Will it still be my husband (US citizen) that fills it In?

Yes, it is the same person that filled out the I-134 form.

Hey everyone! Hope all is well and everyone is enjoying married life 😀.

Just wanted to give a warning about the SSN. We applied 2 weeks after John arrived April and the number was just assigned (still waiting for the card in the mail in the next 2 weeks) So it’s took a while for the information to be in the system. Try waiting 3 weeks to avoid the 3 month wait :/

We were very lucky with the SSN card.  Her POE was on 6/8.  She applied for SSN on 6/12, and she received her SSN card in the mail on 6/25.

My POE is just around the corner ( finally, yay!) has applied for a ssn yet? If so, What is that process like? And once you received it, can you start looking for jobs ASAP?

Also, does anyone know how long we have to wait before we can visit our home country again/leave the u.s?

You can look for a job, but you cannot work until after your marriage, and you file and receive your EAP.

You cannot travel out of the US until after your marriage, and you file and receive your AP.

The last I looked it was taking 4 months from filing to receive AOS/EAP/AP.

I got this email from the embassy after waiting 3 weeks after my fiancé’s interview. Of course I replied within 10 minutes of receiving the email, call now! 15 hours later , no call. Not sure if good or bad news is coming..............

I don't know if that is good news or bad news, but hopefully they just need to talk with you about something (paperwork, financials, etc.).  Good luck!!!

Most recent update, I've just received emails from the Jakarta consulate that they have received my package. They also emailed my beneficiary with a list of things she needs to do, but she hasnt received a packet yet. Any idea how long she can expect to wait before receiving packet 3?

The email was packet 3.  My fiance never received anything other than an email from the embassy.

So Ive moved to America on a K-1 Visa on April 18, 2018, and I got married on May 1, 2018! Im now working on the I-485 and i'm confused if i'm supposed to do another Affidavit of Support I-864? Can I use the ones from the Consulate interview or not?

Also to make things more difficult, I have a co-sponser as well.. So do they have a co-sponser form as well?

    help mee please!! xx

Yes, you have to do another Affidavit of Support with the I-485.  However, the one you submitted to the US embassy for the interview should have been an I-134 form.  Whereas, now you are going to do the I-864 form.  So it is two different forms.

I dunno...as I said, someone else with the same NOA2 and who got out of the NVC long after we did got an interview date in a reasonable amount of time, and had their visa on hand four days after the interview.  I won the fail lottery.  That doesn't mean you will, unless you pretty regularly have spectacularly bad luck like we do!

Today is 4 weeks since my fiance's interview, and we still have not heard anything.  Our case shows "Application Received", which I guess is similar to AP.  Our NOA2 expires on May 30th, so I hope that will inspire them to make a decision soon.  I feel like we are so close to the finish line, but we just cannot get there.

Have you heard anything. If you dont receive anything that usually means they need to review it more!

Today is 4 weeks since the interview, and we still have not heard anything.  I emailed the embassy 2 weeks ago, and they replied that they did not need anything from us at that time.  I emailed the embassy again on Friday, but I have not heard back from them yet.

Our case may be more complicated than normal, since she is a Russian citizen living in Greece (legally).  We supplied all of the required documents, birth certificate, police reports, etc.  I just hope we hear something soon.  Our NOA2 expires on May 30th, so maybe that will motivate them to make a decision.

  8. Personally, I would not submit 50 pages of chat.  5-6 pages should be plenty.  Just randomly select dates over the course of your relationship.

Evidence of the two of you meeting in person is more important.  So make sure you include photos of the two of you together, copies of airline boarding passes (which prove dates), etc.

10 days for us , it’s frustrating to see many approved on the spot at the interview . This wait now is worse than the 6 month previous  wait. We just have to be patient and know the eplosion of happiness is right around the corner.

You are right.  This wait is worse than the 6 month previous wait, because you know you are so close.  And as you said, others got their approval on the spot at the interview.  Why not us????

  10. 3+ weeks since the interview and still no decision on our case.  I actually called the US Embassy in Greece today, which is not easy because they only accept phone calls on Tuesday and Thursday between 2-4pm Greek time.  The guy I spoke with was very nice and polite, but he did not know any details about the status of our case.  He asked me to email him (to remind him) and he would talk with the CO on Friday.  Hopefully, they can give us some indication as to what the holdup is, but I honestly don't expect any answers at this point.  Losing hope day by day at this point.

So after waiting what felt like forever my fiance had her interview in Jakarta yesterday. I felt like we have a solid case, we've been dating for 4 years, have spent 2 months together the last 3 years and traveled around SE Asia together. During the interview the guy kept asking her she knew 2 names neither of us know. I guess it was a trick question. Any way, at the end the interviewer he said our case is under further review  but asked for no additional documents or anything. Of course we were disappointed not to receive approval. I  stopped reading here a few months ago and we expected to receive approval at the interview. Now after reading here a bit i am wondering if this is more and more common?  Can anyone tell me if this more usual now?

My fiance had her interview two weeks ago (April 3rd), and we still have not received an approval.  I even emailed the Embassy and asked if they needed any additional information, but they replied that they did not need anything.  So we waiting again.  :(
