I feel like getting ahead of the ball if possible.I'm going to attach a few links for you to use. These can be found under the "Guides" tab at the tippy top of the page.
1. A flow chart of each step needed for the K-1 Visa from beginning to end. http://www.visajourney.com/content/k1flow
2. Here is a step by step guide http://www.visajourney.com/content/k1guide
This is taken from the guide in case you aren't able to open it. It lists the requirements for the actual K-1 Visa itself, which is what you're preparing for
1. A copy of the entire I-129f package (that you made when you sent the petition in) and a copy of information that you sent back due to an RFE (if you received one). Your fiance should review this information in advance of the interview (the embassy will have copies of this as well). 2. Send copies of the documentary proof that you submitted with the I-129F for your fiance to have on hand for their interview at the embassy. Your fiance should review this information in advance of the interview (the embassy will have copies of this as well). 3. Send an original letter affirming your desire to marry your fiance and your continued support of the K-1 Visa. Sign and date the form. This will be similar to the letter you provided with the I-129F, but dated much closer to the interview (it will have most likely been several months since you submitted your I-129F). 4. I-134 Affidavit of Support form. Ensure it is signed, with all required supporting evidence. Begin collecting the required information ahead of time, as it can often take several weeks to collect it all. 5. You will need several items (for the above form). Gather duplicate evidence of income and resources as appropriate:
(A) Statement from an officer of the bank/financial institution with your deposits, identifying the following: 1. date account opened; 2. total amount deposited for the past year; 3. present balance
(B) Statement(s) from your employer on business stationary showing: 1. Date and nature of employment; 2. salary paid; 3. whether position is temporary or permanent (also include copies of your last two pay stubs and your previous W-2 for the associated employer if available)
(C) If Self Employed: 1. Copy of last income tax return filed (or IRS transcripts); or 2. report of commercial rating concern
(D) List containing serial numbers and denominations of bonds and name of record owner(s).
Begin collecting these ASAP after your NOA2 arrives. See this FAQ for more tips and useful information on the Affidavit of Support Form.6. A copy of the NOA2 that you received in the mail. (backup information; the embassy will have copies of this as well) 7. Proof of your ongoing relationship. This needs to be taken to the interview! Include photos, travel documents, emails, online chat logs (pick several over the prior few months), etc.. from between the time you filed and present (NOA1 until date-now).
Examples: Copies of land line and cell phone bills, appropriate emails and letters you have sent including the stamps on envelopes (to document the date they were sent), and other written documentary proof. Provide a reasonable amount; two to four of each type. Pick a range of dates up to and including the present. You can also include a copy of engagement ring receipt (this is something that is a big optional - do not worry if you do not have a ring yet!)I hope this is what you're looking for! It may be a bit much but I think it can help others who are lurking and needing assistance

I'm so excited for everybody!!
Not just us July filers, but everyone on VJ that is waiting for their approvals! I feel that the positive people in this group have really helped me keep an open mind and push us all through this process more smoothly. I truly do feel that this month is going to be a quick one for all of us- especially after May and June have been dragged on and on (and are still processing). I'm just glad we're all in this together and this step will (hopefully) be over soon for all of us!!
Here's some positive vibes to all of you!! We got this- Emanuelle, EFGH2017, nullaccount234 and 1 other

WAC391500 here and I decided to stop checking in on the forum at the end of last year because I was becoming too discouraged about the long wait and being away from my fiancé at the happiest time of the year.
However, decided to check in yesterday and glad I did - all this awesome info about informed delivery!! Immediately signed the boy up for it and he woke up to a million msgs from me telling me to verify his account haha.
Here's to good news soon for all of us!!
😄💖✈️
Yes! My fiancé and I took a break from VJ for a month!! I’m a lot more stressed and anxious since we got back on but our time is coming soon, so it’s nice to stay informed! I just got the USPS informed delivery app & I saw a few packages coming in the mail! I hope they’re mine 😂😝

I was arrested 30 years ago for soliciting a prostitute. I was not fingerprinted. The charges were dropped by the court. I have renewed my green card 3 times since then. I would like to naturalize but am embarrassed by this past mistake. Must I report it in my application. Thanks for your advise.
Yes, you must. When asked about criminal history, if you don't tell them it would be considered withholding information and would be immediate grounds for denial and possibly worse... do not lie or withhold any information where he gov. is concerned.

Its not about hide or anything..its just you need to be more careful and not to things take easy
More careful about what? Going to the interview that determines whether or not the love of my life gets to come to the USA and marry me? I'll take my chances

They can ask me whatever questions they want lol I have nothing to hide, in fact, I hope they do question me. It would only prove our relationship to be more bonafide.

This is probably a stupid question, but does attending the interview make a difference to immigration? My fiance is from Mauritius, I'm from Minnesota. His medical/interview will be in south africa, so I'll be flying to SA to meet him for both. We'll be in south africa for the duration of the medical, interview and then waiting for his passport with his visa in it.

This is kind of off-topic. But my fiance and I met through Instagram. Are they going to question whether or not this is an IMBR?

Hello July Filers
I know this process is a big pain in the ### but just keep the faith and sooner enough you will all get your NOA2.
Everything happens for a reason in the right time and in the right place.
yes! i am a firm believer in this, I am sure many of us are. I'm glad we're in this together!

All I want at this point is for everything to get approved; The government can take as long as they want as long as they approve her visa, lol. This process almost feels like people are suspicious until proven innocent which stinks for all the real applications out there.
Anyways, I'm blessed that I'll be able to see my fiancee this weekend. I've told her that if there is one thing all this waiting has taught us is how much we should cherish the time we spend together, text, etc. Going through this minimizes any argument we have... I mean we are going through this JUST to be together... We keep reminding each other to put everything in God's hands as there is no better place to be (also keeps us from going insane, lol)... God bless y'all =)
I'm in the same boat lol I really don't care how long it takes anymore, as long as this wait isn't pointless (resulting in a denial). I am wanting to go visit my fiance SOOO bad. It's winter here in Minnesota, so the temp has dropped pretty quickly, which, I am obviously used to. But it's summertime in Mauritius where he's at... I'm waiting and saving up for the interview in South Africa so I can be with him for that. I'm happy you are able to see your fiance this weekend. Cherish every second for all of us that aren't able to see ours for awhile xo

May filler here waiting for noa2.
If you filed in May, you’ve got to be almost there! Yay

What more do you "need"? Why do you think you are entitled or deserve something more than every single other applicant who goes through this?
More patience is what I was referring to. I am looking for advice on writing to Congress, not unnecessary criticism of what I do and don’t deserve. Thank you.

I sought the help of my senator once my fiance's case was at the embassy, whose immigration section of his office then contacted the embassy regarding his file. Although I'm not sure just how much of an effect it had on our case, my fiance was approved on the spot
Best of luck to you!
So once it was already approved and ready for interview?
Awesome!! Thank you

It has been like that for several years now and I seriously doubt a letter from you will make the USCIS change their timelines. Just because you feel the timeline shouldn't be what they are doesn't mean that you can try to change it.
You do realize that their are burdened because since Trump was elected people are trying to get either get naturalization or make sure they are in status. So that's why the timelines are getting longer.
I do understand that, yes. I’m not trying to change anything, just trying to urge them to make improvements for everyone seeking a visa (not just me and my fiancé).
Also, as the visa fees go up, that money should be spent employing more people and speeding up timelines. But that’s just my opinion.

Hello everyone!
Our k-1 is at 78 Days! Woo!
Ive been considering a lot lately as we come closer to our 90 Days, and I was thinking of sending a letter to my congressmen explaining mine/my fiancé’s situation, how we met (our story), how we’re struggling to understand the longer and longer processing times, etc.
I wouldn’t send this out until after the 90 Days, maybe even 100 just to be safe. But, I’m not sure how to start it or even what to include in the letter.
Has anyone done this or know someone who has? How did you go about it? What was the outcome? Did it help?
I’m not necessarily ONLY trying to get a push, but I also want to make them aware that I’m trying to bring him over so that they know our relationship is legit!
Any advice is helpful!
* I understand the average processing time is 120+ Days, but this shouldn’t be the case. It’s getting higher and higher and this problem needs to be fixed! Maybe I’m just impatient but like everyone, I miss the love of my life.

Hello everyone! I hope your visa processes are going smoothly (despite the higher processing times lately)!
I have a question for anyone who might have an answer!
My fiance is from Mauritius and it’s where he’s currently staying while we wait for his K-1. After doing some research on the Embassy websites and VJ, we learned that he’ll have to go to the Johannesburg Embassy in South Africa for his medical and interview. The problem with this is there’s no definite timeline of how long he’ll need to be there for. I’ve read the medical should be done 10 Days prior to your interview, so there’s 10 Days, then the interview and then the days it will take for him to get his passport back with his visa in it.
I was planning on meeting him there for a vacation together before he comes over here, but I’m not sure how much time I should plan to take off of work. My position is “temporary” so I can take off as much as I would like, but I don’t want to be there longer than I plan to.
Any word of advice would be much appreciated!
Thank you!

I'm not sure what the 5ABC is, but yes
"3. whether position is temporary or permanent (also include copies of your last two pay stubs and your previous W-2 for the associated employer if available) " The W-2 is technically what you earned and paid in for taxes that previous year.
