I call them because they ask for the letter in the abreu clinic, but in consultorios de visa they just call directly

They'll always ask for that letter but I haven't heard of anyone who actually got it fast, that's why the screenshot of the case status on the NVC website was proposed on this thread.

there they just call the U.S Embassy in DR, because the email that they send take a while to get to my gmail account

I never received an email confirmation from NVC. By the time I got the written letter from them I was already here in the US.

But you have to have one or the other? My fiancé wants to take the Medical next Friday when going for the VAC so he doesn't have to go to the Capital again but our case won't be sent to the embassy from NVC until Tuesday. Everything I check does not state that anything is needed from NVC except on this thread. I just want to make sure he has everything needed. I also read that he cannot take cell phone in to the VAC or medical. Is there a place he can leave his phone because he has to have it with him while traveling to the Capital but won't have anywhere to keep it during the appointments. Also do you remember about how long the medical exam took to complete?

Like I said before, either one you take is fine. The letter from NVC normally takes a while to get to you so what I did is I took a screenshot of the case from the NVC website stating that it was READY. I printed the screenshot and took it to the guy at the register.

It depends on how many people go that day but the exam took less than an hour if I remember correctly.

But isnt there a form called i693 that we need to fill out for proof of vaccinations or do we have to get them done over again here in the states

For k-1 visa holders is not needed because you already did a medical to enter the States. Now, if by the time you get your interview, it has been a year since your medical, you'll have to do it again. That's the only condition. I recently got my green card and I didn't have to do the medical again. You can also read the instructions of that form if you're still unsure.

All I am a bit confused. My fiance is here and he told me that the United States customs took his envelope with his vaccinations in it. Is this normal and dont we need it for the adjustment of status phase.

Nope! They keep them. The results are going to be on your file when you get to the enterview.

She is supposed to send either:

    1) Tax transcripts

    or

    2) 1040 + all W-2s/1099s/other schedules

Sending just the W-2s was insufficient.

Thank you so much for your response. My wife is going to download the transcripts  on Monday. I understand that W2s are included in the Tax Transcript but we're sending them as well just to be sure. Should we also send the employment letters and pay stubs from recent months as well? They're not asking for them but we want to provide as much information as we can this time. Thank you in advance.

  7. Hello everyone! I received an RFE couple of days ago staying that:

"The petitioner/sponsor on firm I-864, Affidavit of support, must submit a complete Federal income tax return submitted to the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) for the most recent tax year.

The petitioner/sponsor's household member on Form I-864A must submit a complete Federal income tax return submitted to the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) for the most recent tax year"

Recently I found out that my wife (which is the American citizen) only sent her W2s for her and our co-sponsor.

I've done some research and figured then that that was not enough.

Would complete tax transcript from the recent year suffice? I've seen people also sending 1040 as well along with the trancripts. Should we get that form as well? She's also getting employment letters from both jobs she currently has although getting pay stubs would be difficult since she's fairly new to both jobs.

We're getting the same information from our co-sponsor too.

What do you guys think? We want to gather the exact information they're asking and we're a bit confused, that's why I'm coming to you for advice. Thank you sooo much in advance!

I had my biometrics done the day before you, and I hadn't heard back either, so I was starting to get worried..We finally got an update from USCIS yesterday that they are ready to schedule an interview. Hopefully that means you will hear back pretty soon as well, but it largely depends on the speed/backlog of your field office. Hope this helps!

Beautiful!! Thank you so much. Where did you get the notice? Mail, text, email?

Okay I will try that.  Thank you soooo much for your time! I know you are way past this stage, so I really appreciate your response.

I know how it feels going through that process and people here were really helpful while I was going through it. If you have ANY question at all, don't hesitate to post it here. Good luck and God bless!!

Yes I did, which I now see it may have been a major screw up on my part. I received our case number from the NVC on 9/5, but the NVC website STILL states our case is at the NVC (not even in transit).

Not necessarily. If the embassy let you schedule the appointment that means they must have the case already, NVC probably hasn't update it yet (could be wrong). It took them 2 days to receive mine. I would try and call the embassy to confirm, I must warn you though, their call center is REALLY bad.

Thank you for the information! I'm a little nervous because we have the fingerprint appointment on 9/25 but our case still hasn't been sent to the embassy. If it doesn't get there in time, I'm assuming my fiance can't go yet and we will have to reschedule it. 😖

So you schedule the appointment without the case being ready? Well if it helps, it doesn't take that long for them to receive the case. When did NVC sent the case to DR?

Thank you! I have another question.  Did you have to get any vaccines at your medical exam? My fiancé is thinking he will need more vaccines during the exam.

Yes I did lol. Everyone I remember did. It was around 18,000 Dominican pesos total if I remember correctly. That was April 2018.

    Hi all!

This was super helpful. So, I just want to make sure I understand everything. The medical and fingerprint appointment can only be done if your case is "ready" (not at the NVC or in Transit) correct?

Also, my fiance ran into some trouble obtaining his immunization records. The hospital he went to growing up in his hometown is not closed down, and they told his sister that they didn't have those records because they "were too old." I believe that is one of the requirements that he needs to bring to the medical appointment.

Has anyone ran into these issues? Any suggestions? Thank you!

You need to schedule the appointment(Cita) first. For that you need the NVC page with your case number to read "Ready". You're going to print that very same page with your case number assigned by NVC and your appointment letter and take it to the fingerprints and medical exam. If you wait for NVC to send you the letter with the case information then you'll be waiting for another 4 months (not exaggerating).

  14. SO! I went this morning with my receipt of my case stating that it was received along with my interview appointment to SERVICIOS MÉDICOS CONSULARES and they took everything and didn't ask for further questions! I got in and got everything  done! I just need to retired the envelopes 2 days before my interview April 5th and we're good to go! Thank you so much for your help, everyone that contributed so I don't suffer a heart attack : God bless you. Hope everything goes well for you!

It is a pleasure to help.

what they are asking for is a letter that the embassy is suppose to send by email and mail box  to the petitioner.

but we never got that letter in the email, so I called a lot the embassy too but they kept saying that I didnt need that letter for the medical, so I emailed them and they sent the same answer that I was getting by phone.

I went to Consultorio de visas and I show them the Letter that NVC sent by email to my fiance, over there is all the information and the SDO Number.

Did your fiance get that letter?

if you got it you could  use that one and they should accept it because they did with me.

and the other choice that works with another girl was that she took a screenshot to the page in the CEAC where you check your visa status and it says READY, meaning that the case is ready for the interview.

That was in the other place called SERVICIOS MEDICOS CONSULARES.

Call them and find out, maybe they can help you.

Calle Bohechío #17, Bella Vista, Sto. Dgo., Rep. Dom

    Tel (809)-533-2200

Good luck in your medical and interview.

If you have any doubt just let me know.

Jesus Christ, God bless you! Thank you so much for the fast reply. My fiancée never got that letter by email but I'm going to tell her to call them. If not, then I'll just print the page where it says the case is ready with the cae number. Again, thank you so much

    Hi, good morning!

After you have gone to the VAC and your case is ready in the USA Embassy in Santo Domingo, you can go to do your medical.

You dont need appointment, you just need to arrive early, before 11.00am.

They work from Monday to Friday.

You can get your results in 1 week but it is better if you go 10 or 15 days before your interview just in case that something happen with their system and so on.

Thank you replying! I went today to ask for the same information. I showed them the Appointment confirmation that was sent to me via email with the information about the appointment and VAC along with the bar codes of the number and my DS160. They told me I need that one and another paper that contains my NVC number. Where do I get the second one? Is that the one sent to my Fiancee in Florida from the NVC? Or do I need to call the embassy which I've done million times already. Thank you for helping with this, I'm really worried since I'm going to my medical next Monday and I need everything ready.

  17. Hello, everyone!

I'm a bit confused with the medical exam before my interview scheduled for April 6th. Is the medical walk-in or do I have to wait for an email sent to me and schedule an appointment? Also, I understand that the medical has to be at least 10 days before the interview, is this correct? Just want to clarify real quick that this is for Dominican Republic medical.

Thank you for taking your time to read this and hopefully reply.
