Let me share you my recent experience on K-1 visa.

    May 15th - NOA1
    Nov 7th - NOA2
Jan 8th - NVC Received (new case number assigned) - at NVC
    Jan 9th - NVC - in Transit
    Jan 10th - NVC - Ready
Jan 18th - Completed DS-160 and submitted. And got an interview appointment online and the earliest  was "Feb 5th" so I booked that date
Jan 21st - Instruction packet from American Embassy in Tokyo arrived
Jan 22nd - Call and get appointment on health examination
Feb 5th - Interview appointment at American Embassy in Tokyo
Feb xx - K-1 Visa and passport to be sent to my address in Tokyo (expecting 3 days to a week from the interview date)

The points I'd like to share as my knowledges to K-1 filers are:
My case, NVC case number assigned to NVC ready was only 2 days which was really quick but I heard normally a week from NVC call center agent, FYI - K-1 visa info does not stays at NVC that long time but they send to local embassy quite fast which the agent shared me. We had  to wait 60 days wait for USCIS to NVC arrived so called more than 10 times to hurry up for the next process so they might seriously take that? Not sure 100% but FYI. I could book the interview online before I get the packet itself arrived to my address in Tokyo. The way I did is I first completed and submitted DS-160 from the advice from @Naes and visited visa interview website to input my profile and pay fee by credit card and booked a date advised by @mikejoy2019 by accessing http://www.ustraveldocs.com/jp/jp-niv-typek.asp . The earliest date I could book was on Feb 5th and another choice was Feb 13th as of Jan 18th. There was only two candidate dates in Feb you know! But the good side is you can reschedule the interview date online anyhow so I thought no big risk to set an interview on earliest date which is Feb 5th.  The reason I tried online is, because I saw "Ready" the magic word on NVC CEAC tracking website which means not only is my case at the Embassy, but it is already entered into the system. One thing I was bit worried was the health examination in Japan requires the "letter from embassy that has case number" as MUST item to book a health examination but phew...luckily it went almost the assumed timeline that I have the packet so tomorrow on Monday 22nd Jan I will book an interview. All above is for Tokyo's case so not sure if it's same case in your country or region but hope these be of some help to you! So far, 8 months journey from NOA1, one more month and hope to close getting K-1 visa.

We were expecting 6 months and the USCIS part was sooooo long, they withheld our document to send to NVC for 60 days you know after approval in USCIS! And we asked but they don't even share us why it took 60 days, that was the most frustrating part across whole process. Now it seems better like 45 days but seems longer than used to be these days for May filers and after.

Now I need to prepare all the documents not to forget at the interview but thanks to my wonderful and knowledgable friends like @Naes @mikejoy2019 etc...all who are sharing any small things you found on this forum to have better understanding of this complex and bit tricky K-1 visa process. Can't appreciate more!

    Hello everyone
For those who are interested hearing about my medical experience in Melbourne AUS.....here it is. Before I even left for the medical I drank a lot of water with lemon and greens powder to make my blood extra healthy lol.
So my appointment was at 12:30pm, I arrived 12:20 and wasn't seen till 12:45...I completed some basic paper work in the meantime. Dr Charles called me in and he was very nice, I was comfortable with him. He asked me A BUNCH of questions about my health, took my blood pressure. All was good. Then he tested my eye sight, checked my eyes and ears, mouth, breathing, hight and weight. He then sent me into another room where I got my blood drawn. The nurse was lovely and gentle with me as I felt uneasy about getting a needle, lol. It freakin hurt  but I'm a baby like that. Getting the blood taken alone was 46$ from memory. She gave me a little cup to do a pee sample, so I did that. After I went back to see Dr Charles, he had me lay down on the bed while the nurse was present. He put his hands on both sides of my neck to check my thyroid, checked more breathing, armpits, checked groin area just slightly (bit uncomfortable moment for me. hehe). And....that was it. I adjusted my clothing and sat next to him at his desk. He gave me the option to get vaccinated now or when I have to file for AOS. I said I will do it now just to get it over with and have my medical confirmed as "complete". However I did not get my vaccines YET because he is waiting on my blood test results to determine if I need any extra vaccines? and he is giving me the chance to find my vaccine records (I looked for them everywhere at home, my mother had a baby book where everything was put down but its lost now so... )
He mentioned 3 vaccines I would defiantly get when I come back on Wednesday. They were for measles, rubella and...cant remember the last one  sorry. So thats happening soon. I paid 580$ for everything and gave 6 passport photos. I then had to get the X-ray for my chest, which was in another building not too far off at all. The receptionist gave me the address on an envelope which I was not allowed to open.  I presented the envelope to the receptionist at the Victoria House Medical Imaging place. I waited not even 5 mins and was called in. Ive never had an x-ray in my life. I changed into a purple robe sort of thing and was told to just press myself onto the machine. The lady scanned me from her computer. Over and done with very fast. The x-ray was included in the 580$ that I paid at the medical. I am not looking forward to those extra needles to say the least. BUT OH WELL. the things I do for love...
Visa Interview is in 9 days!!

I am hopeful for everyone past the NOA-2 phase that the shutdown does not last long.

I know I sound very casual saying not to worry, but I anticipate getting my own NOA2 next week, so the shutdown can kiss my behind.

Can someone please PM me the letter that they recently got from Knightsbridge if possible? I know some of the requirements of change like the amount of pictures and stuff like that.

NVC received our case today. 44 days after approval. NOA2 Nov. 8. Sent by USCIS, finally, on Dec. 15.

BTW - I did all the things. Inquiries, emails, phone calls, contacting Ombudsman, having by congressional reps office look into it, etc. If you're still waiting on either NOA2 or NVC receipt, by all means, make all the noise you can.

    Hey Fellow May Filers,
So tomorrow will officially be 6 weeks for me after receiving NOA2 with no NVC number.  I will call one more time on Tuesday and then send an email to NVCResearch.  I had hoped to get the NVC number before Christmas, but obviously that won't be happening.

It's so funny; when I filed our petition in May, I fully expected that we'd have Visa In Hand by Christmas.  Gee, were we wrong!

But we will continue to keep the faith and my fiancé and I are hoping to get him here by his birthday in February.

Merry Christmas to all of you.  Keep the faith and know that this will be the last Christmas without your significant other by your side.

Just want to say congrats to those that received their NOA2 this week and case #s from NVC. As we head into Christmas, I wanna which everyone and Merry Christmas (or Happy Holidays if you celebrate something else), and I hope you all are safe and have a joyous time!!!

For those that are still waiting with me for a NOA2 or anything at this point....I will keep you all in prayer and hopefully before the day is over Santa and his reindeer will drop something in our mailboxes today or tomorrow. Either way, chin up and smile because believe it or not we are closer today than we were yesterday and the days before.

And I just want to thank you all that have said so many encouraging words of kindness and sent much love and positivity towards my Reni and I. Believe it or not, WE ARE ALL FAMILY!!! Blood and DNA has nothing to do with what makes a family and I have a love and respect for each and everyone of you!!! I wouldn't have made this far without you pulling me through this. Thanks for the laughs, thanks for letting me vent, and thanks for your strength!!!!

    Merry Christmas!!!

You don't have to send any email, however you can send an inquiry email to NVC if your case has not reached NVC for over 30 days.

Per the spreadsheet the current average is 45 days.

If your case has not reached NVC for over 30 days, send a email to nvcresearch@state.gov with the following details. 1. Place case number in subject line. (this is the WAC #) 2. Attach copy of your approval notice (Scan and attach copy of NOA2 approval notice to the email) 3. Write petitioner and beneficiary full name and date of birth in the body of email 4. Explain to them your situation (when approval was received and that your want to know the status of your case)

i believe you need 1 for each member. So it would be 2 forms for you and your child.

Yes, same, just need 2 of  I-134, and pay $265*2 , and for medical. But I’m not sure all country has the same process, you should check the embassy website or something in your country. We are similar, I have a son and will take him, got NoA2 5th this month!

Online status did not update still shows received, oddly enough it did not show up in my informed delivery email notifications also.

@Trinab80 Check your mailbox if you haven't yet.
@Naes You were right it would just show up one day without updates.
