at NVC in 22 days but I’ve seen others arrive in a week. Every case is different. There is no set time frame no matter what anyone, NVC or otherwise, tells you.
As far as them adding your email, they are unable to do that until your case is in their database. This is why the agent said you couldn’t add it until 30 days, because that’s the same timeframe he expected your case would take to arrive and be put into the database. They have nothing to associate your email address with until your case arrives and is uploaded into their system. To be honest, 30 days is actually lower than what most of us were told. Most of us heard up to 6 weeks to arrive and up to another 8 weeks for it to be assigned a case number. Luckily, we’ve seen those numbers to be greatly exaggerated by NVC in most cases. Again, there are exceptions. If you’d like, you can send them an email to the email address listed on your NOA2 along with the information it states to include. They will not reply to you until your case is entered into their system and sent to the Embassy but they will have your email address for when it is. Alternatively, just keep calling everyday and update your email address over the phone once your case arrives and is put into their system.
I know there are a lot of pages to read through but this forum is a treasure trove of information. I’ve personally found answers to questions I didn’t even know to ask and I definitely feel more prepared now because of it. If you read through it in your spare time, I think you’ll find that to be true as well. In the meantime, I hope this information helps you along in your journey.

Yes. Medical first, then interview. You can schedule your medical as soon as you have your case number. You don’t have to wait for the status to change at all. Knightsbridge will literally just ask you for the number to put with your file. The interview on the other hand, can’t be scheduled until your file is in transit. The online scheduling system won’t allow it.
They had availability about 2 weeks out when I called and it seems they occasionally open up additional slots on Saturdays.

For London, you are able to book your interview now. Just make sure to schedule it at least 5 business days after your medical so that Knightsbridge gets the records sent over in time.
