OMG, we just got approved!!!!!!!
I know that most of you are with your entreviews, or NVC .
But I really feel happy that finally they approved us after this long way and I wanted to share it with all of you.
I can't even write this or continue working.

It's always better to have the original, better safe than sorry. And April is definitely too long ago, if I were you, I'd mail her a new one tomorrow!
 
it all varies from embassy to embassy, but also day to day, depending on CO's mood....

VISA APPROVED !!!! It was soft and quick there...My foreign fiance was able to come in too.

Thanks man! I really hope what it says is true... actually I hope this shut down doesn’t last more than a day or two and the government is open again. From what I read in your article and twenty some others I read, the NVC shouldn’t be affected for now unless it was a really prolonged shutdown. Same with the embassies. But of course they don’t specify what and what wouldn’t be affected. Passport services yes, work visas yes (dept of labor closed), but other visas (what other government departments does k1 use? None I can think of...) should still be okay for now from what I read.

They are probably just following up with the initial email, or its just automated. i got an email from USCIS on Friday stating they forwarded to NVC but the following day on Saturday i received an email from NVC stating CSC still had it. I think tomorrow when they open up, everything will be sorted out.

Mine was definitely sent electronically. I'm just not sure why they don't do that for everyone.

I got an email from him today saying he contacted USCIS. Shortly after that I received an email from the CSC saying my case had been forwarded to the NVC. I called the NVC after work and they asked me a lot more questions than normal and then told me my case had arrived today and had been expedited. I received my case, invoice number and instructions. All of this happened today.

My senator got my case forwarded to the NVC today and expedited so I got my case number today, too!  The embassy is being contacted as I type this!  BEST.DAY.EVER!!!!

First my paperwork was sent to the NRC by mistake and then, after they got my paperwork back and gave me a new NOA2 date, they misplaced my paperwork.  I finally got this today, though - "Your case has been forwarded to the National Visa Center. Please allow 30 days from the date of this letter for the NVC to receive the case and enter it into the systems." 

Record holder you say... Yea I guess its just my kind of luck!

65 days of waiting are finally over!!! We got our case approved at the USCIS on Nov 8th.  
NVC finally got our case today, one day before my birthday!!! The best gift ever!!
