Consular Electronic Application Center (CEAC) Processing
Immigrant visa applicants in some countries use a Department of State online application center to submit required fees, forms, and documents to the National Visa Center (NVC) for review. This tool is called the Consular Electronic Application Center, or CEAC. It's secure, easy to use, and faster than the traditional mail-in ... -

No, a k1 visa is filed and paid for tie USCIS . Then they process your case.
Noa2 received
NVC case number received.
You then use the case number to make your medical appointment and your interview date and file the ds-160 (free)
you pay the fee for the medical at your center and the interview fee at the embassy or online depending on your country . You don’t pay for anything else .
Yes Andy, that is information I already know.
The case number and Invoice are also for CEAC log in by the petitioner to complete the Affidavit of support. There is a fee for this. Go to uscis... The information is all there in black and white

You don’t need to pay anything for a k1. It’s paid directly to the embassy or on the embassy online website . Are you on a k1 visa?
You take the affidavit with you to the embassy
Yes but my fiance the petitioner completes that and has to pay the fee. I have no dealings with that other than taking a copy to the interview.

No no no
in Poland we don’t have ESTA. To enter states for tourism we must apply for B2 visa. It got cancelled today on my K-1 visa interview. Bcs I can’t hold multiple entry visa for tourism if I’m entering on K-1.
Used my 10 years long B2 to visit my fiancé during K-1 was being processing.
AH phew! I panicked then!
Ive tried to call the NVC but they hung up due to the high volume of calls

I would strongly suggest calling Tuesday morning and speaking to the national Visa Center to make sure that they have put in a request with USCIS
Like, make sure they actually follow through with it and didn’t just send you a letter.
They need to actually submit an inquiry. Ask for a service number or something that shows they contacted USCIS.
The email does lack any real answer to the enquiry. However, I am sure they will work to get the information.
I wonder what the the real reason for the delay is...

Welcome to the VJ website, also known as The Waiting Club
So sorry to hear about the mix-up with your paperwork! How agonizing that must be...but hopefully there's light at the end of the tunnel soon.
The NVC is only just beginning to receive cases with NOA2 dates starting from the end of November. In fact there are people still waiting from earlier in November. But, over the next week/couple of weeks, we should start seeing them receiving cases from beginning of December and onwards.
Now that your NOA2 is more than 30 days old, if you like, you could start calling them to see if they have received your case.
Look here for instructions about how/when to contact them: https://sites.google.com/view/post-noa2/home
Also, you can find information and rough estimates on the spreadsheet linked below... please, please add yourself and your information to it so that we all get a clearer picture of how long the wait is:
And please, please fill out your timeline so that your data will help others understand what's going on.
Thank you for joining us and best wishes to you for a speedy reunion with your loved one.
Woohoo, would be happy to see some movement. Our case was approved November 24th. They said 6 weeks. Currently now at the 51 day mark/7+ weeks. Each time I call the NVC (no case received) ugh! I emailed the NVC research teams and the email they sent back :
Dear Sir/Madam:The National Visa Center received your inquiry and the attached I-797 Notice of Action - Approval Notice. Unfortunately we do not have a record of receiving your approved petition from the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS).NVC will work with USCIS to determine the location of your petition. We will let you know when we have more information. You do not need to take any action at this time. Thank you for your patience as we work with USCIS to ensure your case is moving forward. Can only hope that this week when I call they have some newsPrayers with everyone else in the same boat! -
I’ve been waiting over 6 weeks now for case number.
NVC state they haven’t received the case. An immigration lawyer told me it takes up to 12 weeks but the document from USCIS states 6 weeks. Totally confused.
Mouth approval was November 24th

I heard, because of the bad weather NVC offices are closed today. I read that in May Filers thread also.
That's understandable, I would rather them all safe and warm so they can return to their duties in a timely fashion

I believe you will be together in late March or early April! That wedding is going to be awesome!
Slightly worried now as I have booked to fly out to the USA February 28th to March 29th on a visit as my fiance is home from deployment. After all by the time I get to see him it would have been 8 months since we last saw each other. We just cant wait any longer. The NVC still haven't received our case
kind of leads me to believe we wont hear anything by then or I will be stuck in the states with the expense of flying home early for the interview and medical

I believe you will have your POE by the time April, may comes around.
We anticipated 12 months for the process.
As long as it is, its worthwhile
My visit is booked and even if by some miracle something changes Ill just have to book an early flight home.
I believe there are always potentials of changing interview dates dependent on consulate.
What are your opinions on the Medical, Would you book it now or wait? I understand its valid for 6 months

Yes unfortunately that is not a surprise. You have quite a wait in front of you.
Uscis is holding on to cases and no one knows why and they won’t give answers.
I personally think it’s about statistics.
They want to see less foreigners immigrating and by holding on to cases they shrink the number.
(Just my thought pls dont yell at me I’m soft)
theres nothing we can do we need to wait.
I understand there's a wait. I'm very patient. Ill call them back on the 2nd January.
I guess if it takes them a further 4-6 weeks to even process the case after they have received it, I wont be looking at an interview date before late March/early April, which is fine by me as it means I can continue with my visit to my Fiance

The NVC is a big mystery at the moment.
Has the NVC received your case yet?
This is the average time right now
uscis sending cases to nvc 4-8 weeks
nvc reviewing your case 4-8 weeks
interview stage 1-2 months depending on your embassy/ consulate.
NVC havent received the case yet
They said to send the I-797 and call back 2nd jan
Does it take a further 4-6 weeks for the NVC to review case before sending it on to the consulate?

Hi Everyone,
I hope you all had a Merry Christmas and most of you have received good news by now. Remember no news is good news and I am sure the team are working hard to get through all of the cases by the new year.
If anyone can help with some advice,
Our NOA2 was received on 11/24/2017. The NVC still don't have a case number for us and its been nearly 5 weeks. (Ive send the I-797 over to NVCResearch@state.gov) as requested on the phone. I guess its a case of waiting hopefully only 1 more week.
My fiance has been on deployment and returns back to the U.S soon, I'm looking to book a trip out on my ESTA Visa at the end of Feb for 4 weeks as by the time we get to see each other again its been almost 9 months. Waiting on the process has been hard but waiting for him to get home has been harder.
My concerns are how quick things move from the point NVC receive the case number.
I understand my fiance will need to send an affidavit of support and other documents, anyone know of the time scale for this?
Ive looked at other time lines to try and work out how long from NOA2 it takes to be at the final stage after interview and medical, its looking around the 224 day mark.
How much advance do they give you for the interview? Ive found that its 4 weeks notice. Is this right?
Will I have to book an early flight home?
Most of the second stage for me will be online instead of documents through the post?
Im hoping we will have some notice soon as to how quick things will happen. Ive just shed out a small fortune for flights out to the states and I hope this process is completed before I head out for a visit.
Any advice would be greatly received

Hi All,
I thought I would check back in with you all, as its been a while.
How many more June filers have received great news?? @vocaledge. Hopefully most of you by now
or some of you should get good news before Christmas.
Our NOA2 was received on 24th November 2017 (shy of 6 month wait from submission of I-129F).
We are awaiting the NVC to receive the case so we can access our case number. This can take up to 6 weeks, which on top of the long processing time makes this wait a little easier, but still adds to the lengthy process.
In the mean time we are looking at various information we need to gather. @vocaledge any further information you can provide will be great. I understand we will get all of the information from the NVC in due course but to be prepared in some way would be good.

Hi Guys,
So on the 24th November 2017 we received our NOA2, after a very long waiting time (shy of 6 months), we are now awaiting the NVC to receive the case. The lady at the NVC stated it can take a further 6 weeks for the information to be with the NVC, then we have to wait for a case number. What with Christmas around the corner, we anticipate a further wait.

HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The NVC forwarded our case of the 17th January to the London Embassy. Me being the beneficiary phoned the NVC to update my change of address but they had already sent the case. We had no notification of this.
Does anyone know if they will update the London Embassy with this change of address?
How do the London Embassy communicate with me the Beneficiary? Is it via email or letter?
I have filled out an online form and submitted it to the Embassy however I havent heard anything back.
The lack of communication from the NVC has not helped this situation...
My CEAC status says READY and case last updated today.
