Hi! I got an interview in the state I moved to. It took them several months or so. As it was discussed above, theoretically they have an authority to conduct your interview before certain time mark, but it is unlikely.  Before planning your trip double check that it is still there. I cancelled my flight in the last hour it was possible.

Yes, agree that it might have been worse in this regard, but why one agent says that they won't cancel it, they cancel it. And what is that weird, confusing wording: unforeseen circumstances, while they might just clearly refer to change of residency. That's why I am confused even more than frustrated and wondering maybe there is a different reason for the cancelation.

You cannot predict what the agency decides, so be patient, and if possible, cancel the ticket. You are now in a much better place--yes, with the canceled interview. It could have been an unwanted scenario: for example, you travel, go to the interview and still have it canceled being physically present at the interview--waste of time and $. Hope you get your interview rescheduled soon.
P.S. you don't necessarily get put back in line when changing field offices, i'm not 100% sure, but they still tend to process petitions in order-- could be less time, could me longer, depending on thow busy the new office is.

Yes, it is a pain, but given how long things are taking at USCIS right now, I'd fly back for it if it was me.

I would DEFINITELY consider just going back for the interview (especially if they do Oath the same day) Once the interview and oath are completed, you will never have to worry about it again. If you change your office, you will basically get put back in line to wait for an interview.

I don't know exactly what to say. But if I were you, id set up an info pass appointment at the office you likely will end up having your interview at or at least get Tier 2 officer on the phone and explain to them the situation you're in. The reason why i suggest this is that I moved having a pending case and 4 weeks after notifying uscis my address still hasn't been updated online. You don't want this to turn in to a "no show" assuming they will handle it correctly.

If you file an AR-11, they will almost certainly cancel the interview and you'll then have to wait for an interview in the new state, also if you go along to the interview and tell them that you have moved to a new state, they likely won't conduct the interview.

Last Tuesday marked 60 days since they received my RFE. I contacted a tier 1 agent via chat on the USCIS website (took 5 minutes to speak to someone) and asked if there was any time frame for response of RFEs. The agent took down my information and put in a service request. (I didn't ask for a SR, the agent I spoke with said she would create one because they had my RFE for 60 days). They had 30 days to respond to the service request.

Yesterday, I received an email saying that my case was still under review, and that I should receive a response within 60 days.

Today around 12pm my case changed to card being produced, then case approved. I was at work and my entire company celebrated. We tried to get a cake but we couldn't find a bakery that was open, so we ate a bunch of chocolate instead 😂

I'm not sure if putting in a service request helped them take a look at my file. Maybe it was just a coincidence, but I'd like to think it helped. If you are waiting an unreasonable amount of time and think it would help, then by all means go ahead. My experience was pretty positive.

I am eligible to apply for citizenship next Wednesday. Thank you all for spending the last 353 days with me. You are all amazing human beings and I know things will go well.

Now it's time for me to join the N-400 February 2021 filers forum

    All the best!

Thank you! Mine is two business days later.
I was gonna say something like it looked promising but maybe a bit naive. Then I double checked the USCIS website. And I can't believe it. New card is being produced!!!!!!

I'm sure it's any minute for you now! I never receive the letter notice of case transfer so I filed a complaint online. Not sure if the complaint speed up anything.

Put alternate spellings under "other names used" or "aliases".

Name changes are allowed at naturalization. Usually it can take a little longer I've heard, but not hugely so? I think it depends on your local office. Most people opt for the naturalization name change because it's usually way faster than doing a court order name change. I think the whole point of naturalization name changes it to help people do it faster right then and there, as opposed to going the paperwork heavy route of the court order.

I would list all versions of the name you have used, even if it differs by only one letter. (Different transliterations is not uncommon with translating from other alphabets.)

    Don't know about second question.

So my wife's receipt number also started with LIN and the status changed similarly to yours. 5/13/2020 fingerprints reused from previous biometrics and then yesterday (1/6/2020) new card has been ordered, with no other updates in between.

That happened a lot faster than we expected. Will update further once we get notice card is mailed or we receive it.

@H_I I found a few comments by going through some earlier comments in this thread and other thread and by checking their timeline I think once you're transferred it should be one to two months till they contact you for result or interview. Hope for the best.

Here is an update about my case being transferred. The notice says that they completed a preliminary review of the application and as part of standard processing they transferred it to National benefit center.

I saw somebody mentioned earlier on the forum that they transferred their case to national benefits center to speed up the process. Nothing like that in my notice though.

It wasn't a specific thread, I was looking into people who posted about same notice and their timeline, it seems unless you filed for N400, you will have a result for ROC about 30-60 days.
