First thing:  Your feelings are exceptionally normal, and there's nothing wrong with your feelings or with you.
 
You're lucky to be in a university town.
Get to campus and go to the International Student center.  Spend the day.  Repeat.
Chances are that you'll meet some UK folks, or be referred to them.  Form acquaintanceships.
Some might be aware of other UK transplants living in town.  Contact and befriend them.
They can tell you how they overcame homesickness, which gives you a guide for yourself.
Finally, keep giving it time, and keep the faith.

Our case has been complete at NVC since April 2nd and still no interview date! I am beyond frustrated and starting to worry. I thought it only took 2 weeks to get an interview date???😞

Crying of joy! We FINALLY got a CASE COMPLETE today!!! 😭🙏🏻 Alllll the glory be to God!!! After 1 year and 1 month full of many manyyyyy emotions and needed patience, we’re on to interview!! 

Folks Visa was approved for my wife today. She said interview lasted only 3 minutes which included only 3 questions and small talk. Overall, she found it to be smooth.
Consulate: Accra

Q2.How did husband initially go to the USA?
Q3. Has she traveled outside Ghana before?

I just got an email from NVC 10mins  ago. 
INTERVIEW on 1st MARCH!!! 
 
I’m in SHOCK!!!!!! That’s TEN days from today?!!
 
For some reason I thought you get 4 weeks notice to your interview? And I was told it can take from
6 weeks to 3months to schedule ?
not that I’m complaining!! 
 
I’m now scrambling to book the medical appointment. 
 
Any body else interviewing on March 1st , London?

So my wife just finished her interview just now and was granted her visa. They didn't even look at any of our "proof". They asked for the necessary documents and asked her a few questions. She said it was 5 min or less.

No Text, no e-mails. 
 
PD March 15th NSC VJ website predicted today. (New Website still says "case received" though)

Team March - I just got the notification that my application was approved via email, using the notification system from the new USCIS system.
Details: NSC, NOA 1 Date ~12 March, CR1, Australian Beneficiary.

just woke up to the news that we've been approved! The longest wait is finally done. We're March 5th, Nov 6h NOA2, won't be long for the other March Nebraska filers, crossing my fingers for everyone else 😊

They sent this to me and my wife yesterday. So it was about a month from my NOA2 until I received my case number. I can now proceed with the process to get my wife to the States. 
 

They broke up due to the pressure.  I suppose it can be argued that they may not have been strong to begin with but it still hurts.  Once the focus switches from the reason for the process to the process things can go south quickly.  Maybe that is part of the reason for the delays.  The government can weed out weaker couples.  A few of the lost couples were regular contributors here.  It was sad as they lost sight of what was truly important.

Approved from Potomac!!! Glory be to !!!! Iml am so happy. I think Potomac Service Center is moving faster now! I saw a lot of timelines close to my priority date of March 30, 2018 getting approved. VJ said I'm supposed to get something in the mail between Oct 24 and November 24th, 2018. Based on the others timelines who are close to my pd, I expected to get the NOA2 next week. I just got an email notice from immigration to check my account and it says that I got approved yesterday October 4th, 2018! I was so nervous logging into my account. Glory be to God, our case is APPROVED. Now waiting for the mail notice to come on...
